A longtime friend who is NOT a bornagain Christian but a New Ager, and I were talking about "spirituality" and about Christianity, and he said that the thing he hated about Christianity was our assertion that we were the only way to God. (I used to say that myself before I became a bornagain Christian.)
And I have to admit, and gladly admit actually, that yes, if there is only One Living God who is the Creator of heaven and earth, and if this One Living God is the LORD YHWH God of Israel and His son Lord God Yeshua-Jesus of Israel, then yes, there is only one way to God.
My longtime friend also said that believing that a child is born a sinner is also nonsense, how can that be, he said. (I used to say that myself before I became a bornagain Christian.)
And he also said that he does not like the Old Testament because it is a book of war and not love. (I used to say that myself before I became a bornagain Christian.)
By the end of the conversation I had been able to tell him that "well, in the end, my God is the God of the Bible and He is the God that I am going with."
But he liked talking to me about this stuff.
"LORD YHWH God of Israel, speak to John Larson that You are the One he is looking for."
Christianity is voluntary. But Islam and Hindu are mandatory religions who kill if one tries to convert to another religion.
What I like about Christianity is that Christianity is voluntary; that is the very loving part about it, isn't it? It's just wonderful. The Living God does not get a robot but a voluntary person. what a difference that makes. ![[clap2]](graemlins/clap2.gif)
But what about the Bhuddists then? There is fighting between Bhuddists and Islamics in Malaysia. To a large extent, Bhuddism is also voluntary and accepts the fact that a person may convert to another religion, like Christianity.
If the LORD YHWH of Israel be the Creator of heaven and earth, then Bhuddism is actually a clever lay-down-quiet kind of religion invented by Lucifer-Satan which works quite well for Lucifer at keeping people from finding the LORD God of Israel as Creator of heaven and earth.
But I am thankful that Christianity is still voluntary, Amen?
