The national ID is supposed to happen, but a few states have already opted out. You can encourage your states to pass laws prohibiting the national ID.

Why is there no major revolt going on? I just found out that this is really happening RIGHT NOW.
The National ID act goes into effect May 2008. It is the *confirmed* first step in moving towards the Verichip RFID implant.

The RFID chip is going to be in EVERY Driver's License. It connects to a database with ALL of your information.
People are already being implanted (or 'Chipped') as the media is calling it. The implant is similar to the RFID in your new lisence, but it has a transmitter and is also linked to your bank and credit card accounts.
The propoganda that the media and government are using is terror based: keep your elderly safe, keep your kids safe, convenience, and prevents terrorism. You can see the articles and news reports about the Chip on Youtube, google it, or you can go to www.infowars.com it really isn't just conspiracy **** .
This is real, it is happening NOW. How can this be happening when we were warned about this 2000 years ago??
It's obvious we are really in the last seven years. It's obvious that Revelations IS for today's times and it backs up the Bible. It's also interesting, because even though the Bible is the definitive word on our future, peoples from the Mayans to the Egyptians have marked the year 2012 for centuries.
