I am so glad God did not insert (and be perfect) in those verses. Often unsaved people look at Christians and say " you are no better then me and you sin too)". They are right. Christians are no better then sinners. A Christian is saved not because we are better. We are saved because we have accepted Jesus as our Savior and Lord. When we stand before God there is only one difference between a Christian and a sinner . It is the blood of Christ. A Christian's sins have been made clean by the precious blood of Jesus. A sinner stands with nothing between them and God but their sins. On the lips of every Christian should be thankfulness and great fullness for the gift of salvation. May our hearts grieve and our prayers be for the lost so that too, may know the liberty that comes through salvation. Not liberty to sin with abandon but liberty of not living in fear that we will make a mistake and lose our salvation. Being a Christian is journey growing every day in the love or Christ, Paul warns us not to be baby Christians all our lives but to grow in the grace of Jesus Christ.

That's a great way to put it. Too many people think that we think we are better than the rest of the world. So hard to convince them that we aren't better just forgiven. Not free to sin with impunity but free from fear, free to be the imperfect people we are knowing we can still rely on the blood of Christ to cleanse us
