A three-alarm fire on the USS Bonhomie Richard (LHD 6) was reported at 8:51 a.m. on the morning of July 12, 2020 at the naval base the base located on 32nd Street in San Diego.10 hours ago
Why were other Navy ships in port in San Diego directed to provide fire parties?
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE Bonhomie Richard fire party? To bad this didn't happen at sea then the crew would of been forced to stay and fight their own fire!
There were 160 people on board and they all ran?
The fire is believed to have started below those spaces, in the lower cargo hold of the ship, known as the “Deep V,” Sobeck said.
It is a “huge open area where you store a lot of (Marine Corps) equipment and everything else,” he said. “That’s where we believe it was started.”
