Thank you Eden... that is exactly to the point.

I am so glad that we read in Isa.53:11

He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
53:12 Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

I am so greatful that where sin abounded... grace did much more abound.

God bless you

Thank you KnowHim for hitting the nail on the head. This week I have been pondering this topic and find it an interesting one.

God knew that more was required than just being rescued from sin. [ ie. a one time event ] He knew that if He saved us from our past sin's and failure... what would happen next week .. or next month ?

Now God could have tried different methods to solve the problem...

- He could have gave mankind swimming lessons [Big Grin]

The problem with that solution is that man is too weak and lacks desire to swim in the long term. [ Isa. 53:6 all we like sheep have gone astray.. each to his OWN way ] While others become so enamored with swimming that they spend all of their energy seeking to attain perfection [ in their own strength ] Yet these are often critical of others who do not swim as well as they do [ Luke 18;9 ]

- still others say that God eliminated the water [ie. the law ] all together and deny that it even exists. After all if you take away the water then no one can drown [Razz] Thus they view that the problem is solved... problem is that God said that sin is the trangression of the law... and... that He wants to write the law on each of our hearts.

- others even isolate themselves from the water knowing that if they avoid all contact with others that they will be safe from drowning [cool_shades] This they call "holiness" [ problem is that it misses the whole point and purpose of why we are here ]

I believe that the purposes of God are deep and wide yet He has revealed at least part of His plan to us who believe. God knew that we needed a "New heart" because He said... as a man thinketh , so is He... and He knew that " whoever commits sin is a slave of sin " John 8:34

God knew that the only way to rescue mankind was to become one of us and thereby create a way that He would be so united with us that we would be "one" for we read that " Christ in us, the hope of glory " ... in short God knew that we needed " to be born again "

Heb. 7:25 Wherefore He is able to save to the uttermost that come to Him since He ever liveth to make intersession for them

Thank you again KnowHim for sharing your thought's

God Bless

Eventhough Noah and his family were saved in the ark, Noah and his family were all still sinners. The earth had lost a lot of sinners in the flood, but there were still 8 sinners on the ark who did not waste any time to create more sinners:

Genesis 10:32
These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

be blessed, everyone

We all inherited sin from Adam and Eve. Yes it is the biggest and worse problem for all who have ever lived since Adam and Eve. It causes death and separation from God. SIN is why we all die. People don't want to think of the reason we all die, but we do because of sin.

All people inherited sin from Adam and Eve, specifically Adam. Sin is described in the Bible as transgression of the law of God (1 John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 9:7; Joshua 1:18). Sin had its beginning with Lucifer, the “shining star, the son of the morning,” the most beautiful and powerful of the angels. Not content to be all this, he desired to be the most high God, and that was his downfall and the beginning of sin (Isaiah 14:12-15). Renamed Satan, he brought sin to the human race in the Garden of Eden, where he tempted Adam and Eve with the same enticement, “you shall be like God.” Genesis 3 describes their rebellion against God and against His commandments. Since that time, sin has been passed down through all the generations of mankind and we, Adam’s descendants, have inherited sin from him. Romans 5:12 tells us that through Adam, sin entered the world and so death was passed on to all men because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This is the condition known as inherited sin. Just as we inherit physical characteristics from our parents, we inherit our sinful natures from Adam.

Adam and Eve were made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). As a result, all human beings are also in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 9:6). However, we are also in the image and likeness of Adam (Genesis 5:3). When Adam fell into sin, that resulted in every one of his descendants also being “infected” with sin. David lamented this fact in one of his Psalms: “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me” (Psalm 51:5). This doesn’t mean that his mother bore him illegitimately; rather, his mother had inherited a sin nature from her parents, and they from their parents, and so on. David inherited sin from his parents, just as we all do. Even if we live the most perfect life possible, we are still sinners as a result of inherited sin.

Being born sinners results in the fact that we all sin. Notice the progression in Romans 5:12: Sin entered the world through Adam, death follows sin, death comes to all people, all people sin because they inherit sin from Adam. Because “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23) we need a perfect, sinless sacrifice to wash away our sin, something we are powerless to do on our own. Thankfully, Jesus Christ is the Savior from sin! Our sin has been crucified on the cross of Jesus, and now “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7). God, in His infinite wisdom, has provided the remedy for the sin we inherit, and that remedy is available to everyone: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

If someone were drowning... what would it take to save them? Well you could

- throw a life jacket

-anything that floats...

-throw a rope/ a lifeline

-send a boat etc.

It all depends upon what "resources" you have... you could jump in if you were well trained.

Mankind was drowning in sin... so why did God go to such a measure to save us... He had "unlimited resourses" at His disposal... yet evidently He knew that we needed more than to be "just" rescued...

When He flooded the earth... He sent an ark... all who got on board were saved. Yet God knew that it would take more than a "lifeline or an ark" to save mankind from the "depths" of sin ...

WHY ???

What is it about sin that needed such a drastic measure to save us from it?

For now I am just curious what your thought's are on this topic...

God Bless
