Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

“Ho hagios”. “The saints”. The construction of the word in the Greek is in the plural, and in the genitive, which means “of the holy place”. The inheritance of the saints.

“Hath made us meet, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light”.

“Meet” means “to qualify”, and the words “saints in light” are the same words used to describe “the holiest of all”, or “the holy of holies”, depending on where we read it. What we are being told seems just to good to be true, yet, we are asked to acknowledge it nevertheless. When you read in the prison epistles, there are several key words to place in your minds, as they run throughout. “Meet”, “fullness”, “worthy”, “accepted”, “riches”. Lets look at a few verses to get an idea of the impact of the message we are to receive.

Exo 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

He made a meeting place for the transgressors, and in the consequences He made a meeting place for us, which is our acceptance in the beloved.

Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

A retranslation:
And the Lord had made to meet on Him the iniquity of us all.

Isa 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession [a meeting place] for the transgressors.

Heb 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

This is the same expression we find in Col. 1, and again in the verses below.

Heb 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Heb 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the holiest of all;

“The holiest of all”, “the saints in light”. The words ‘holiest’ and ‘saints’ are the same word. We, in our English may not naturally attribute a word associated with a person to an object, but Father does oft. This is where we need to open our understandings to gain acceptance in His message to us that are of the church which is His body in the dispensation of the mystery.

The Jew could never commune with the LORD, but once a year the high priest entered, and not without blood. [heb 8 & 9]. There was no true access or acceptance. But in the church which is His body, we have both “boldness” and “access”, “with confidence”, “by the faith of Him”.

Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

This was made possible by the fact that Christ “hath broken down the middle wall of partition”. Even a gentile convert was unable to pass beyond “the middle wall of partition”, as it meant that loss of life would soon follow. This is an entirely different church than those assembled during the Acts of the apostles.

Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

What I am getting at is that with all our faults, the members of this church are so made meet by the blood of the cross, even undeserving as we are; is perhaps one reason for this to be so hard to acknowledge.

Col 1:12
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 1:19
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;
Col 1:20
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1:21
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Col 1:22
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblamable and unreprovable in his sight:

I want to place in your mind, that when in one place, we find our inheritance is far above all, and in the holiest of all, and another place says the inheritance is somewhere else; there is either a contradiction, or a there is an expansion and an explanation.

Eph 1:15
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Eph 1:16
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
Eph 1:17
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 1:18
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

We see this wording again; where our inheritance is far above all, in heavenly places, in the saints, the holiest of all. First JohnTBap's, next Christ, then the apostles preached the kingdom, “which is in the earth”. “The meek shall inherit the earth”.

Here in this expanded calling, our calling, is “in the holiest of all”, “where Christ sitteth”. So which church do you believe you belong to? The one in the earth, or the one far above all and why?

Eph 2:18
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Eph 2:19
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

As there is no word Greek word that technically equals the English word “with” in the manuscripts, & that Hebrews says that word “saints” has been used over and over again as heaven’s sanctuary. We are fellow citizens of the sanctuary, not the one built with hands, which was but a shadow, but the one that God made in the household of God.

Eph 2:20
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (or capstone);

Our calling is built upon the apostles and the prophets. Oh, what a calling we have here in this church which is His body; that we are called to “walk worthy” of this doctrine by practice, and try our best to not cause a spot or wrinkle or a blemish to Him, but instead, to endeavor to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eph 2:21
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22
In whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.

Eph 2:6
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Looking at the word “sit”; to sit together in the heavenlies in Christ.

Heb 10:11
And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

See how important that is? He did what no priest could ever do, sit down in the precense and bosom of Father. He showed that He could at His first reading on the temple mound.

Eph 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

We in the mystery body have our glory in the very throne room of God, in the holiest of all, the holy of holies. It sounds almost too good to be true, if it weren't written. This reminds me of the love of Father, and a good definition of the grace of God; giving to us what is just too good to be true, as members of the church which is His body.

Accepted in the beloved.
