1 Timothy 4:1-5
KJV(i)1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
KJ2000(i)1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to deceitful spirits, and doctrines of demons; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
1 There is coming a time that Christianity will become small; this time could have already come. People will stop listening to the truth for lies that bring them happiness of the flesh rather than a happy spirit and strong relationship with Him. People do not want to hear that they can not do things even if it is the truth.
2 People will want to hear their doing right but still feel that others will need to change. People may also teach ways people should live and have no attention of living this way their selves.
3 People did at one time teach that marriage should not happen because the church should solely devote them to the Lord but the Lord wants us to devote our marriage to Him. Now not being marry will leave someone to be able to focus more on God if they can live this way many can not live this way though. There was a group that Paul had to talk to because they were forcing people to become Jewish for them to become part of the church. These people lived by the law which meant they did not eat certain foods. Seventh Day Adventist today teaches there are not certain foods you eat and live by the law.
4 We are to be thankful for all things God made. God is good and His creation was made good but it did become fallen but we can be lifted back up by Christ not avoiding certain foods or remaining single.
5 We are made pure by Christ and we should pray and live by the word and the things God has for us. We are no longer bond to the law but are made free by Christ and should live as He leads us and we know this by prayer and studying the word.
