Mary Beth has discovered a tremendous antidote for skunk spray. We helped her and Phil eliminate a half-dozen that had been weaned, and were in residence under a neighbor's deck. Rodents with potent chemical weapons. Handled a couple and then they took over and were the "A Team" on the other four. Even had two at one time. Y'all are awesome!!
Her precious German Shepherd, "Zena" had a close encounter with one, night before last and got solitary in the garage. Mary Beth found the excellent antidote for skunk odor.
2 Bottles of hydrogen Peroxide 1/4 cup Baking Soda 2 tsp. of liquid soap
Makes a foamy liquid which can be rubbed on the dog and such as the collar can be soaked in it. Make sure you wet down the dog and then rinse out after application. It removed all traces of the "fragrance" Eau De Pepe Le Pew".
We were able to trap them out with a smaller wire cage trap, covered in a tarp as they won't spray if they can't see you, as long as you move carefully and don't scare them. By connecting a tow rope hooks to each end of the cage the trap can be picked-up and moved with the tarp draping over. Just try not to rattle their cage.
