1 Peter 5:8 and 9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, stead fast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Knowing this

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to men; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Never blaming God

James 1:13-15 Let noone say when he is tempted ,"I am tempted of God." For God can not be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.

Confessing your failure

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

Forgiving others

Matthew 5:14 and 15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their trespasses neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Right focus

Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

Right mind

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things.

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

You fail to talk about that the devil also comes to KILL!

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

[Prayer]

That is all.....

The Devil has been called the Father of lies. In every way he will try to make you doubt your salvation, the love of God, twist scripture, and cause dissension in all your relationships. If you know God and put all thoughts under the subjection of Christ he has no power. For to be spiritually minded is peace.
Here are some examples of lies
- You aren't important enough for God to care
- Look at what you've done you could never be God's child.
-you've run out of chances, or this is your last chance
-Give up already you'll never get it right
-your not worth God's time
See the Devil is an accuser there to point blame. This isn't God's doing. God will punish wrong doing, but he isn't going to guilt trip you to death. He died to pay the penalty of our sin. In Christ we have the power to rise. For as Christ died and rose so can we rise to a new life. He says though your sins be as scarlet I shall make them white as snow.
Now I'd like to talk about another characteristic of the Devil. He is a thief. Stealing from God. How does he steal God's glory?
He draws away our attention from God to worldly things. To make us form idols we put above and before God. An idol can be as simple as our constant need for entertainment, sports, fishing, to a religious doctrine or church preaching it's the only way to Heaven. Idols can form out of our need for power, satisfaction, or even acceptance.
In truth Christ should be the center of our life and the top priority always.
When the Devil steals your time from walking with God he steals God's glory. For we are bought with a price. That price is the precious blood of Christ.God deserves all our honor and praise, even the praise of our lives fully dedicated to him. The Bible says in all things to glorify God. Also when we seek God with all our hearts that is when we will find him. As temples of the Holy Spirit then we can truly allow God to glorify himself in and through us.
Lastly the Devil is the destroyer. He will lead your life to death and destruction. That death can come through pride.
-I don't need God I'm good enough I know morals
-I'm too smart to believe in fairy tales
- If God allows this to happen he isn't good or he doesn't love me.
-Maybe God isn't who he says he is
Starts with just one doubt and then another, add sin, and confusion and you have a recipe for disaster. No wonder James warned draw near and submit yourselves unto God, and to resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:8 God never leaves or forsakes us, but we can leave God's side. Hearts can grow cold, consciences can be seared, and even harm can come to our bodies when we walk outside God's will and allow the Devil to control our works.
The Bible says whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey his servants you are to whom ye obey. As instruments of God unto righteousness or as instruments of the Devil unto sin. Either way your submitting to something. Submit to the lusts of the flesh and the pride of life and your a slave to it. Submit to God and your free to break those chains.
Another way to be tricked is to push the blame or make excuses. Adam said Eve made me do it. If you don't take responsibility for sin and confess it how will you know forgiveness? God doesn't accept excuses for our life styles. The devil will make plenty for you to believe though. Out of the heart proceeds much evil and that is why we make Christ King.
If you have been walking the wrong path not forgiving yourself and others it's time to turn your life around.Stand fast in the liberty in which Christ has set you free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. For we have not received the spirit of fear but of adoption whereby we cry Abba Father.
