ARE YOU A GOOD PERSON????????? When Jesus was called good master he replied, Why do you call me good, only God is good. The bible says we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory. Most people will tell you they are good even though the bible says we are all sinners. The bible says if you have broken one of the commandments, you have broken them all. Let's take the goodness test. Have you ever told a lie? What does that make you? A liar. Have you ever stolen anything? What does that make you? A thief. (Don't lie to me) Have you ever used God's name in vain? What does that make you? A blasphemer. Have you ever lusted after someone? Jesus said if you even lust after someone you have committed adultery in your heart. So we are lying,thieving,blaspheming,adulterers at heart. WOW!!! If we are to be judged by this standard where do you think you would go when you die? If you are honest you would have to admit that you are destined for hell. Does that concern you? God is a perfect Spirit and He cannot take our sinful souls to heaven with Him. His covenant with us states the wages of sin is death. But in His divine mercy He decided to send His unbreakable Word(promise) to be the payment for our sins. He sent His Word(Jesus) to die on the cross in our place. This is unmerited grace. We have only Him to thank for this great gift, not any of our goodness. It is a subtle thing to think we can atone for our mistakes by trying to be good people. We must trust in the sacrifice of the cross. We must repent(change direction),thank God for His free gift of salvation, ask Him to live in us and direct our lives so we can be fruitful witnesses of Jesus. So please confess your sins to Him today and ask HIm to be your Lord and savior from this day onward. The bible says the angels in heaven rejoice over the repentance of one sinner. Is that one sinner you? Start the angels rejoicing!!!
