We will keep your daughter in our prayers Debbie;

Anytime you want to come to the Black Hills ( over a million acres of Ponderosa Pine), just let me know. But I have to warn you there is no beach sand here and no salt water, and it gets below zero in the winter. But snowmobiling is great fun. I lived in carrolwood, which I now understand just keeps going all the way to the Pasco county line! I do miss it at times, I am a native floridian, but I love the mountains too and people wave when you pass them on the road, and the deer, buffalo, cyote, owls, wild turkey and phesant are an everyday sight here and I guess I do prefer that to concrete, glass, and pavement. When I left florida, there were more people in Hillsborough County than in the whole state of South Dakota

Its sad when people ask you not to, or demand that you dont pray...but remember Daniel and those lions....

Each situation is different in ways, but alike in others...

May God give her boldness in her faith, but as gentle as a lamb...
Wise as a serpent but , harmless as a dove.. [spiny]

You can move out this way, Melisa and myself see plenty of room in T E X A S ..lol

Thanks, helpforhomeschoolers. Instead of complaining, she was actually asking me to pray for the person who chastized her. And she said Jesus surely had tears running down His cheeks.

(BTW, I use to homeschool (daughters are grown) but those were great years. And Tampa and area has had a growth spirt of epic proportions. Way to crowded. Can I come to the great out west? [Big Grin] )

Hi Debbie and welcome to the board. We are so glad to have you with us. I am from Tampa, but moved to South Dakota about 11 years ago. How's life in the city?

Tell your daughter, Jesus says she is blessed that she is persecuted for His names sake.

You know it is a different kind of persecution, not the physical pain and suffering our brothers and sisters around the world are induring in the name of Christ, but no less, the church is also being persecuted in America.

The question then becomes how many of us are willing to lose a job,endure ridicule, be laughed at, or lose a friendship, or take our children out of school, or give up anything really... except maybea few hours on Sunday if it doesn't conflict with our work schedule, for our Lord?

Hey ~ My step-daughter is a manager in a large insurance company. She had to send mass e-mails out the other day to let everybody know that they could wear red,white and blue for the 4th of July (actually the 3rd). She added "and let's do this in the spirit of one nation under God". She was quite taken aback and subsequently depressed when the supervisor came to her and said the VP had said she was out of line with her *one nation under God* statement. She was warned against this kind of behavior in the future. She was also condemned for a prayer she offered over lunch (with like minded co-workers) that asked that they pray when 9-11 happened. So she's had 2 warnings. She's hurt by this, and incredulous. I watch the news, and there are some high profile cases out there. But when it hits close to home, it seems even more stupid. Ah, well. The sign of the times. [eek]
