Show me someone who thinks Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, etc. are all the same and equal, and I'll show you someone who is confused. Read John 14:6, for starters.

Jesus died on a cross for the sins of mankind, and rose from the tomb having conquered death.

Buddha died of over-eating. (Acute indigestion after a lavish feast--look it up.) He's still in his grave. His last words were "work out your salvation."

Salvation cannot be earned. It is ours because of God's grace alone, through Christ.

And correct, Jim Carrey can follow who he chooses. As can I.

Jim Carrey believes what he believes. It isn't confusing to me. [Smile]

I saw a preview of the 60 Minutes interview on TV and these words by Jim Carrey really stood out for me, and I too think he is really searching and must be quite confused. Will be praying for him that the veil is lifted from his eyes.

Okay, something different. Here is an opportunity to send prayer out for a Hollywood celebrity. A lost soul is a lost soul. God tells us to pray for the lost--that even includes the famous. This also means that you might see God's hand at work in answer to prayer, simply by turning on the TV one day, and hear about someone famous accepting Christ. That sends a powerful message to anyone who follows that celebrity's career, and not to mention his/her movie business cronies. I am only attempting this because, well, it is a powerful witness when someone well-known turns to Jesus--and the media, like'em or not, are seen by millions. And, every soul is precious to the Lord.

Comedian Jim Carrey (The Mask, Grinch, etc.) will be on "60 Minutes" and in his interview he reveals how spiritually naive he is... all the while thinking he's showing everyone his spiritual attunement. I've pasted the actual news item below, and it will fully illustrate the point.

He also talks about giving up drugs for a spiritual life, which I applaud him for... but he is still under the veil of confusion.

Now's a time to pray, for the mighty and the small. For this soul, once touched, will touch many many more.

JIM CARREY TELLS '60 MINUTES': MORE GOD, LESS PROZAC

Thu Nov 18 2004 16:29:15 ET
Jim Carrey says the anti-depressant Prozac that he took may have helped him at one time, but he's better off without it now. In fact, says the actor, a no-drugs-or-alcohol policy and a spiritual life are the things that make him feel good. Carrey speaks frankly in a rare one-on-one interview with Steve Kroft to be broadcast on 60 MINUTES Sunday, Nov. 21 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
"I was on Prozac for a long time," he tells Kroft. "It may have helped me out of a jam for a little bit, but people stay on it forever." Then he describes being on the medication as not taking away the illness's peaks and valleys, only softening them. "There are peaks, there are valleys, but they're all kind of carved and smoothed out...It feels like a low level of despair you live in where you're not getting any answers but you're living okay and you can smile at the office," he says. "You know, I had to get off at a certain point because I realized that ...everything is okay."
Carrey takes nothing now. "I rarely drink coffee. I am very serious about no alcohol, no drugs," he says, "Life is too beautiful."
During the interview at his home, he invited 60 MINUTES cameras to one of his most beautiful and private spots, his "center of the universe," where he goes to escape the world and where he tells Kroft his feelings about God. "This is where I hang out with Buddha, Krishna...all those guys," says Carrey about a lean-to adorned with candles and a bed built high on his hillside property in Brentwood, Calif.
"I'm a Buddhist, I'm a Muslim, I'm a Christian. I'm whatever you want me to be...it all comes down to the same thing," he tells Kroft. Carrey says he believes they are all the same God and it is this conviction and spirituality that make him happy.
