Hi Drew,
The pastor of our church(mid-sized)has unveiled a plan to expand the existing church and to build another church in a different location.

I wonder if it would be a better idea to be focusing more on "church unity" these days than focusing on drawing more people to our church by expanding and contemporizing????

It seems like a lot of great things happened in the bible when the believers of Jesus were "all in one accord"

With love in Jesus, Daniel

There are many diverse practices in observing the ordinances of the Church. The breaking of Bread and the Cup of Remembrance, the mode of Baptism, the times and days of worship. However though there be some diversity of practice there is unity of faith among the Brethren, those who truly follow Christ and who stand for the Word of God.

Romans 14:
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

There are basic tenants of the Christian faith, such as the Person and work of Christ, the integrity of God's Word, salvation not by any works but by faith alone in Christ alone, which separate the Brethren and reveal the counterfeit who are not our Brethren, who follow the teachings and traditions of man which supplant God's Word.

John 3:
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Romans 10:
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Eph. 2:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

A Servant of Christ,

1 Tim. 3:
16: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh..
