Psalm 118:8) It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
This frankly reaches across the board and can even mean ourselves. A man dependent on God can be strong but a man depending on man as the source of his strength, a terrifing thing. We see that all around the world today. Whether people trust in themselves, in there own heart, or just plainly other people more then God.
Philippians 4:13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
This should be our attitude because apart from Christ we are nothing.

"Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. (Jude 1:24)
In His name and in His merits, bad habits and practices may be overcome. It is impossible for man to overcome without God's strength, yet man is expected to exercise all the powers that God has given him so that he can be an overcomer. Divine power, combined with human effort, so that through Jesus Christ, man may stand " a conqueror."
