John 20:28, “And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
__________

The words of Thomas in the above text are deeply moving. When he was fully convinced that Jesus had risen from the grave, he exclaimed to his Master, "My Lord and my God!" Please take note that Jesus neither disowned these titles nor refused the homage; nor did He rebuke Thomas for addressing Him as God. If He had not wished His followers to worship Him, surely this would have been one occasion on which He could have corrected them. His followers understood His unique identity, and even His enemies saw clearly the implication of His words. When Jesus referred to God as His Father, they tried "all the more to kill Him" because they understood that He was "making Himself equal with God" (John 5:18), and on another occasion, they tried to stone Him. Their explanation … "You, being a man, make Yourself God" (John 10:23). Who is Jesus? His disciplines recognized Him as the divine Son of God. His detractors also perceived His claim to deity. The former responded with love and worship the latter with hostility and unbelief. My friend, we cannot be neutral about Jesus Christ because the most important question that you need to ask yourself is the one Jesus asked his disciples recorded in Matthew 16:15, “Who do you say I am?”

Our infinite God has revealed Himself to us in His incarnate Son Jesus Christ. Within the Gospels, you can read with awe and gratitude that the Creator became our Savior. Jesus said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). There is no question more urgent and more life changing and more eternally weighty than the question “Who is Jesus to you?” You may ask … why do I need what Jesus has to offer? Because life apart from Him is nothing short of a living death (Ephesians 2:1-5). To seek ultimate happiness in a personal relationship or in material things apart from Jesus Christ is utter uselessness and will lead only to hopelessness. Jesus didn't promise to give us everything we want; however, He did promise an abundant life (John 10:10), which includes our riches that we have in Him, such as a: Love that can never be fathomed; Life that can never die; Peace that can never be understood; Rest that can never be disturbed; Joy that can never be diminished; Hope that can never be disappointed; Glory that can never be clouded; Happiness that can never be interrupted; Light that can never be extinguished; Strength that can never be overcome; Beauty that can never be marred; Purity that can never be defiled; and, Resources that can never be exhausted.
__________

Closing thoughts:

If you haven't received the forgiveness of sin and new spiritual life that He wants to give you, do so today. Trust Him to meet your deepest need. Your life on this earth and for all eternity is affected by your answer to this one question because what you decide to do with Jesus Christ will determine and seal your destiny forever.

(1) So, who is Jesus Christ to you?
(2) Do you view Him as just a man, maybe a prophet or a great teacher?
(3) Or do you view Him as the only begotten Son of God and Savior of the world?

If you get nothing else from this post … remember this … Jesus Christ opens the door of heaven to only those who open the door of their heart and life to Him.
