Topic: A Parent's Prayer

I pray to BE that kind of parent. My husband and I are concerned with "the world" as it is now. However, we know a lot of kids (and parents) who give us hope for a bright future for our impending daughter.
We're not nervous per se, as we believe that Christ is with us and our little girl is truly a gift from God...we just pray to be able to raise her to love Him as we do. ![[Cross]](graemlins/cross.gif)

Me neither Linda, But Melisa and i are really trying...this was a real good prayer we thought.
We want to be like that and with Gods mercy and grace we will...amen

Thanks for posting this. I confess that I am often not this kind of parent. I printed it in hopes that it will encourage me to not only confess but to repent.

Oh, God, make me a better parent. Help me to understand my
children, to listen patiently to what they have to say and to
answer all their questions kindly. Keep me from interrupting
them, talking back to them and contradicting them. Make me as
courteous to them as I would have them be to me. Give me the
courage to confess my sins against my children and to ask of
them forgiveness, when I know that I have done them wrong.
May I not vainly hurt the feelings of my children. Forbid that
I should laugh at their mistakes or resort to shame and ridicule
as punishment. Let me not tempt a child to lie and steal. So
guide me hour by hour that I may demonstrate by all I say and
do that honesty produces happiness.
