Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Christian television ministries are under investigation by the U.S. Senate for living lavishly from the contributions of the faithful. Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), the leading Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is also looking into the group's tax-exempt status, and will probe any possible financial abuses.
He is asking the ministries for financial records on salaries and spending practices, including perks like private jets.
The six ministries under investigation preach the prosperity gospel - that God blesses the rich and that the rich should help others.
Atlanta-based prosperity pastor Creflo Dollar, who owns a Rolls Royce, multimillion-dollar homes and travels in a church-owned Learjet, is fighting Grassley's inquiry. His attorney calls prosperity gospel a "deeply held religious belief" grounded in Scripture and therefore a protected religious freedom.
Grassley has said his probe is not about theology.

Good someone needs to hold these charlatan's acountable for ripping off God's people and spending it on themselves. Hope this will help cut down on the self indulgence by these false preachers.
I do pray their eyes would be open to the Good News of Jesus Christ and that they may repent and come to know Jesus before it is to late.
