Funny part here is, it says “shine” as in seen. Not that a third of the day was remove , but a third of the light we see from outside our planet is removed.
Think about this for a while.
All the things removed, are things beyond our planet, so it would seem, a something as simple as making the ionosphere, or stratosphere, darker, or more opaque, would do this.
Just something to chew on.

Well, the reason I believe that the number of days aren't shortened because the exact number of days are given to us in the book of Daniel. So we know that God's word stands forever...If He changed the number of the days then that would mean that He changed His word and we know that His word is true, His word cannot be changed, and that He keeps His promises forever.
In Revelation 8 verse 12 it tells us about the fourth trumpet:
"Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened; and a third of the day did not shine, and likewise night."
To me here it is clearly telling us that a third of the sun, moon, and stars will be darkened...
God tells us that a third part of the day doesn't shine, and likewise night...During a day you have a period of night and a period of light...I can only come to the conclusion that a day will be shortened by 1/3 just like it says here...

Well, if ya live in Oregon where I live, it's pretty much normal. We call it the Great NorthWet pun on words (Great NorthWest).
Before that, I lived near Eureka, California, talk about wind and rain, Plus Fog most of the time.

That's my understanding too, and another reason I believe we will have to go through the Great Tribulation (which will likely be the 3 and 1/2 year period at the end of the 7 years).
I'm not feeling really well right now (I've got some kind of bug) but one of these days (when I get it all put together) I'll share what's lead me to believe this. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Are the days shortened by a third right now?
It is my understanding that that scripture is not talking about individual days becoming shorter, but the phrase "unless those days" is referring to a period of tribulation--in which, if those days were not shortened, then even the elect would not make it.

A shortening of days ? Here Jesus talks about the end of days in Matthew 24 verse 22 says:
"And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened."
Are the days shortened by a third right now ? In Einstiens theory of relativity states that time and speed are interrelated...If time speeds up, then so does speed......Therefore, we would not be able to tell by time if the days have actually been shortened...BUT.....Have any of you noticed that time seems to be flying by at a faster rate than it used too ?
Our watches and calenders don't tell us.....But our memories of the lenghts of time past seem to indicate that indeed the days are shorter...
