Instead of posting it all again, check out my Risktaker, Caretaker, or Undertaker thread. That explains the characteristics and gives examples of each from Revelation.

What are some of the indications of a "live" church?
Are people's lives being changed?
Are people drawing closer to the God of the Bible?
Are members living more and more for Christ and less and less for the world?
Is the congregation increasing in Holness? Are they being comformed to the image of Christ?
Are people being persecuted for their stand on the Gospel?

My pastor read this last night and I asked him to email me a copy so that I could put it on the various boards I'm one. Do you go to a live church or a dead church? Use this list to find out.
Live churches always have a parking problem; ...dead churches don’t.
Live churches are constantly changing their methods; ...dead churches don’t have to.
Live churches have lots of noisy kids; ... dead churches are quiet.
Live churches expenses always exceed their income; ... dead churches take in more than they ever spend.
Live churches are constantly improving and plan for the future; ... dead churches worship their past.
Live churches grow so fast you don’t know people’s names; ... in dead churches you’ve known everyone’s name for years.
Live churches move out in faith; ... dead churches operate totally by sight.
Live churches support missions heavily; ... dead churches keep it all at home.
Live churches are filled with tithers; ... dead churches are filled with tippers.
Live churches dream great dreams for God; ... dead churches relive nightmares.
Live churches have the fresh wind of love blowing; ... dead churches are stale with bickering.
Live churches don’t have “can’t” in their vocabulary; ... dead churches have nothing but.
Live churches evangelize; ... dead churches fossilize.
