The purpose of this Christian BBS is to be able to discuss the Bible.

The reason I opened this message board is because I wanted a place to be able to discuss the bible with non-believers and believers alike without getting kicked off the board.

I was getting kicked off of secular message boards so I opened this one so we can witness and discuss the word of God without having to worry about getting kicked off.

Yes we are to judge by the word of God.

But know, everthing you read on here is not the word of God. You need to read the Bible for yourself and know what is right or wrong.

Plus there are many on here that sure will help you in that area if you ask.

If your looking for a Christian message board that is like a lot of Churches where you can't ask any questions or say anything, then you are in the wrong place. We are here to help others know the truth. Only the truth will set you free. And that truth is Jesus and you can learn it in the Bible. Know the Bible, because people can tell you anything they want you to hear.

David

God bless you Sister Betty, and Sister Grammajo!!

A powerful message and truly appreciated Betty. As I learned in my wastewater classes, WW is 99.99% pure water and it is only that 1% which contaminates the whole.

17: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

There was once a good Christian man who began to focus on the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He became more and more convinced that God had revealed to him the time of His coming. Those who he led were convinced that this man was truly led of God and believed what he taught.

Based on his calculations, the coming of Christ and the inauguration of the Millennial kingdom should be expected somewhere around 1843. After releasing his findings in print, he began disseminating the view on speaking tours. Later, he adjusted his calculations to conform to the "Jewish calendar", to finally arrive at the confidence that 1844 would be the last year of the present age and the beginning of the "seventh day of the creation". The date October 22, 1844, was the date commonly accepted throughout the Millerite movement as the exact date of the anticipated return of Jesus, although Miller himself was uncertain of the day. Perhaps more than 100,000 Millerites were awaiting this "Blessed Hope", some who abandoned their farms or sold their homes and left their employment, to propagate the gospel of the last days chronology.

How often a leader has been raised-up and placed in a position beyond accountability, by his followers. It is imperative for a pastor/minister of God to be accountable to his brothers and siters in Christ for any teaching and message which he brings. It is God's Holy Word which the message must be measured against.

There are so many who are very sincere in their beliefs. One can pursue truth with the deepest of sincerety and at the same time be sincerely in error.

There is no group more sincere then the Jehovah's Witnesses. They are taught that they should not interpret the Word without the aid of the Watchtower, and so God's Word is filtered through error.

There are none more sincere then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are taught that Joseph Smith was visited many times by the angel Moroni, a resurrected man and the original author of the Book of Mormon.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
The angel Moroni is the heavenly messenger who first visited the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1823. As a mortal named Moroni 2, he had completed the compilation and writing of the Book of Mormon. He ministered to Joseph Smith as a resurrected being, in keeping with his responsibility for the Book of Mormon, inasmuch as "the keys of the record of the stick of Ephraim" had been committed to him by the Lord (D&C 27:5). Pursuant to this responsibility he first appeared to Joseph Smith on the night of September 21-22, 1823 (JS—H 1:29-49; D&C 128:20), and thereafter counseled with him in several reappearances until the book was published in 1830. During that time, he instructed Joseph Smith, testified to the Three Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, and otherwise assisted in the work of restoring the gospel.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

During his "visitations" Joseph was visited by God the Father and Jesus who both possessed bodies of flesh and bone.

Along with the Book of Mormon, the prophecies and teachings of Joseph were compiled into another book, "The Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price". The Word of God is meshed with these sacred texts, and the declarations of the current Mormon President carry the weight of direct revelation from God.

Mormons are very sincere in their faith and practice.

2 Peter 3:
15: And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17: Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

We do use our bibles and we do know the difference between good and bad teaching. We also know how to acknowledge the good things. However I have much yet to learn and I don't mind the least bit to admit and say that. I'm trying even though I get really discouraged at times.

no my friend ,God gave us the Bible as our guide. We can use it to judge whether we are getting good teaching or not. The Bible was not hidden from us but given to us as a precious gift to use.
God bless you and may He show you how to use His gift wisely to judge good teaching from bad.

Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Jesus, Himself says we can judge a man by what comes out of his mouth.

God gave us His Holy Word to judge Preachers and teachers, to refuse to use His Word to judge who we should and should not listen to, is a waste.

God is the only one who can know exactly what is in everyone's heart and God is the only one who is to Judge everyone's heart. No human being on this earth can claim to be able to do what only God alone can and does do. No human being on this earth is perfect, infallible, and 100% right. If they claim to be any of the above things then they are being totally false and deluding only themselves. Human beings cannot do God's job and God will not allow any human being to do his job of knowing exactly what is in everyone's heart or judging everyone by what is in everyone's heart. God is the only one who can and will do that.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

If I found out a product was on the market that we all used, was tainted, I would be appluaded for coming here and exposing this truth. Yet, when Preachers or teachers teach contrary to the Bible, we are told to keep quiet. "Don't judge the heart!" But the Bible says that what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart.
Should we judge a speaker by God's Word? Yes, I believe so. For what is a Preacher or teacher doing, if they speak those things contrary to the Bible? Should we stay silent when we see people being mislead? I think not.
People are saying that it is one group of us against another. Is this not a Christian board. Should it not be all of against anyone who would weaken, water down, or right out tell miss truths, about God's Holy Word. Should we God's children refused to defend His Holy Word? God forbid. We God's children should be the first to stand up and defend His Holy Word against anyone.
