Hi there, I've disappeared in the last few months too but not due to something so serious! I hope that you're feeling better!

Linda,
It's good to "hear your voice" again. Praise God for His mercy and grace.

Hi: I am writing this to all of you. Please forgive me for not answering all of your individual PM's and emails.
I am alive! I have been in the hospital for the past 12 days. I came home last night. I am doing much better though not yet 100%. My strength is limted and does not last long and I am still having to travel the 70 miles to town to receive Outpatient followup 5 days a week.
The final diagnosis was that I got strep in my bloodstream through a small inflamed sweat gland on my thigh causing a massive cellulitis in my leg. Thank God a CAT scan showed no underlying abscess and no sugery was required. I have been on IV antibiotic for 12 days now and just came home last night. I am still on antibiotics but now oral. The doctor placed a semi permanent IV catheter in my arm so that we can go back to IV if needed. But this is now day 28 of my illness and day 28 of antibiotics, so that gives you some idea of how serious strep in your bloodstream can be.
God is good and I have enjoyed a lot of time talking with him and a lot of opportunity for intercessory prayer while I was in the hospital as I met many many family members of people who were dying of cancer. It is ironic because I met them when I would go outside twice a day to smake a ciggirette. God can use even our bad habits! I could not sleep one night and went outside to have a smoke at four AM. There sitting on the curb I met a young woman from Sarasota Florida, which is close to my hometown of Tampa. She had traveled here to be with he r mom who is dying of cancer at the young age of 58. We were able to pray together sitting there on the curb of the hospital entrance and also to give thanks for her mother is saved. God is always working. We just have to be aware of where and how he is working.
The doctor says I am still looking at about 3 weeks of limited function and so I dont know how much time I will spend here, but please know that I have missed you all and I am so thankful for your prayers and your emails and PM's and it has been heartwarming to hear your concerns for me.
I love you all. God Bless! Linda
