Well California, Arizona, and Florida all passed measures to define marriage as between a man and a woman--praise the Lord!

I've found what a lot of people did not seem to realize or understand is that once you get past the surface of the emotional aspect of allowing anyone to "marry" whomever they "love", there are some major consequences and repercussions to consider.

These measures were not just about "banning gay marriage" (as the media likes to print).

First and foremost marriage is about what God himself has ordained--this is no trivial thing... The covenant of marriage reflects the eternal covenant relationship among the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That is why illicit relationships, whether before or outside of marriage, are so destructive. They break the covenant bond. They are counterfeits of genuine love and communion.

Family is the fundamental building block of all human civilizations, and marriage is the foundation of the family. The institution of marriage is unquestionably good for individuals and society, and the health of our culture is intimately linked to the health and well-being of marriage. No human being has the right to redefine marriage, for doing so brings chaos, confusion, the breakdown of the institution of marriage and the family, and ultimately the destruction of society.

Secondly, if a man is allowed to marry another man, what will prevent "marriage" in the areas of polygamy, incest, pedophelia, or bestiality? If marriage can mean anything, then it will ultimately mean nothing.

Thirdly, in remaking marriage foundamental rights regarding freedom of conscious will become endangered--freedom speech and expression, freedom of religion and belief, and the right of parents to teach and raise their children according to their own morals and values would erode away and ultimately be eliminated.

The decisions to preserve traditional marriage in California, Arizona, and Florida were great victories! However, I must caution that the fight for marriage is not over... We Christians who are already married, or are about to enter into the holy marriage covanent, must do all we can to help strengthen our own relationships, support our fellow believers who are married, and to teach the next generation about marriage.

Yes Beauty, a pastor of a church may end up being sued for expressing that homosexuality is a sin, or for refusing to wed two homosexuals.

In Sweden, a pastor was jailed for "disrespect and offense" when he preached Bible verses that delt with homosexuality. In New Jersey, a Christian camp were sued and lost it's tax exempt status because it did not want to host a same-sex civil ceremony on its grounds. In New Mexico, a Christian photographer was sued for refusing to shoot a "commitment" ceremony. In California, two doctors who were sued for refusing to articially inseminate a lesbian woman. Also in California, Gov. Schwarzenegger just signed a series "anti-discrimination" bills--one of which is that many foster parents' moral beliefs will be compromised because they will be required to teach favorable to children about LGBT (lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender). If the foster parents refuse to do so, or spoke that "alternative lifestyles" are wrong, they could face prosecution from the state.

And the list of examples goes on...

Have any of you heard that any pastor of a church can be suited if they demonstrated or denied to marry a gay couple?

I live in California, but right now there really is no marriage in this state.

Marriage is a holy covenant which bonds a man and woman together as one. That isn't what we have in California...

Certainly, people can have a ceromony and then sign a marriage license which states "Party A" and "Party B" (after the election they'll print marriage licenses where you can check a box for "bride" or "groom"...) I am sorry, but marriage is not a ceremony or a 50-50% partnership and for benefits and tax breaks...

In other words, there really is no marriage California. What we have is a redifinition of an institution which invite infinite forms of unions under the banner of equality and fairness--so the definition of marriage is undefined and devoid of meaning, therein chaos.

We used to have marriage, but the California Supreme Court ruling brought sanctification to sexual immorality...

Listen, marriage is about love, but it is a sacrificial love. And marriage is about children... However, if you notice not only in California, but in our nation, children are being placed on the sacrificial altar for the god Baal. It is being done to satisfy selfish carnal desires, it is not sacrificial love.

Marriage and the family--the foundation of our civilization--are being divided and our nation torn apart.

Marriage was created by God, no man has the right to tear it assunder. And no man has the right to separate what the Lord has joined together.

State: Gay marriage to begin June 17 in California

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) California
counties can issue marriage licenses to same sex
couples beginning June 17, the state said in
a directive issued Wednesday.

The state Office of Vital Records said it
chose June 17 because the state Supreme
Court has until the close of business on
June 16 to decide whether to grant a stay of
its May 15 ruling legalizing gay marriage.

Gay rights advocates and some clerks initially
thought couples would be able to wed
as early as Saturday, June 14 exactly
30 days after the court’s ruling, when its decisions typically take effect.

But a group opposed to gay marriage has
asked the court to stay its decision until after
the November election, when voters are
likely to face a ballot initiative that would
once again define marriage as a union between
a man and a woman.

Passage of the initiative would overrule the Supreme Court.

Under the Supreme Court’s regular rules of
procedure, justices have until the end of the
day on June 16 to rule on the stay request,
according to the memo sent by email
to the state’s 58 county clerks.

Lawyers involved in the marriage case have said previously the court could grant itself an extra 60 days to consider the stay.

The guidelines from Mark Horton, director
of the California Department of Public
Health, also contained copies of new marriage
forms that include lines for “Party A”
and “Party B” instead of bridge and groom.

The genderneutral nomenclature was developed
in consultation with county clerks,
according to the letter.

“Effective June 17, 2008, only the enclosed
new forms may be issued for the issuance of
marriage licenses in California,” the directive
reads.
