Awright Dr Wood, here is a message from Dr. Bluefrog...rivit...

The Spirit acts more like a person rather than an impersonal force. He creates (Gen 1:2 and Ps 33:6) gives life (Ps 104:29-30) understands and communicates ((I guess that means women too)) ( 1 Cor 2:9-12) Man can rebel and grieve the Spirit (Isa 63:10-14, Acts 5:3-9) and can resist him (Mt 12:31,32) The Spirit is a distinct personality (Matt 3:16,17 John 14:16,17)

Both testaments call the Spirit God. Jesus called the Spirit "another comforter". In Matt. 28:19 he is ranked with the Father and Son as God. Each person of the Trinity is fully and equally God, yet distinct and has a distinct role carrying out the plan of salvation.

Nuf said for now.

I see the Holy Spirit as say, the ocean. All the creatures are in the ocean. There are the fish. There are jelly fish. They populate the ocean.

I see the Holy Spirit as the universe. HE is everywhere all at once. Everything is 'in' Him. The universe is in Him. But human perception sees 'everything' as being out there, 'outside' of Him, and the Holy Spirit only seems to gain entrance through tiny doors.

Rather, everything is in Him, and where the Holy Spirit is not is where He is not received. In other words, people who are empty of the Holy Spirit, are vacuums, within the context of the greater environment of the Holy Spirit. These are the places where He does not fill, because they do not have the Son. And there is no interaction because they do not believe HE is there.

But Jesus had (has) the Holy Spirit without measure. (John 3:34) Jesus is the 'image' of the invisible God. (Col 1:15) But the Spirit is everywhere. Jesus is the image, not as though the Holy Spirit is packaged within Jesus, and doled out in portions, a little here, a little there. Yet HE is in the respect that His activity is manifest to, and through, and in those who are yielded to Him. But God is omnipresent, and that is how.

Dr Wood’s article was only a “vehicle” to help understand, in a small way, how Three (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) can be One (God).

Eden is right in pointing out that scripture gives light to the Son.

Daniel is right about how the Holy Spirit speaks (answers our questions)to us in our dreams, revealing the nature of the Son (casting light on the Son). [Of course any answers we receive in dreams must line up with scripture].

God bless,
Larry

Hi Larry,
I did once receive an answer to a prayer in which I was asking a a questtion about Jesus. I believe it was the Holy Spirit who gave this answer to me just before I awoke.............

"Jesus did not exalt Himself"

Could this be considered "casting light on the Son?"

With love in Christ, Daniel

Dr. Wood's article said
quote:
The Holy Spirit acts invisibly. He continually influences us with regard to the Son. He casts light upon the Son; that is His great function.
More than casting light upon the Son, the Holy Spirit conveys to us on earth what Jesus told the Holy Spirit to say to us in heaven. That is the main function of the Holy Spirit, to be the new life in us, and not so much to "cast light upon the Son".

The light was already cast upon the Son in the Bible, to make people saved. And once saved, then Jesus SPEAKS to us from His seat on the right hand of the Father in heaven through the Holy Spirit, just like our wireless cell phones.

THAT is the main function of th Holy Spirit:

John 16:13
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He hears, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.

To repeat what Dr. Wood said
quote:
The Holy Spirit acts invisibly. He continually influences us with regard to the Son. He casts light upon the Son; that is His great function.
Dr. Wood is going in the wrong direction, except that we also ask the Holy Spirit to convey something for US to Jesus:

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helps OUR infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

love, Eden

THE PROCESS OF EXPLAINING HOW TIME IS EMBODIED WITHIN THE PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE, WILL ALSO HELP US TO, BETTER, UNDERSTAND THE TRINITY.

(TIME)

PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE

The Future is the source of everything.
The Future is unseen and unknown except as it continually embodies itself and makes itself visible in the Present.
The Present is what we see and hear and know. It is ceaselessly embodying the Future, day-by-day, hour-by-hour and moment-by-moment. The Present is perpetually revealing, the hitherto invisible Future.
The Future is logically first but not chronologically; for the Present exists and has existed as long as Time has existed, and was in the absolute beginning with Time.
The Present has existed as long as Time has existed. Time acts through the Present. It makes itself visible only in the Present.
The Future acts and reveals itself through the Present. It is through the Present that the Future enters into union with human life.
The Past, in turn, comes from the Present. We cannot say that it embodies the Present. On the contrary, Time is issuing from the Present into the Past and becomes invisible again.
The Past does not embody the Present; rather it proceeds silently, endlessly, and invisibly from the Present. The Present therefore comes out from the invisible Future. The Present perpetually and ever newly embodies the Future’s invisible, audible and livable form, and returns into the invisible Time in the Past. The Past acts invisibly. It continually influences us with regard to the Present. It casts light upon the Present; that is its great function. The Past helps us to live in the Present that we know and with reference to the Future, which we expect to see.

BY REPEATING THE STATEMENT ABOUT TIME, AND REPLACING THE WORDS ‘TIME’ WITH ‘THE TRINITY,’ ‘PAST’ WITH ‘HOLY SPIRIT,’ ‘PRESENT’ WITH ‘SON’, AND ‘FUTURE’ WITH ‘FATHER,’ WE WILL HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE TRINITY

(THE TRINITY [GOD])

HOLY SPIRIT, SON, AND FATHER

The Father is the source of everything.
The Father is unseen and unknown except as He continually embodies Himself and makes Himself visible in the Son.
The Son is whom we see and hear and know. He is ceaselessly embodying the Father day-by-day, hour-by-hour and moment-by-moment. The Son is perpetually revealing, the hitherto invisible Father.
The Father is logically first but not chronologically; for the Son exists and has existed as long as The Trinity has existed, and was in the absolute beginning with The Trinity.
The Son has existed as long as The Trinity has existed. The Trinity acts through the Son. He makes Himself visible only in the Son.
The Father acts and reveals Himself through the Son. It is through the Son that the Father enters into union with human life.
The Holy Spirit, in turn, comes from the Son. We cannot say that He embodies the Son. On the contrary, The Trinity is issuing from the Son into the Holy Spirit and becomes invisible again.
The Holy Spirit does not embody the Son; rather He proceeds silently, endlessly, and invisibly from the Son. The Son therefore comes out from the invisible Father. The Son perpetually and ever newly embodies the Father’s invisible, audible and livable form, and returns into the invisible Trinity in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit acts invisibly. He continually influences us with regard to the Son. He casts light upon the Son; that is His great function. The Holy Spirit helps us to live in the Son whom we know, and with reference to the Father, whom we expect to see. This is a copy of an article written by Dr. Wood.
