Tennesse, you are right, we are in the last days according to bible prophecy. We must keep looking up and not out.
Jesus is coming soon, and I would not hesitate to say that it will be in our lifetime!!

Last Days
"This know also, that in the ... last days ... perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." 2 Timothy 3:1-7
To emphasize what the Bible is saying here, the "last days" means this generation preceding the dreadful day of the Lord.
"Perilous times" describes current events as reported in the media -- in these last days.
"Men shall be lovers of their own selves" indicates that selfishness will be more prevalent than compassionate acts of charity -- in these last days.
To be "covetous" is what is happening when people are never satisfied and are always wanting more of what their neighbors possess -- in these last days.
In this world, it is common for "boasters" to brag about what they own, what they've accomplished in life, which important person they've seen, met or know -- and why their personal opinions are based on their own superior intelligence -- in these last days.
"Proud" people usually think they are better than humble people -- in these last days.
"Blasphemers" are guilty of mocking the power of God as manifested by the Holy Spirit -- in these last days.
Rebellious children who seek approval from their peers are often "disobedient to parents" -- in these last days.
People who expect something for nothing, expect family members or the government to pay the cost of their survival, and are always taking instead of giving -- are often seen as "unthankful" -- in these last days.
Most people qualify as "unholy" when compared to Jesus -- in these last days.
Instead of showing kindness, compassion and love for their families and neighbors, most people tend to be "without natural affection" -- as they focus emotions on possessions, pets, and immoral sex -- in these last days.
Treaties between nations and written contracts between ordinary people are needed now instead of verbal promises sealed with friendly handshakes -- and "trucebreakers" are the reason we see havoc in the courts after failure to meet obligations bring disagreements -- in these last days.
Malicious gossips become "false accusers" in their desire to destroy the reputations of others who have upset them in some way -- in these last days.
Examples of "incontinent" people becomes obvious when they impulsively buy things they can't afford, allow emotions to rule in communications, and are unable to practice self-restraint -- in these last days.
There are many criminals, terrorists, and world leaders in this world who can be classified as "fierce" foes -- in these last days.
Any person of normal intelligence who understands why honesty and common sense are desirable characteristics, would soon learn when visiting bars, listening to radio, watching TV, or reading posts on Internet message boards that this world has been corrupted by "despisers of those that are good" -- in these last days.
Example after example could be given by "YOU" or anyone else of back-stabbing, double-dealing, cheating, former friends and business associates who became "traitors" -- in these last days.
People who get "high" on too much coffee, too much alcohol, or consume a variety of drugs that bring temporary "artificial" feelings of peace, energy, or exhilaration -- could be described as "heady" -- in these last days.
There seems to be too many people who are unable to manifest "highminded" intellectual ideals that impact common morality in a positive way during their daily lives -- in these last days.
What subject picked for discussion, which activity preferred more than prayer, what sacrifice is made for success to bring personal power, fame and money to those who are "lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God" -- in these last days?
Do true Christians heed these words in churches where people can be found "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof" -- in these last days?
Do true Christians heed the words "from such turn away" when their fellow members claim that God's power to control the universe today, power to affect the weather today, power to read minds today, power to speak to people today, power to heal sick people today, power to forgive people of their sins today -- is a supernatural "power" that only college graduates, magicians, psychics, scientists or liberal politicians are allowed to demonstrate -- in these last days?
What kind of people "creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins" who are "led away with divers lusts" -- in these last days?
What kind of people are "ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" -- in these last days?
For those of you who are reading these words, the "last days" for this last generation is a prophetic -- last warning -- which means we need to understand this vital message: Jesus is God, repent or perish! JIGROP!
