I would like to share a ministry idea that we have implemented in my town--with much success.
I would love to see this spread throughout the country in response to the need among our young people.

How to Form a
Prodigal Child Prayer Circle

?But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found." Luke 15:32

What is the Prodigal Child Prayer Circle?
The first Prodigal Child Prayer Circle was founded in Littleton, NH, on May 27, 2003, at a non denominational Christian Women's Group under the leadership of Elizabeth Ward. Mrs. Ward saw the need for supportive prayer for teens and young adults due to her experience and the experiences of her friends. Many youth are struggling, not only spiritually but with life decisions and direction, negative influences, and strained family and personal relationships.

Mrs. Ward also identified the feelings of guilt, sense of failure, and pain shared by parents of struggling children. It can be difficult to pray objectively. The Prodigal Child Prayer Circle is a joint commitment of concerned parents to pray for each other?s children. Each parent chooses a name and prays daily for that child. Periodically the circle will meet for corporate prayer and sharing of testimonies. In respect of confidentiality, parents reveal only what they wish.

How to form your own prayer circle:
1. Two or more concerned parents agree to participate.
2. Names are written on slips, prayed over, and chosen from a basket.
3. If someone submits more than one name, then they should choose an equal number.
4. Choosing a name means a commitment to pray for a specified length of time set by the group, for example, six months. After the specified time, the group can reconvene and re-submit names.
5. The prayer circle may set a schedule of corporate prayer meetings as desired.

The Prodigal Child Prayer Circle is a new and evolving ministry. We look forward to your participation and for many ?lost sheep? to find their way home. For more information, contact Elizabeth Ward at lizanneward@yahoo.com.
