I found this all very interesting and was wondering where it was leading to. I was surprised to finally read that the report was a hoax. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out there was a group of people researching what it would take to bring the US into a One World Government... in fact, I believe there is such a group. There is a book by Gary Kah called "The New World Religion" which documents efforts by many such groups worldwide who are trying to bring about Global "Oneness" [Roll Eyes] And things are progressing just as they have planned. It's a very eye opening read!

Gary Kah has a website called "Hope for the World" http://www.garykah.org/ Some of his article are found there as well.

Report From Iron Mountain
In 1967 the war in Vietnam was escalating and race riots were breaking out in many major U.S. cities. Popular distrust of the federal government was growing. It was in this context that on October 16 a book appeared titled Report From Iron Mountain on the Possibility and Desirability of Peace. It was published by Dial Press, a division of Simon & Schuster.

Leonard C. Lewin, a New York freelance writer, wrote the introduction to the book. He explained that the report had been compiled by 15 experts known as the Special Study Group (SSG) who had been brought together by the U.S. government. The SSG had first met in 1963 at a secret "underground nuclear hideout" called Iron Mountain. They had then held periodic meetings during the next two and a half years to discuss the problems that would confront the United States if it entered into a period of permanent peace. According to Lewin, one of the experts ("John Doe") who was identified as a professor of social science at a 'large Middle Western University,' had decided to release the report to the public.

The report, in language full of think-tank jargon, documented the conclusions of the Special Study Group concerning whether peace was possible, given the economic condition of the world. The SSG decided that peace "would almost certainly not be in the best interest of stable society." War, they argued, was simply too important a part of the world economy, and therefore it was necessary to continue a state of war indefinitely:

"War has provided both ancient and modern societies with a dependable system for stabilizing and controlling national economies. No alternate method of control has yet been tested in a complex modern economy that has shown itself remotely comparable in scope or effectiveness."

The report also pointed out that the authority of the government over the people stemmed from its ability to wage war. Therefore, without war the government might cease to exist:

"'war' is virtually synonymous with nationhood. The elimination of war implies the inevitable elimination of national sovereignty and the traditional nation-state."

The report included a number of recommendations that the government should follow just in case peace did break out. For instance, it suggested that a number of expensive institutions be created that would mimic the economic function of a war, such as: "(a) A comprehensive social-welfare program, directed toward maximum improvement of general conditions of human life. (b) A giant open-end space research program, aimed at unreachable targets. (c) A permanent, ritualized, ultra-elaborate disarmament inspection system, and variant of such a system."

The report also recommended that the government invent "alternate enemies." For instance, it could mobilize the population by scaring them with reports of extraterrestrial threats, massive global environmental pollution, or "an omnipresent, virtually omnipotent international police force." Alternatively, the population could be roused by "socially oriented blood games" done "in the manner of the Spanish Inquisition and the witch trials of other periods."

The publication of the report caused a sensation. So many copies of it were sold that it made its way onto the New York Times bestseller list, and it was eventually translated into 15 languages.

The report caused panic among many government officials. President Johnson supposedly "hit the roof" when he learned of it. Cables were sent to U.S. embassies throughout the world instructing them to play down public discussion of the report, and to emphasize that the report had nothing at all to do with official U.S. policy.

The media, meanwhile, frantically searched for and speculated about who had written the report. On November 20 Eliot Fremont-Smith wrote a review for the New York Times in which he declared that the report was a hoax. He speculated that it had been written either by John Kenneth Galbraith, Kenneth Boulding, or Leonard C. Lewin. However, he had no evidence to prove his speculations.

The suspicion that Galbraith was the author stemmed from the fact that he had written a review of the report under the pseudonym "Herschel McLandress". This review had appeared in the Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune. Lewin was suspected because besides having written the introduction to the report, he had also authored a book of political satire.

The mystery of who had written the report was revealed in 1972 when Lewin declared in an article in the New York Times that he had penned the entire report. In other words, there was no Special Study Group and no government plot to maintain a state of war. The entire report had been a hoax. More details of the creation of the hoax were given in 1996 when Simon & Schuster reprinted the Report with a new introduction.

Apparently, the genesis of the report occurred in 1966 when Victor Navasky, editor of the Monocle, a magazine of political satire, noticed a New York Times article reporting that the stock market had dipped because of a 'peace scare.' Navasky mentioned this to Lewin who then wrote the report. The two of them presented the report to E.L. Doctorow, editor of the Dial Press. Doctorow agreed to publish the work as nonfiction.

Navasky claimed that the purpose of the hoax had been "to provoke thinking about the unthinkable&emdash;the conversion to a peacetime economy and the absurdity of the arms race."

Even though Lewin and Navasky admitted that the report was a hoax, there still remain some who believe it to be an official government document that was leaked to the public. An ultra-rightwing group known as the Liberty Lobby is one such group. Believing that the report was evidence of a secret government plot, the group printed their own edition of the report. When Lewin found out about this, he sued them for copyright infringement. The case was settled out of court with the Liberty Lobby agreeing to pay Lewin an undisclosed sum.

The Report From Iron Mountain

"War is Peace. ' - George Orwell

The "Report From Iron Mountain" was a confidential document prepared by nine members of the U.S. department of Defense while it was headed by Robert McNamara, in 1966. It was produced by the Hudson Institute which is located at the base of Iron Mountain in New York - hence the name. The primary purpose of this report was to find ways to perpetuate government and to subjugate the masses. The most important goal of the report, however, was to study the function of war, its uses and effects on society, and to come up with alternatives to war as a means of controlling society.

The text of the report clearly reveals the almost unbelievably shocking and disgusting total arrogance of the general mentality of the conspirators - their complete disregard and in fact disdain for the rest of the population, whom they consider to be no more than their chattel! It exposes the conspirators' typical supremacist attitude, in which the masses don't have the intelligence to be able to run their own lives, and therefore can - and should be used like mere pawns in a chess game, to help insure the positions of power and control which rightfully belong to the conspirators as more supremely intelligent and capable. The most blatant proof of their utter snobbery is demonstrated clearly in this report by their total disregard of the suffering and loss of human life caused by war - which the conspirators deem "necessary" in order to maintain and increase their control over the rest of us - 'for the good of humanity.'... This unconscionable and nauseating mentality is best expressed in their own words... For that reason, much of this section will be dedicated to directly quoting the report itself. If you are able to read the following paragraphs without getting sick to your stomach, then you are doing much better than I did!

The following excepts are direct quotes form The Report from Iron Mountain on the Possibility and Desirability of

Peace:

"War has provided both ancient and modern society with a debatable system for stabilizing and controlling national economies. No alternate method of control has yet been tested in a complex modem economy that has shown it is

44

remotely comparable in scope of effectiveness. War fills certain functions essential to the stability of our society, until other ways of filling them are developed, the war system must be maintained and improved in effectiveness

"War... is the principle organizing force in most societies. The possibility of war provides the sense of external necessity without which no government can long remain in power.

"Allegiance requires a cause, and a cause requires an enemy. This much is obvious. Ile critical point is that the enemy that defines the cause must seem genuinely formidable. Roughly speaking, the presumed power of the 'enemy' sufficient to warrant an individual sense of allegiance to a power must be one of unprecedented magnitude and frightfulness.

"'Me existence of an accepted external menace, then, is essential to social cohesiveness, as well as to the acceptance of political authority. The menace must be believable, it must be of a magnitude consistent with the complexity of the society threatened, and it must appear, at least, to affect the entire society.

"The war system not only has been essential to the existence of nations an independent political entities, but has been equally indispensable to their stable political structure. Without it, no government has ever been able to obtain acquiescence in its 'legitimacy,' or right to rule its society. The historical record reveals one instance after another where the failure of a regime to maintain the credibility of a war threat led to its dissolution, by the forces of private interest, of reactions to social injustice, or of other disintegrative elements. The organization of society for the possibility of war is its principal political stabilizer... It has enabled societies to maintain necessary class distinctions, and-it has insured the subordination of the citizens to the state by virtue of the residual war powers inherent in the concept of nationhood."

The report goes on to say that this 'war system' could now be obsolete, because a world government may now be possible. For this to occur, however, the global power would have to come up with alternative. reasons (threats and/or problems) with which to organize society and subjugate the people. As it explains:

"A viable substitute for war as a social system cannot be a mere symbolic charade. It must involve real risk of real personal destruction and on a scale consistent with the size and complexity of modem social systems. Unless it provides a believable life-and-death threat, it will not serve the socially organizing function of war.

"Credibility, in fact, lies at the heart of the problem of developing a political substitute for war... It may be that the gross pollution of the environment can eventually replace the possibility of mass destruction by nuclear weapons, as the principle apparent threat to the survival of the species. Poisoning of the air, and of the main sources of food and water supply is already well advanced, and at first glance would seem promising in this respect. [!!!] It [environmental poisoning] constitutes a threat that can be dealt with only through social organizations and political power. But from present indications, it will be one to one and one-half generations before environmental pollution, however severe, will be sufficiently menacing, on a global scale, to offer a possible basis for a solution." [Bear in mind that this report was made about 30 years ago - or approximately one and one-half generations!)

The Report From Iron Mountain was to come up with alternatives to war as a means of controlling society. The producers of this report concluded that nothing was as effective as war, but there were other promising possibilities...

First, the replacement(s) for war must meet the following requirements: 1) It must be economically wasteful. (!! Why am I not surprised?) 2) It must operate outside the normal supply-demand system. 3) It must represent a threat of great magnitude. 4) It must provide a logical excuse for compulsory service to the government.

Next, these are some of the substitutes for war the writers of the Report came up with: 1) Complete government health care for all. 2) A guaranteed annual income. 3) A series of giant space research programs aimed at unreachable targets. 4) The specter of gross pollution as a threat to the survival of the species.

45

5) The re-introduction of slavery through some form of compulsory military service. 6) A universal requirement that procreation be limited to the products of artificial insemination. 7) A massive, all I -encompassing social welfare program.

Finally, the report concluded that: "no serious quantified studies have ever been conducted to determine... the minimum levels of population destruction [!] necessary to maintain war-threat credibility under varying political conditions;" and 11 optimal cyclical frequency of 'shooting' wars under varying circumstances of historical relationships." Essentially what this means is that no one knows how many people should be killed, and how frequently they should be killed, in order to credibly maintain the threat of war!! (What kind of cold-blooded monsters are we dealing with here, anyway??!!!)

When the Report From Iron Mountain was first leaked to the press, the U.S. government claimed it was a hoax, which has caused many people to doubt its credibility. This, of course, is exactly what the conspirators wanted... because, as we have already learned, their first weapon is always concealment and deception. Since that time, however, many people involved in the creation of the report have come forward and admitted not only the existence of the report itself, but also their involvement in its production. Among those is well-known historian John Kenneth Galbraith of Harvard University, who said, "As I would put my personal repute behind the authenticity of this document, so would I testify to the validity of its conclusions. "

Most of the suggestions and conclusions mentioned above have already either come to pass, or are in their final planning stages... The writers of the Report, however, decided that the best alternative to war was the environmental pollution model. Recent history bears this out with the advent of all kinds of environmental "crises" arising:

In 1961, the Kennedy administration ordered a "Top Secret" study to determine what problems the United States would face if the world moved from an era of war to a golden age of peace. In other words, how to bring America into the New World Order. By 1963 the selection of the specialist had been made. This study group consisted of 15 experts in various academic disciplines who were selected for their expertise in their various fields. The first and last meetings were in an underground nuclear survival retreat called Iron Mountain.........

In 1963, the same year as the selection of specialists for this "Top Secret" study, President John F. Kennedy made an astounding statement. On November 13, while speaking at Columbus University, Pres. Kennedy stated, "The high office of the President of the United States of America has been used to foment a plot to destroy America's freedom, and before I leave office, I must inform the citizens of their plight! Ten days later, President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed.

The study was completed in 1966. President Johnson gave the order that the report was never to be released, due to the nature of the conclusions reached. The purpose of this Report was to see what it would take to bring the United States into a New World Order.

The "experts" decided that the American people were not intelligent enough to understand what "big brother" had decided for them; and what "big brother" would need to do to accomplish what was decided for them. If the truth came out too soon, the American people would be able to stop it.

To quote directly from the cover letter of this report: (paragraph three) "Because of the unusual circumstances surrounding the establishment of this Group, and in view of the nature of its finding, we do not recommend that this Report be released for publication...such actions would not be in the PUBLIC INTEREST (emphasis mine) ..a lay reader, unexposed to the exigencies of higher political or military responsibility, will misconstrue the purpose of this project, and the intent... We urge that the circulation of the Report be closely restricted to those who's responsibilities require that they be apprised of its contents..." Those who responsibilities require they know? Would this be the people who will be working to bring us into a New world Order?
