Besides -our system of re-education is much more efficient -we just do it on the fly -no need to remove one from their natural habitat -just surround and manipulate their lives until they see things differently or the world sees the one differently -the facade is on both sides -inside and outside.

Mmmyahhhh -wouldn't want any of that freedom and peace breaking out -blechhhh Best not get too close to those meditators -dangerous, you know.(sarcasm) I can't say I agree with their (Tibetan's generally) religious beliefs, but ya gotta respect their ways... I mean... on the old political/military danger scale, they're the eqivalent of a cute fuzzy baby bunny -let 'em meditate in peace, already.

Worldwide protests of China’s human rights record are all well and good, but they’ll probably have no lasting effect on China’s politics. I never had much hope that protests against the recent violence in Burma would have any effect, either, although it’s possible that China actually cares about international opinion more than Burma did.
However, as occurred with Burma, the protests are making the Chinese government show its true colors. The censorship of public media has gotten egregious, and ridiculous:
