No one could have said it better than former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meier that there would not be peace in the Middle East until the Arabs love their children more than they hate the Israelis. It is time for the United States to make it clear that until that time comes, we will stand with Israel and against terrorism — just as we would do if we were the victims ourselves facing the same situation.

IF the "Palestinians" really wanted peace, then they would not broadcast the messages of hate printed in the above article. This is certainly no way to achieve the long-desired goal of peace.

I really would like to think that there may be some "Palestinians" who really want peace as much as the Israelis do, but unfortunately with the hate being broadcast, the "Palestinians" will continue fostering many generations of terrorists as they have done in the past.

PA's de-legitimization of Israel continues
By Jerusalem Newswire Editorial Staff
December 29, 2003

Jerusalem (jnewwire.com) - Official Palestinian Authority TV continues its policy of de-legitimizing Israel through the use of "educational" programs, the Palestine Media Watch (PMW) reports.

On a program broadcast Sunday, the station perpetuated the anti-Semitic libel that the Jews are intent on world domination and have no historical or religious ties to the land of Israel.

The airing of such productions is a direct violation of the Oslo Accord obligations to "foster an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence."

Anti-Semitic ideology

According to PMW director Itamar Marcus, one of the core Palestinian ideologies is that the Jews "do not comprise a nation but only a religious group, and therefore do not have a right to a national home."

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia himself lent support to this position while speaking to reporters last June about US President George W. Bush's reference to Israel as the "Jewish state."

"This should not have been said... What is the meaning of the concept of a Jewish state. … Does this mean that this is a Jewish state, this is Sunni, this is Shi'ite, this is Alawite, and that one is Christian... These differences could plunge the region into a whirlpool," two Arabic language newspapers quoted him as saying.

Hateful education

Sunday's program featured three senior Palestinian historians, including the Chairman of the PA Public Library and Yasser Arafat's Advisor on Education, Dr. Jarir Al-Kidwah.

The men taught that modern Jews have no historical connection to the land of Israel, and that the "Zionist Renaissance" was motivated by the principles outlined in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

"They are the Protocols that were presented in the Basel Congress in Switzerland [the First Zionist Congress in 1897]," said Dr. Riad Al-Astal, history lecturer at Gaza's Al-Azhar University.

That anti-Semitic forgery attempts to paint the Jews as a race hungry for world domination.

The panel also said that European Jewry would have accepted a state anywhere in the world, but was pushed into the Middle East by Western governments eager to "rid Europe of the burden of its problematic Jews" and take control of Arab oil.

"At that time, Britain wanted to plant a cancer [in the Middle East to control it]. It did not occur to them [the Jews] that Palestine would be theirs. They wanted... any homeland," Dr. Isam Sisalem, a senior historian and educational TV host, said.

"Britain decided to plant in this land a foreign secluded entity - a cancer - in order to drive a wedge between the [Arab] nation," he explained.

Dr. Astal took the concept one step further, saying that one of the goals towards which Europe was striving at the start of the 20th century was to "get rid of the Jews, who were known as those who provoke civil wars, disturbances, and financial crises in Germany, in France and in other European states."

Fostering resentment

These same men and others have taught these lessons on Palestinian television and in other official PA-controlled media on several occasions over the past decade.

Under the terms of PA's signed agreements with Israel, such programs constitute incitement against the Jewish state, and achieve the opposite of the Oslo Accords stipulation to "foster an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence."
