The Mystery of the Resurrection 1 Corinthians 15:50-57
In 1 Corinthians 15:51, Paul wrote,
“Behold It ell you a mystery.” He was about to share divinely revealed information on the resurrection of believers. If such knowledge was to be understood, it would require the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit. Many of the questions the Corinthians asked are the same ones on our minds.
Why must our bodies be changed?
Our bodily transformation is essential because we will be living in a heavenly environment. We must have forms well suited to our new home. Earthly flesh and blood have no place in the eternal kingdom of God. Only the immortal and imperishable do.
Does everyone have to die first?
When we are physically changed from perishable to imperishable, some believers will be alive and others will have died. All who belong to the Savior—living or dead—will be changed.
How long will the transformation take?
The change will happen in the “twinkling of an eye, ”a moment so fast it can’t be measured. We won’t realize it has occurred until it’s complete.
When will this happen?
It occurs when the shout of the Lord and the sound of the trumpet are heard. (1 Thessalonians 4:16) At that moment, we will find ourselves with new, immortal bodies.
God has chosen to reveal to us the mystery of immortality, which is guaranteed for every single believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. No earthly circumstance can ever take away this reassuring and glorious gift. Let’s lift our voices in praise to our loving God for giving us these great truths.

Inside the will of God there is no failure. Outside the will of God there is no success.
