The best way to deal with this temptation, or any other, is just to say "No", as Joseph did to Potiphar's wife (over and over again), and get out of the situation (see Genesis 39:2-12). Don't sit on the "bed" and discuss the matter with the tempter or stand under the "tree" and debate God's instructions with the Devil, as Adam and Eve did in the garden (see Genesis 3:1-7). Install "filters" in your life (see my blog regarding their importance at http://christianityetc.org/blog/about-what/sees/filters ).

You know how in Proverbs we are told, as a man thinks in his heart so is he, and Romans tells us to transform ourselves by the renewing of our mind? Well through putting offs and putting ons and thinking on the virtuous things intentionally we can gird up (by the word) the loins of our minds (men know their minds have loins more so than women) and we can only do this by sooner and sooner in the thinking process casting down our imaginations...it takes practice in prayerfully seeking the assistance of the Holy Spirit within but we can do it. Our mind is a lesser part of ourselves...a valuable tool...we are not our mind...

We only need to obey God in the moment...one now at a time in a row...if we are sincere in our yeilding to the Holy Spirit He will help us more and more often until we succeed, but even then, once in a while that ugly old flesh self rears his ugly old man head and we must be on guard...

This is a battle for almost everyman at some time or other to some degree or another and only Gods remedy that is spelled out in His word can help...

Oh how wonderful will be the day when we are all freed from the strongholds of our fallen flesh life, when we stand upon the earth with our redeemer sharing in His glory...

Thank you so much for bringing up this important subject
