Not all Muslims want to kill Christians or other people that have different view points.

To say this would be the equivalent of saying all Christians are on such fire for God that they walk the streets preaching the Lords name to every person they meet – While this would be nice and the way it should be, this is just not the case.

Like Christians, some Muslims are just not as “on fire” for their false god like others are and do not desire to kill everyone that doesn’t see things the way they do – the extremists do.

Although their religion does decree that they should kill those who stand against them, this does not meant that they will do it.

Deep down, any Muslim who tries to say the Koran does not support this idea obviously hasn’t read the Koran. Or, if they have, they must admit that their religion is a religion of hate and a promoter of evil deeds and acts.

Again, Islam teaches conversion or the sword, but that’s not how all Islamic people behave.

With you I rise,
In you I sleep,
kneeling down I kiss your feet,
Grace abounds upon me now,
I once was lost
but now I'm found.
The gift of God dwells within,
To this love I now give in.

Hello becauseHelives,
I will respond to your last post and then we can move on to something else.

The name thing is very interesting. You make a very valid point. I wonder what that "perverted" reason was.

"loving your enemy and not speaking the truth, is a lie from Satan....speaking the truth is what got the Deacon Stephen stoned to death....."

Not sure if you are saying that you are my enemy. (Because when I said I was speaking in love I was speaking to you.) Or if you are saying I am not speaking truth. Because in my estimation you cannot love someone without telling them the truth, but you most definitely can give someone the truth not in love.

I know we probably won't see eye to eye on this and I can live with that.

Peace

plankeye p ,

I will start by addressing the name issue first...
You say Yahshua was His Hebrew name.... do you not know that anywhere in the world you go, your name is and always will be your name... the name "Jesus" is a name people who mishandled the scripture used... for what ever perverted reason!

Yahweh and Yahshua were mistranslated over 7000 times in scripture....but the name of Baal was not mistranslated even one time....I find that very disturbing!

quote:
It’s hard for me to believe that you are not an American when you are so passionate about the issues going on in America.
14Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

17Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

I live here in America, as it is now I can voice my opinion, but if the stupid people running this country continue the path they are traveling....all freedoms enjoyed by people living here will disappear.

I am passionate about everything I believe...scripture commands me to be passionate about scripture and life.

many in Germany tried to warn of what was coming and Hitler's real motives were but the masses would not listen....

quote:
I can’t emphasize enough that everything that I say comes from a heart of love.
p.i.p.

loving your enemy and not speaking the truth, is a lie from Satan....speaking the truth is what got the Deacon Stephen stoned to death.....

Hello Eduardo

"Some Christians are called for a certain task to defend in peace Jesus."
I'm not sure what you mean by that. The only place that we see "some" christians be called to do something that others are not is in 1Cor 12:1-11.
Where do you find this "task" for "some christians" to "defend in peace Jesus".

"However all Christians must live their lives in accordance to what Jesus ascribed to and that is the two golden rules."
Two golden rules? Are you referring Luke 10:27 - And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
If so you are right, all christians are called to this mandate. God is no respecter of persons. He doesn't give us different calls.(as you suggest in your opening statement)Different gifts? Yes. Not different calls.

"While I read Ephesians 6: 10-21 I find that we must know our enemy and be intimantly involved almost having to be militant in our training in order to see with our Father eyes the war before us. Do not turn a blind eye to the deciever in office."

You are right we must know our enemy.
Eph 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I do not see where Islam or "the deceiver in office" is mentioned.
The true enemy the one that Paul spoke of in Eph 6. Satan. He loves that we are not turning a blind eye to "the deceiver in office". I say to you don't turn a blind eye to ...that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world...

I realize that i'm not going to change your viewpoints, so this will be the end of my time on this post. It has been a pleasure.

With respect,
p.i.p.

While I read Ephesians 6: 10-21 I find that we must know our enemy and be intimantly involved almost having to be militant in our training in order to see with our Father eyes the war before us. Do not turn a blind eye to the deciever in office. According to Revelations when someone sits on a fence and is lukewarm God will remove him from His mouth. Just because we walk in love, we should know how to defend our faith. I have studied through www.trinitytheology.org. It has great studies about alot of subjects. Some Christians even after 40 years are still chewing on baby food, perhaps its because these Christians are trying to be all things to all people and have forgotten that we must grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am know I am sinner and lack initiative in some areas of my life, but I pray to the Lord to grow more prudently, honestly, and not wavering in my love Jesus whom I call Yeshua.

Hello Eduardo,

I think we are getting somewhere now.

“God commands us to love unconditionally but that does not mean I have to water down my faith neither advocate the Islamic way.”
“The ability to be tolerable does not mean to wash down your faith.”

I agree 100%. Hope you don’t view me as having watered down faith, or as an advocate for Islam. When I think about Jesus, He was on a mission to do His Fathers will. Which did not include overthrowing the Romans and setting up an earthly kingdom, like so many wanted it to be. I think all the effort we exert into defending our beliefs and opposing “issues” is exactly what satan would have us do. He would have loved for Christ to lose sight of His mission and prove the Pharisees wrong. They were wrong, God knew it, Jesus knew it and guess who else? Yep the devil knew it. But, Jesus would not lose His focus.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We recognize that verse as the “Great Commission”. Jesus fulfilled this commision when He was on earth without getting sidetracked with the “issues”. He expects us to do the same. This IS our purpose. Not condemning the homosexuals and those who say it is alright if they get married. The verse says we are to “teach” them what Jesus commanded not condemn them with what Jesus commanded. It’s hard to teach someone you hate. Alot easier to condemn them though. Did Jesus hate those who hated Him. Did He teach them? Homosexuality, abortion, pornography, Muslim mosques being built at Ground Zero, all these things are just “issues”. Tricks of the devil to get us off track. If he can build up enough “righteous indignation” (at least that is what we tell ourselves it is.) in us so that we focus more on correcting them or telling them how wrong they are instead of showing them the love that Jesus would show them, then he (the devil) has won.

Obama, Obama, Obama,
I believe this is the underlying theme of this thread. Obama is a muslim terrorist! Fine lets say he is. Now what?

Now we can stop wasting so much energy proving he is muslim and be about our Fathers business. Which by the way is not proving the presidents religious beliefs. It is yet another “issue”. The devil wins again.

I’ll go ahead and tell you my stance on Obama. I think it would be fair for you to know.
I’m a black man. When Obama was elected I was proud to see that a black man actually could become president of these United States. I also though he would have been assassinated by now. (Remember my example of the black family moving into a white neighborhood after the fall of segregation.)

Outside of those feelings. He is just another president. He got enough people to buy what he was selling and won the election.
He is the most polarizing person I have seen in all of my 36 years. It’s fascinating to me. How one man can be looked upon as a god by some and yet like the devil by others.

I have a friend who will cut you if say anything remotely wrong about the man.
I was having lunch at her house. I mentioned that Obama had botched the handling of the oil spill much like W had done with Katrina. She told me to get out of her house. But then on the other end of the spectrum I hear that he is “worse than Hitler”. Wow! He is more polarizing than the Yankees! Simply fascinating.

So here is what I like to do. (seeing that he is not nearly as good as some think he is nor nearly as bad as others think) I like at poke at those who see him as a saviour. As well as those who see him as “worse than Hitler”. Because the truth is, he is neither of those things.
So with that in mind. Eduardo that clip you posted was almost as wreckless as your “paraphrase” from some unknown book. In the beginning of this thread. There is an unbiased clip that lasts for more than 12 seconds available. It showed the interview in context. Why not post that one? But I will not argue the fact that the words “me and my muslim faith” came from his mouth. ( I will have to use that one on my friend)
This is the thing. Now that your point is proven. What now? What is the next step in furthering the good news of Jesus dying for my sins and paying my pardon so that I can stand blameless in the Judgement? How does convincing me that Obama is muslim help me to be saved?

peace,
p.i.p.

God commands us to love unconditionally but that does not mean I have to water down my faith neither advocate the Islamic way. I will defend my right to be a Christian. Too many Churches have playcated to the Muslims by taking down their Crosses in order to appease Muslims and because of this they receive what I call the devils buy out stimulus money.

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

Matthew 5:44

(1Co 15:58) So that, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord.

The ability to be tolerable does not mean to wash down your faith. The ACLU which I perceive to be so anti-Christian that I won't believe anyone who supports that organization. Have you truly read the constitution of the US. There is no wording that says "Seperation of Church and State". I am sorry that if an adult chooses to abide in a faith that its Holy Scriptures instructs to kill innocent people than they have right to brush it off and say I won't turn out like them. The president was on public TV and was talking to George Stephanopolis and said "Me and my Muslim faith"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKGdkqfBICw

whether you want to admit it or not it comes from the horses mouth. I have atleast 10 well friends that are Islamic a few liberal, most Shiites, and as this one puts it orthodox. He said if I read the Koran and if tells me something I do it. In the latter years of our military lives he converted to Christianity. He was originally from Jordan. Geniunely speaking I believe each person has the right to chose how to worship and to convert to other beliefs. But if you let the dogma of Islam dictate that if you are not Islamic than you deserve to be considered an infidel. NOW come on who are you fooling. Have you ever wonder what happens when a Islamic teenager ends up missing here in America when they convert to other religions? There are countless people who were once Islamic missing in America. Had you ever heard about the 17 year old from Ohio who converted to Christianity out of Islam, that she feared for her life and ran. Now if Islam is peaceful why aren't they tolerable of others? If the US was an Islamic country first do you think you would have the latitude to profess your belief publically and to pursue it openly? I think not. There are professing Muslims who are peaceful but the dogma behind their beliefs teaches otherwise.

becauseHelives, I really do appreciate being able to disagree without being disagreeable. Most people will not tolerate a viewpoint different from their own.

So my friends are buttering me up for the kill. Ok lets say that is a true statement. And now I know what they are up to. What do you think my next move concerning them should be?

You are not bothered by stereo types, you are not an American citizen just a pilgrim passing through because the Lord showed you this is not your kingdom. I get exactly what you are saying. I’m looking forward to living in my Heavenly home too.

Can I share just a little from my heart? So far we have been able to communicate in a civil manner and I pray that what i’m about to say will not cause any change in that.

So i’m a fairly young man. In my thirties. I gather that you are a few years my elder. Which makes you someone that I would look up to. Let me just come right out and get to the point. I’ve been a christian for ten - eleven years now. But it was not until recently (last year) that I found out who I really was. What I mean by that is, for the longest I was a defeated christian. I loved the Lord but I was defeated because I tried living for Him in my own strength. Of course that was frustrating because my strength was just as good as my righteousness. (dirty menstrual cloth). So what did I do? I looked at the people around me, to see if they were having a similar experience. Didn’t appear that they did. Was it just me? Was I the only one that was defeated? I sure thought so. So what now? Well of course I had to put on that happy christian that has it all together mask. Can you believe I did that for ten years or so? When I think about it, it saddens me because most of christiandom resides in that very place. Defeated!
So what in the world does all that have to do with the price of tea in china? Well when I read how you don’t get bothered by being stereotyped and you only live for Yahshua, I felt like something was wrong with me, like i’m less than you or like I don't only live for Yahshua or something.(Question: is there a reason you refer to Jesus as Yahshua. I understand that is His hebrew name but we speak english. Please enlighten me.) The temptation was for me to put that mask back on and come up with a line making me equally as holy as you. But the truth is i’m not any better than you and vice-versa. We both are sinners in need of a Saviour. Thank God that I now know who I am. The whole tone of your last post reminded me of back in those days when I used to look at other christians and they would come of like they had it all together when the truth was that they were struggling just as much as me if not more.( Not saying that is your situation.) Just makes me wonder sometimes. Why? Why can’t we just “keep it real” as the boys in the hood say. It’s hard for me to believe that you are not an American when you are so passionate about the issues going on in America. Don’t get me wrong I understood your statement about not being American, but it just seemed a bit cliche’. Especially since you have such strong opinions about the presidency. Seems to me you would be a bit more apathetic if you really were not American.

My bottom line is, I know i’m not perfect, I know i’m not sanctified, i’m being sanctified but He is not done with me yet. I also know that as long as any of us are alive we still have something that God needs to work on in us. And i’ll get as far away as fast as possible from anyone who claims otherwise. So since we all are in the same boat. (Sinners in need of a Saviour who are bound to these sinful natures.) Let’s just keep it real. We may not have the same struggles but we all have struggles.

Hope I didn’t get to far off topic.
But it doesn’t seem that anything productive is coming from our discussion so far.

Hi Eduardo, i’m not sure I understand your post. It was very long so I didn’t read all of it. But it seemed like you were pointing out the difference in beliefs between chriastians and muslims. If so thanks. But i’m not sure the reason it is important. I know what I believe and I know that muslims have a different set of beliefs.

I clicked on the persecution.com link and the first verse I saw was Mat. 5:44 - “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

When the muslims (our enemies) take over America we are gonna have to love them, i’m sure they have cursed us already, is it ok to bless them yet? We know they hate us, will you do something good for a muslim? Or what about when the time comes for us infidels to die at there persecuting hands, will we like deacon Stephen pray “Lord don’t hold this sin against them.”

I can’t emphasize enough that everything that I say comes from a heart of love.
p.i.p.

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

Islam is monotheistic (Koran 3:64). The first phrase in the Declaration of the Faith states:
"I bear witness that there is no God but the Almighty God and that Mohammad is a messenger of God."[1]
"For God hath said, 'Take not to yourselves two Gods, for He is one God.'" (Sura 16:53; cp. 20:7)
"Verily God will not forgive the union of other gods with Himself." (Sura 4:51)
Islam rejects the concept of the Trinity. The Koran misrepresents the teaching of Christianity regarding the Godhead, claiming Christians believe in "three Gods" - Father, Mother, and Son. (Sura 5:116, 5:73-75; cp. (Koran 5:114)
In the account of creation recorded in the book of Genesis, God speaks plurally of His own Person. (Genesis 1:26, 27; cp. Genesis 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:3, 8)

The Christian Scriptures, both New and Old Testaments, teach that the Godhead consists of three persons in one: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 11:2 "...the Spirit... the Lord... Him"
Isaiah 42:1 "My Servant... I... My Spirit... upon Him"
Isaiah 48:16 "The Lord God... His Spirit... sent Me"
Isaiah 61:1 "Spirit of the Lord God... upon Me ... the Lord"
Isaiah 63:9 "He...the Angel of His Presence... His Holy Spirit"
Matthew 1:20, 21 "the Lord (the Father)... the Holy Spirit ... Jesus"
Matthew 3:16, 17 "Jesus... the Spirit of God... a Voice from heaven (the Father)"
Matthew 12:18 "I... My Spirit... on Him"
Matthew 22:42, 43 "Christ... the Spirit... Lord (the Father)"
Acts 11:16, 17 "the Lord... the Holy Spirit... God... the Lord Jesus Christ"
Acts 20:21-23 "God... Jesus... the Holy Spirit"
Romans 1:1, 3, 4 "God... His Son, Jesus Christ... the Spirit"
Romans 5:5, 6 "God... the Holy Spirit... Christ"

Muhammad was not divine but the last of the prophets - the very one predicted in Moses' day[2]:
"I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brethren; and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. And whoever will not give heed to My words which he shall speak in My name, I, Myself, will require it of him." (Deuteronomy 18:18, 19)
"Mohammad... is the messenger of God and the Khatam [seal, closure, end, or last] of the prophets..." (Koran 33:40)
"The Prophet Mohammad said to his cousin Ali: 'Thy position from me compares to the position of Aaron from Moses, but there will be no prophet after me.'"[3]
Jesus was not divine, but merely a prophet.
Jesus claimed to be God. He accepted worship, forgave sins, lived a sinless life, possessed all the attributes of God, and raised himself from the dead.

On the Deity of Jesus Christ

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

Islam considers Jesus a prophet just like Moses, Abraham, and Noah. [4]
Mohammad and the Arabs are descendants of Ishmael, which Islam claims Jesus said by their interpretation of Matthew 21:42-44 would supersede the Israelite nation. [5]

Islam rejects the divinity of Jesus Christ:

"The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was no more than Allah's apostle and His Word which He cast to Mary; a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His apostles and do not say: 'Three.' ...Allah is but one God...." (Koran 4:171)
"...Then Allah will say: 'Jesus, the son of Mary, did you ever say to mankind: 'Worship me and my mother as gods beside Allah?'" (Koran 5:114)
Jesus was more than a prophet. He is God. (Matthew 17:5; Mark 1:1; Luke 1:35; Philippians 2:6; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 4:15)
He claimed to be God: John 4:26; 8:23; 10:30; 13:13; 14:7-10
He accepted worship: Matthew 8:2; 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; 18:26; 28:9, 17; Mark 5:6; Luke 24:52; John 5:22, 23; John 9:38
He forgave sins: Matthew 9:6 Mark 2:7
"He was God manifest in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16), "for in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9) God was in Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:19), Who is "the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person..." (Hebrews 1:3)

By the names attributed to him in Scripture - "Alpha and Omega," "Immanuel" (meaning, God With Us), "My Lord and my God," "etc. - the deity of Jesus Christ is seen.

Jesus Christ possessed all the attributes of God: omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, immutability, etc. See also http://www.dianedew.com/deity.htm

God has no sons:

"...Allah forbid that He should have a son." (Koran 4:171)
"It is not meet for God to have children." (Koran 19.92)
"He begets not, nor he is begotten, and there is none like unto him." (Koran 112:3)
"No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with him. [if so] then behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! from things they attribute to Him." (Koran 23:91)
"And they say, 'The Most Gracious Has betaken a son!' Indeed you have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it the skies are bout to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin: That they attributed a son to the Most Gracious. For it is not consonant with the majesty of the Most Gracious that He should beget a son. Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to the Most Gracious as a servant. He does take an account of them [all], and numbered them exactly, and everyone of them will come to him singly on the day of judgment." (Koran 19:88)
"And (they) impute falsely, without knowledge, sons and daughters unto Him...How can He have a child when there is no consort for him...?" (Koran 6:101-103)
The Father declared Jesus to be His Son:

"Thou art my son. This day have I begotten you." (Hebrews 5:5; cp. Psalms 2:7)
Jesus himself claimed to be the Son of God:

Luke 22:70; John 10:36; 19:7
The angel declared Jesus the Son of God:

"And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and... that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35)
Even demons confessed Jesus the Son of God:

"And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God." (Mark 3:11; cp. Luke 4:41; 8:28)
Many others professed or addressed Jesus as the Son of God - and were not rebuked for it:

"Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God." (Matthew 14:33)
"Nathanael answered... Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel." (John 1:49)
"She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." (John 11:27)
"Now when the centurion... saw the earthquake ...they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God." (Matthew 27:54; cp. Mark 15:39)
"And the high priest answered... tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God." (Matthew 26:63)
The gospel writers, inspired by the Holy Spriit, testified of Jesus' Sonship:

"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God" (Mark 1:1)
"And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God." (John 1:34)
Jesus' Sonship - his relationship with the Father - was the subject of preaching in the early church:

"... he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God." (Acts 9:20)
Unbelievers - and Satan himself - challenged Jesus' Sonship:

"...save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross." (Matthew 27:40)
"If thou be the Son of God..." (Matthew 4:3, 6; cp. Luke 4:3, 9)
Confessing Jesus is the Son of God is essential to salvation: 1 John 4:15; cp. Acts 8:37; 1 John 5:5, 10, 12, 13 (See also: John 5:25; 9:35; 11:4; 20:31; Romans 1:4; 2 Corinthians 1:19; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 4:13; Hebrews 4:14; 6:6; 10:29; 1 John 3:8; 5:20; Revelation 2:18)

All who profess the Lordship of Jesus Christ are adopted sons of God: John 1:12; 3:18; Phl 2:15; 1 John 3:1, 2

Jesus Christ was a created being.

"Jesus is like Adam in the sight of Allah. he created him of dust and then said to him: 'Be,' and he was." (Koran 3:55, 58)

Jesus Christ was pre-existent to creation.

On Salvation

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

Islam rejects the doctrine of original sin[6].
Mohammad said, "Every human being is born in a state of a pure nature; but through the influence of his parents, he may become non-Moslem." [7]
"Whoever goes aright, for his own soul he goes aright; and whoever goes astray, to his own detriment he goes astray. And no bearer of a burden bears another's burden..." (Koran 53:38)
"...no soul earns (evil) but against itself. Nor does a bearer of a burden bear the burden of another." (Koran 6:165)
"So whoever does an atom's weight of good will se it and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it." (Koran 99:7, 8)
The Bible teaches man is born into sin.
By Adam's sin (Genesis 3), death spread to all mankind: Genesi 5:3 with 1:24, 25; Psalms 51:5; Romans 5:12, 14).
None is born without the mark of sin upon his soul; "all have sinned." (2 Chronicles 6:36; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10, 12, 23; 5:12, 14; 11:32; Ephesians 2:3; 1 John 1;10)

Salvation comes only through Allah. Only those who obey Allah and Mohammed his prophet can enter into Heaven:
"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (Submission to Allah), Never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost ." (Koran 3:85; cp. 5:10; 25:68)
Those who "believe not in Allah and His Messenger, He has prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire!" (Koran 48:13)
Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ:
"Neither is there salvation in any other [than Jesus]: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
Also see: John 8:24; 14:6; 10:1-2, 9; Acts 4:12; Revelation 5:1-9; 1 John 2:22, 23; Isaiah 43:11; Hosea 13:4; 1 Timothy 2:5
Also see http://www.dianedew.com/salvatn.htm

Islam denies the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus never died:
"They denied the truth and uttered a monstrous falsehood against Mary. They declared: 'We have put to death the Messiah Jesus the son of Mary the apostle of Allah.' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but they thought they did... They have no knowledge thereof but the pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain, but God took him up to Himself." (Koran 4:154-158)
Jesus died and rose again.
"Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him." (Romans 6:9)
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." (Philippians 2:8)
"For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator." (Hebrews 9:16)
Also see: Luke 18:33; 24:20; John 11:13; 12:33; Acts 2:24; 22:20; Romans 5:10; 1 Corinthians 11:26; 15:19, 20, 22; Hebrews 2:14; etc.
Also see http://www.dianedew.com/resurctn.htm

Salvation must be earned:

By good works:

"Every man's actions have we hung around his neck, and on the last day shall be laid before him a wide-open book." (Koran 17:13)

By almsgiving[22]:

"Lend to God a good loan." (Surah 73:20)
"...the Koran regularly enjoins the giving of alms (zakah), as the outward sign of piety and means of salvation... an obligatory contribution... to be exacted from all who, whether voluntarily or under constraint, enter into the brotherhood of Islam; but it is not a tax. Rather is it to be regarded as a loan made to God... Free-will offerings are also a means of expiating offences..."[8]
The root meaning of the word Zakat (almsgiving) is "to purify."[23] Surah 9:103 says: "Take of their wealth an offering to purify them and cleanse them thereby."
The only sure way to make it to heaven is for a Muslim to die in a jihad ("holy war").

Salvation comes only by faith, through grace:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8, 9)
"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight... being justified freely by his grace... Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay; but by the law of faith.. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." (Romans 3:20, 24, 27, 28)
"Now to him that worketh is the reward nor reckoned of grace, but of debt.... Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.... Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace..." (Romans 4:4, 6, 16)

On divine providence:
"...so whoever is willing, he may take a path to his Lord. And you do not will unless God wills..." (Koran 76:29, 30)
"Thou causest to err thereby whomever Thou pleasest and guidest whomever Thou pleasest..." (Koran 7:155)
Man has free will.
"Whosoever will, let him drink freely of the river of life" (Revelation 22:17; cp. John 3:15, 16; etc.)

On Eternal Judgment

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

On Paradise:

Those who kill or are killed by unbelievers will return to the garden of Paradise (Koran 9:111), where they will enjoy many lustful pleasures - sex with virgins, pleasant food and drink, etc.:

"They shall recline on jeweled couches face to face, and there shall wait on them immortal youths with bowls and ewers and a cup of purest wine... with fruits of their own choice and flesh of fowls that they relish. And theirs shall be the dark-eyes houris (celestial virgins), chaste as hidden pearls: a guerdon for their deeds." (Koran 56:15)
"pure beautiful ones... goodly things, beautiful ones, pure ones confined to the pavilions that man has not touched them before..." (Koran 56:54, 67-71)
On Heaven:
Those who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and submitted their lives to his Lordship will enjoy eternal bliss in heaven, where there will be no pain or sorrow, no disease or death.

See http://www.dianedew.com/heaven.htm

On Hell:
"Those who invoke a god other than Allah not only should meet punishment in this world but the Penalty on the Day of Judgment will be doubled to them, and they will dwell therein in ignominy." (Koran 25:68)
"Non-believers will go to hell and will drink boiling water" (14:17).
"...the unbelievers... shall have a great punishment in world hereafter" (Koran 5:34).
"We shall say: 'Lay hold of him and bind him. Burn him in the fire of Hell, then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long. For he did not believe in Allah, the Most High...'" (Koran 69:28)
"Would that you knew what the fire of Hell is like! It leaves nothing, it spares no one; it burns the skins of men. It is guarded by nineteen keepers." (Koran 74:19)
On Hell:
Those who reject Jesus Christ will suffer eternal torments in hell.

On Creation

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

The Genesis account should not be taken literally, as it contains discrepancies.[9] The earth is billions of years old.
Creation took eight days, it says in Surah 41:9, 10, 12. Surah 10:3, however, states creation took six days.
A literal interpretation of Scripture indicates the earth is only a few thousand years old.
God created the universe in six days and rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 1:1 to 2:2)

The universe was produced by a "big bang" (Koran 21:30), produced by a kind of gas.[10] (Koran 41:11)
The Koran states God created every living thing from water.[11 (Koran 21:30; 24:45)
"In the beginning, God" (Genesis 1:1) alone existed.

God spoke the universe into existence by a word.

Genesis 1:20-21, 24 "And God said... and it was so." (Cp. Psalm 148:5)

See http://www.dianedew.com/creation.htm
The Creator did not rest: "We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in six days, nor did any sense of weariness touch us." (Koran 50:38) God rested on the seventh day: "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed." (Exodus 31:17).

On The Word of God

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

One of the 5 tenets to which Muslims must adhere is a belief in the 4 inspired books - the Torah (5 books of Moses), Zabur (the psalms), lnjil (the gospel), and Koran. The Christian Scriptures are incomplete without the Koran.[12]
In addition to the Koran, Muslims look to the Sunna (sayings of Muhammad), for inspiration. This collection is called the Hadith. [13]
Adding to God's Word has serious consequences. (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18)
On authorship and inspiration:
The Koran claims divine authorship and inspiration:

"This is indeed a Qur'an most honourable, a Book well-guarded... a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds." (Koran 56:77-80)
"This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by anyone other than God." (10:37)
The Koran contains no human words[14]:

"No prophet except Mohammad has claimed that his book contains the very words of God. Moses... conveyed the heavenly message by his own words... not the very words of God.... Jesus spoke the truth which he received, but he spoke in his own words. The Bible, at best, is considered a dialogue between God and man." [15]
On authorship and inspiration:
The New Testament undeniably declares the inspiration of the Old Testament (the contents of which the Koran denies):

Matthew 1:22; 2:15; 3:3; 4:14; 8:17; 12:17; 13:35; 21:4; 22:42; Mark 12:36; Acts 1:16; 4:25; 28:25; 1 Peter 1:10-11; 2 Peter 1:21
See also: http://www.dianedew.com/wrtnword.htm

On inerrancy:
Islam claims the Koran is without contradiction:

"Do they not ponder on the Qur'an? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy." (Sura 4:82)
However, see http://www.rim.org/muslim/quranproblems.htm

Islam denies that any words of the Koran have been altered.[16] However, the Koran contains many textual variants. (It's not in its original form.) See http://www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Text/
On inerrancy:
The Bible is without error:

Isaiah 34:16; 55:10-11; Psalms 119:96, 128, 160; 138:2; Matthew 5:18; Luke 16:17; John 10:35; 1 Peter 1:23-25

The Koran will never perish:
"Certainly we have revealed the Reminder (the Koran), and we shall preserve it." (Koran 15:9)
"It (the Koran) is an invincible book. Falsehood does not invade it neither from before it nor from behind it, a revelation from a a Mighty, Praised." (Koran 41:41, 42)
The Written Word of God, the Bible, is eternal:
Psalms 119:89; Isaiah 30:8; 40:8; Jeremiah 36:22-23, 27-28, 32; Matthew 5:17-18; 24:35; Luke 21:33; 1 Peter 1:23-25

On Murder, Violence, War & Oppression

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

On Murder and Violence:

Islam both allows and forbids murder and violence, depending on who is the recipient of the act.

Allowed:

"Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme." (Koran 8:37)
The Koran instructs not to make friendship with Jews and Christians (Koran 5:51) but to war against them: "When the Sacred Months are over, kill those who ascribe partners to God wheresoever ye find them; seize them, encompass them, and ambush them; then if they repent and observe prayer and pay the alms, let them go their way (Koran 4:5). "Fight against those who believe not in God nor in the Last Day, who... refuse allegiance to the True Faith from among those who have received the Book, until they humbly pay tribute out of hand." (Koran 9:29) Note: These verses distinguish between warfare against pagans, and against Jews and Christians.[17]
"...kill the disbelievers wherever we find them" (Koran 2:191); "fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem" (Koran 9:5); "murder them and treat them harshly" (Koran 9:123).
"Seize ye him, and bind ye him, And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! So no friend hath he here this Day. Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, Which none do eat but those in sin." (Koran 69:30-37)
"Strike off the heads of the disbelievers"; and after making a "wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives" (Koran 47:4).
"Instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers"; "smite above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them" (Koran 8:12; cp. 8:60).
"O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern against them. Their abode is Hell - an evil refuge indeed" (Koran 9:73).
"slay or crucify or cut the hands and feet of the unbelievers, that they be expelled from the land with disgrace..." (Koran 5:34).
"for them (the unbelievers) garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowels and skin shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods" (Koran 22:19-22)
Forbidden:

"And slay not the soul which God has forbidden except for the just cause..." (Koran 17:33)
"...If anyone killed a person not in retaliation for murder or to spread mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed the whole of mankind. And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the whole of mankind" (Surah Al-Maaida 5:32)
"Fight for the sake of Allah those that fight against you, but do not attack them first. Allah does not love the aggressors." (Koran 2:190)
"…when it is said to them; 'Make not mischief on the Earth', they say; 'We are only peace makers'. Indeed they are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive it not" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:11-12)
The Prophet Mohamad said to his army before going to a fight "Depart in the name of Allah, and by his help. And kill not any old man nor young boy nor child, nor woman, But be good doers for Allah loves those who do good. (Hadeeth)
On Murder:
Forbidden:

"Thou shalt not kill (murder)." (Exodus 20:13; Deuteronomy 5:17)
"...murders... they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:21)
"...no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (1 John 3:15)
"...murderers... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)
"For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters..." (Revelation 22:15)
Jesus and Paul both reiterated the Old Testament prohibition against murder:

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment." (Matthew 5:21)
"...Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill...." (Romans 13:9)
Murder is listed right alongside sins like sorcery, fornication, robbery.

"Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings..." (Galatians 5:21)
"Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts." (Revelation 9:21)
"...murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars..." (Revelation 21:8)

On Violence:

God destroyed the earth with a flood because of the extent violence had spread:

"...the earth was filled with violence... Then God said to Noah, 'The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence... behold, I am about to destroy them...'" (Genesis 6:13).
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven..." (Matthew 5:43, 45)

Oppression of the innocent is condemned throughout Scripture:

See:
www.blueletterbible.org/tmp_dir/words/1003593496.html

Allah himself is really the one slaying them:

"It is not us who slay them but Allah, in order that He might test the Believers by a gracious trial from Himself." (Koran 8:17; cp. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:190)
Allah "will punish them by our hands..." (Koran 9:14).

Jihad is mandatory.

"Unless we go forth, (for Jihad) He will punish us with a grievous penalty, and put others in our place" (Koran 9:38-39).
"And what is the matter with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and for those weak, ill treated and oppressed among men, women and children whose only cry is; 'Our Lord, rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors..." (Surah An-Nisa 4:75)
"Believers, when you encounter the armies of the infidels do not turn your backs to them in flight. If anyone on that day turns his back to them, except it be for tactical reasons, or to join another band he shall incur the wrath of Allah and Hell shall be his home: an evil fate." (Koran 8:12-17)

"The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and make reconciliation his reward is due from Allah: For (Allah) loves not those who do wrong." (Koran 42:40)
"You have heard it said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, do not resist him who is evil; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. (Matthew 5:38, 39)"
It is acceptable to break treaties and obligations with pagans and make war on them whenever strong enough to do so (Koran 9:3).
Treachery and lying are forbidden. (Matthew 5:33-37) Better to suffer wrong than not to keep one's word. (Proverbs)

On the Treatment of Women

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

Men have authority over women. (Koran 2:228)

In the home:

"Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the others, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them." (Koran 4:34)
"Mothers shall suckle their children two years completely, for such as desire to fulfill the suckling....But if the couple desire by mutual consent and consultation to wean, then it is no fault in them." (Koran 2:233)
Women who disobey their husband will go to hell. (Koran 66:10).
"Thou mayest decline for the present whom thou wilt of them, and thou mayest take to thy bed her whom thou wilt, and whomsoever thou shalt long for of those thou shalt have before neglected; and this shall not be a crime in thee. Thus will it be easier to give them the desire of their eyes... and to satisfy them with what thou shalt accord to each of them." (Koran 33:51)
In society:

Women do not have equal right to their inheritance (Koran 4:11-12) Women receive half of the male share for an equivalent degree of kinship.[24]
Women who disobey should be beaten:

"Good women are obedient.... As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them." (Koran 4:34)
Spiritually, there is neither male nor female in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

In the home, Scripture outlines the divinely established order.

Husbands are responsible to maintain proper order and government in the family. (1 Timothy 3:4, 5, 12; Titus 1:6) The husband's primary obligation is to love his wife: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself up for her... So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church..." (Ephesians 5:28, 29; cp. Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7)
Wives are exhorted to respect and obey their husband: "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord." (Colossians 3:18; cp. 1 Corinthians 11:3, 8, 9; Ephesians 5:22-24, 33; 1 Timothy 2:11, 12; Titus 2:3-5; 1 Peter 3:1, 2, 5, 6)
A woman who knows her husband loves her - having her best interests in mind - has no problem submitting to him.

On Morals
Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

Muhammad, who himself had 11 wives[19], allowed marriage of up to four wives. (Koran 33:51)

"Of women who seem good in your eyes, marry but two, or three, or four; and if ye still fear ye shall not act equitably, then one only."
Islam also allows sexual intercourse with one's slave maids and as many 'captive' women as one desires (Koran 4:3) - even if those women are married.

Part of the Koran, however, states that fornication and adultery are sin:

"And go not nigh to fornication; surely it is an obscenity. And evil is the way." (Koran 17:32)
Adultery and fornication are forbidden. (Genesis 20:9; Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18; 23:17, 18; Leviticus 18:20; 2 Samuel 13:12; Matthew 5:27; 14:34; 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; Romans 13:9; 1 Corinthians 6:15; 10:8; James 2:11)

Sexual immorality is exceedingly "evil" and "wicked." (Genesis 39:9; Leviticus 19:29; Deuteronomy 22:22-24; 1 Samuel 2:22-23; 1 Corinthians 5:13) It greatly displeases God (Hosea 4:1-2, 11) and provokes Him to anger (Numbers 25:1, 3; Ezekiel 16:26; Colossians 3:5-6). God hates it. (Proverbs 22:14) "For this is a heinous crime" (Job 31:1, 9-12), "villainy" (Jeremiah 29:22-23) and filthiness (Revelation 17:4). "They know not the light" but "are in the terrors of the shadow of death" (Job 24:15-17). It is "the way of hell;" "the dead are there" (Proverbs 7:27; 9:13-18).

The words of anyone who defends such "unfruitful works of darkness" (Ephesians 5:3, 11-12) are "contrary to sound doctrine" (1 Timothy 1:9-10).

Gambling and drunkenness are prohibited:

"O you who believe, intoxicants and games of chance... are only an uncleanness, the devil's work; so shun it, that you may succeed. The devil desires only to create enmity and hatred among you by means of intoxicants and games of chance, and to prevent you from the remembrance of God and from prayer. So will you obey this prohibition?" (Koran 5:90, 91)

On Prayer, Fasting & Worship

Z Islam Teaches...
† Christianity Teaches...

Muslims must recite prayers in praise of Allah five times daily while facing Mecca, the city where Allah revealed the Koran to Muhammad. Prayer must be performed at prescribed hours and in a definite pattern of word and posture.
"Whichever way you depart, face toward the Holy Mosque: and wherever you are, face toward it, so that men will have no cause to reproach you, except the evil-doers among them." (Koran 2:150)
"Believers, do not approach your prayers when you are drunk, but wait till you can grasp the meaning of your words..." (Koran 2:4:43)
Every Muslim - at least "he who can find a way thither" (Surah 3:97) - must make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his/her life: "Fulfill the pilgrimage and the visitation unto God." (Surah 2:196-197)
Christianity presents prayer, fasting and worship as arising totally without compulsion or obligation, but wholly from the heart. See the following links:
http://www.dianedew.com/prayerbs.htm

http://www.dianedew.com/worship.com

Fasting is required of every Muslim for one month per year. This fast is complete abstinence, during daylight hours, from all food, drink, tobacco and sexual intercourse. [17]

Fasting is to be done in a manner of humility and secrecy.
Matthew 6:16-18 "Moreover when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; that thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret..."

Luke 18:9-14 "And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray... The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are... I fast twice in the week, I give tithes... And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to this house justified rather than

the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

Abdul Hamid Farid writes that "The Messenger of God used to teach the Muslims, when they set out toward graves, to say, "Peace be to you, O ye of the believers and Muslims dwelling in these abodes! ...We beg of God safety for us and for you ...May God forgive us and you!..."[20]
"(Once) the Prophet of God passed by (certain graves of Al-Madinah. Turning his face toward them, he said, "Peace be to you, O ye dwellers of these tombs! May God forgive us and you! Ye are our forerunners and we are at your heels."[20]

Farid also writes: "Ayeshah said that whenever it was her night with the Messenger of God, she noticed that he would set out, in the last watch of the night, toward Baqi and (there) he would say: "Peace be to you, O ye of the party of believers dwelling in these abodes! That which was promised unto you for the morrow hath reached you. Ye were given respite. And behold, if God will, we shall met you. O God! Forgive Thou these inmates of Baqi-al-Gharqad [the burial ground at Al-Madinah]."[21]
Contacting or praying to the dead ("necromancy") is forbidden by God in the Christian Scriptures (Deuteronomy 18:10, 11). God calls it an "abomination."
Also see: 1 Samuel 28:3-20; 2 Chronicles 10:13, 14; Isaiah 8:19-22. The punishment for contacting the dead is very severe.

Hello plankeye p, it is a pleasure to see you here, hope you stay... there are some good people here that love the Lord and we don't always agree...

you have read the lives of two very peaceful Muslims liars.

they are buttering you up for the kill...as you said

yes I have been stereo typed but it does not bother me, I live only to please Yahshua....

I do not like this president but I didn't like the one before him either or the one before him or the one before him....(but this one is worse than Hitler)....

I do not vote, I quit voting when the Lord showed me this is not my Kingdom, 30 years ago.

I am not an American, i am a Christian living in America....

i would leave but Yahshua has not given me direction to leave

quote:
I wonder how we would react if somehow the roles were reversed. What if it was our church building project that was causing everyone to become bent out of shape? How would we react then?
you don't know much about what going on in America these days do you?

Christian beliefs are under attack on every front!

I agree.....Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets

Amen Eduardo Grequi

In the early days of Islam the leaders of the faith went across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe and forced non Muslims to convert or die or be put into slaverly, just as the Roman Catholic church did during 1300-1500. Convert, leave or die. Now Koran teaches do not suffer a Jew or Christian to live and kill the infidel. When not if Islam surpasses the non Muslims in this country and other western countries they will not treat you the same. There is power in numbers. Satan knows that. Yes America will be a Muslim nation one day and then it will become a Socialist Islamic Federation. Most westen nations abort more babies as birth control then any third world countries. I believe that narrow is way that leads to God and few be on it and wide is the road to destruction. Hello becauseHelives,
First let me say it is pleasure to correspond with you.

Next, You ever hear that saying "you are the only bible some people will ever read"? I have never read the quaran but I have read the lives of two very peaceful muslims. Muslims who bear more fruit than a lot of christians I know. None the less my statement earlier about the muslims of 9/11 and the Ground Zero muslims was not based on any factual knowledge. It was based more on knowledge of stereo types and broad statements. You ever been stereotyped becauseHelives? I have and it sucks! You ever have someone lock their car door because you are walking past; just because you are black? I have. It sucked! Before I get too far of subject I want to say i'm a black man who hates watermelon, cannot run fast and has no rhythm. How's that for stereotypes? But I do love fried chicken! lol. Maybe there is something to stereotypes after all. So back to the muslims, maybe i'm wrong for thinking that my muslim friends don't want to kill me because i'm an infidel, maybe they are just buttering me up for the kill or maybe it is not right to make a broad statement like there are no peaceful muslims. Idk. I've always been a little to trusting and naive.

As for your three building projects they all should be approved. It's America.

As for the rest of your post. I think we can agree that this is where the real heart of the issue is. your quote was perfect. "It's not a question of rights, but a question of what is right". From where I stand they have the right to build their building just as much as any christian church had the right to build there. It seems as if opponents of the building want to take away that right. As wrong as it is, it still is their right. Why stress over it? What will happen as a result of the building is yet to be seen. I do have a hunch that some real ugly things are going to come about. And the sad thing is I think it will be us bitter christians doing them. (You ever seen the documentary "Lord save us from your followers"?) Man! We christians can get real ugly at times. Yeah we are right on a lot of issues but at the same time we are wrong. (Rom 1:18)

You used words like accommodate, appeasing and tolerant when describing America's relation to muslims. Is that what is really happening or are we just being American and allowing them to enjoy the freedoms that we all enjoy in America. I wonder how we would react if somehow the roles were reversed. What if it was our church building project that was causing everyone to become bent out of shape? How would we react then? We probably would say it's our right buddy so take a hike. Idk.
My bottom line on this matter is:
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

I like this version better:
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

In love p.i.p.

plankeye p , there are no peaceful Muslims, anyone that is not a Muslim is an infidel and must die....that what their holy book demands!

Ground Zero Mosque Would Embolden Our Enemy
by Gary Bauer
08/08/2010

In America today, which of these building projects is most likely to be approved?

1. A synagogue in Dearborn, Mich.—a.k.a. “Dearbornistan.”

2. An evangelical church in the mostly gay Castro District in San Francisco.

3. A mega-mosque in New York City just steps from the site where 3,000 Americans perished at the hands of radical Islamists.

You know the answer. Approval for construction of the Ground Zero Mosque is more proof of the ridiculous lengths to which liberal elites will go to accommodate Islam, even as they hector those who do not share their view. Once erected, the 13-story mosque will embolden our enemies and make America more vulnerable to attack.

Mosque proponents, including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the New York Times and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), are quick to accuse those who oppose the mosque being built so close to Ground Zero of bigotry.

But they are less keen to acknowledge the bigotry of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the man behind the mosque project. Rauf refuses to denounce Hamas, the terrorist group currently launching rocket attacks at Israel from Gaza. He has called the U.S. an accessory to 9/11. And he’s a big fan of sharia law, the Islamic legal system that promotes the brutal subjugation of women, gays, and religious minorities throughout the Muslim world.

To the left, though, the real bigots are the families of 9/11 victims who oppose the mosque. And those who, knowing that scores of American mosques have been cited for encouraging violence of the kind we saw on 9/11, are concerned about what might be taught there.

It is often said that the left is in the grips of a stifling political correctness about Islam and Islamic terrorism. But it’s much worse than just political correctness. The left and much of the media prostrate themselves before our enemy, accommodating and appeasing it to the point of absurdity.

It is as if they’re trying to compensate for previous mistreatment of Muslim Americans. Only we have nothing to compensate for as Muslim Americans have never been institutionally discriminated against. Nor do we have anything to “prove” to the Muslim world, much of which does not allow religious liberty.

We accommodate Islam by allowing Muslim extremists to recruit in our prisons and by whitewashing Islamic history in our children’s textbooks. We appease Islam by refusing to name it as our enemy’s inspiration. When Ft. Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hassan repeatedly demonstrated his Islamic extremism and hatred of America, he was promoted, not investigated by military brass afraid of being labeled Islamophobic.

Gitmo has earned the nickname the “American Madrassa” because of the extreme religious accommodation that goes on there. Muslim inmates are given prayer beads and rugs, special halal meals and copies of the Koran. U.S. guards are required to wear gloves when handling the Koran, playing to the Muslim bigotry that infidels (us!) are so unclean that we must not be allowed even to touch their holy book.

Americans have no reason to feel guilty for alleged intolerance toward Islam. We are one of the most tolerant nations in the world. As various European countries ban the burka, bar all new mosque development and consider halting all immigration from Muslim nations, we go out of the way to welcome Muslims. Many immigrants come because they would rather be a minority in a free country than a majority under a despotic Muslim regime.

The U.S. already contains more than 1,200 mosques, more than 100 of which are in New York City. Our Presidents constantly refer to Islam as a “great religion.” Nearly 100,000 people from Muslim countries immigrate to the U.S. every year.

The tolerance of average Americans for Islam has been proved again and again—perhaps most of all by the conspicuous lack of attacks against Muslim Americans after 9/11, and after the numerous subsequent Islam-inspired attacks on U.S. soil.

Far from a nation of Islamo-phobes, we become more accommodating of Islam after each Islamic-inspired attack on our country.

Nobody is saying Muslims don’t have a right to build mosques in Manhattan. It’s that they ought not to build one mere steps from Ground Zero out of respect for the families of those who died on 9/11. As the Anti-Defamation League stated, it is not “a question of rights, but a question of what is right.”

Rauf and his partners should follow the example of Pope John Paul II. In 1993, the pope told a group of Roman Catholic nuns to move their convent at the Auschwitz death camp in Poland to another convent within the diocese. They moved out of respect and compassion for the feelings of Jews, more than one million of whom were exterminated at the camp.

Rauf says he is building the mosque to promote interreligious understanding. But his insensitive plan has done the opposite. If he were serious about building comity, he would move the mosque to another location in the city. I’m not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

Mayor Bloomberg, who has no interest in finding out whether Saudi money is funding the project, says that to prohibit the mosque’s construction would “betray our values and play into our enemies’ hands.” “In fact,” he said, “to cave to popular sentiment would be to hand a victory to the terrorists, and we should not stand for that.”

The opposite is true. The Ground Zero mosque would hand the terrorists a great symbolic victory. Symbolism is very important to our enemies. It’s the reason why on 9/11 they targeted the symbols of American strength—the Twin Towers, the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon.

The 9/11 attacks sent a message to radical Islamists across the globe that the “Great Satan” was vulnerable and could be crippled. The Ground Zero Mosque would be viewed by jihadists as a monument to their “triumph” on that hellish day.

It would also be a giant emblem of America’s unwillingness to come to terms with the nature of the Islamist threat we continue to face. It would thus embolden America’s enemies and put more American lives at risk.

have taken a look at how Christianity is be treated in this country and around the globe?

Very informative video. The one thing that made me say wow, was the fact that the Muslim membership has surpassed the Catholics.

Eduardo I fear that this will come off as argumentative or combative. But let me assure you that is not my intention. Everything I say is said in love.

Is there a separation of church and state in this country? Why is it such a big deal for a religious group to build a place of worship in America? Doesn't it happen all the time? I know the real issue is not the mosque being built, it's were it's being built. But the bottom line is this is America and in America if you acquire a piece of land you can build what you want on that land as long as it meets whatever codes and zoning requirements. It seems the builders of the mosque have met all the requirements. So what's the big deal. Let them build their building. It is their right. I believe this is what Obama was referring to when he said he supported their rights. If you are an American you have to support their rights. Because you exercise those very rights. It is what makes America beautiful. In my eyes that should be the end of the discussion. Because beyond that everyone involved knows exactly what they are getting into. The muslims know what happened on that spot. They know the mosque is unwelcome by those who lost loved ones on that very spot. Although I think their sentiment would be that they aren't one and the same as those who terrorized on 9/11. Kinda like we christians would say that we are not one and the same with the christians of the dark ages. But never-less they know the hostile situation they are getting into. Kinda reminds me of another part of American history. After segregation certain blacks acquired land and homes in certain neighborhoods where they were not welcome. But they decided to go ahead and live there anyway. They knew the hell they were going to face just like the muslims know what they are facing. So I say what's the big deal?

Man that felt like a soap box!

One last thing:

Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, remembers what Obama wrote in one of his books.

"This is a bit of a paraphrase: 'When ill winds blow,' he said, 'I will always stand with the Muslims,'" she cites. [Editor's note - Actual quote: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."]

Do you think it is fair to post paraphrases of comments written in an un-named book. Why not give which book the quote was taken from so the reader can go and read the quote in its full context?

Once again all i have written is coming from a stance of love. I pray that you are not offended by my comments.

Peace,
p.i.p.

because faith in Yahweh has been lost in the Church, what has been stated in the video will come to pass.

Yahshua asks in Luke 18:8; Will the Son of Man find faith when He returns.

people have feel good religion in the day we live, not faith that saves....faith that saves preserves that which it touches, just s salt perseveres that which it surrounds and permeates!

Yahweh calls children a blessing ...yet the Church and Church leaders call them a curse...

in the Church anyone with more than 2 children are made fun of and thought strange!

the scriptures commanded be fruitful and multiply

so called Christians say they are against abortion yet by the means of birth control they abort million of potential seed for Yahweh;s Kingdom on the same alter of convenience and personal success ....

true faith obeys Yahweh's word....

disobedience is as the sin of witchcraft......

A Messianic Jewish leader and supporter of Israel thinks President Obama's recent comments made to a Muslim group clearly illustrate his sentiments are with Islam -- just as he promised in his book The Audacity of Hope.

On Friday, President Barack Obama created a firestorm when at a White House Ramadan observance he told the Muslim audience he supported the right of the developers to build a mega-mosque near the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. But over the weekend he added that he would not comment on the wisdom of building a mosque close to "Ground Zero."

Opponents of the mosque have deemed his comment insensitive because the terrorists who struck the buildings in 2001 were Islamic extremists.

"I am not one who is saying that Barack Obama is a Muslim; we don't know that," the ministry leader continues. "But the fact is his sentiment is with the Muslims of the world, and his sentiment is with the Muslims of Manhattan. I'm quite sure that he would be very okay with a mosque just a stone's-throw away from 9/11."

But Markell believes once Obama expressed his support for the project, he publicly backtracked because he realized that he could not be disrespectful of the families of the 9/11 victims, even though his sentiments might be with the Muslims.
