I order my books online and then pick them up. The library is at the corner down the road from me. I like to go online cause I can go through and get what I want. Of course I get a few bad apples, cause names of books can be misleading, but I am pleased most of the time. We picked up about 12 books on the way home from Church. I ordered a couple of Christian romance books. Surprisling mixed in with the romance is alot of good Bible teaching.

Oh that is cool; this is also so true... I remeber from living in florida the color of oranges growing on the trees.. you probably would not buy oranges if you saw them in the store looking like they look before they do what ever it is that they do to oranges!

Maybe I will look for that book at our library when I send this one I am reading back. I am very blessed because we live in such a rural area and there is no library here I can check out books from any library in the state via the internet and they will mail them to me and I just mail them back. It is great because I can get just about anything in the world I want to read from one of the libraries somewhere in the state.

I took the book back to the library but she never actually says why she calls it naked fruit but she talks about real fruit is not always pretty and perfect, you know like plastic fruit is. But real fruit has blemishes. Kind of like the ugliest tomatoes sometimes have the best taste. Maybe that is how God looks at us. We see the outside of the person and and think to ourselves how can God use that person. They are not perfect. But God sees a loving heart that we do not see. So I guess to the world a Christian can be like naked fruit but to God we are sweet and juicy just like fruit should be.
I remember when I took an oil painting class, the teacher said that all her students wanted to paint picture with perfect leaves and perfect flowers but that nature is not that way. She encouraged us to go out and look at trees and flowers. It is the inperfection that brings out the beauty in nature.
Hope this is helpful because my mind is scattered like leaves on a windy day.

Oh it does sound good Betty; that is so true; it is fruit of HIS spirit in us and not our fruit. These are things that are HIS spirit manifest in us.

I will be interested to hear more as you go along. Why does she call it Naked Fruit? Do you know yet.

Linda,

thank you. She starts off teling us that it is not our job to grow spiritual fruit but to become grounded in our relationship with God, so the Holy Spirit can grow fruit in us. We cannot force the growth ourselves. The fruit of the spirit are the qualities that develop in us as we become more like Jesus. Our spiritual fruit is advertizment for the world of God's truth, hope and love. While we have a role in growth of the spirit, the process is up to God. I think that the biggest thing I learned as we don't set out to grow certain kinds of fruit of the spirit, but we seek to get closer and closer to God and more grounded in Him and He chooses the fruit to grow in our spiritual garden.

Tell us a bit about the book betty. [type]

How do you find time to read all those books. I love to read and I love books. I collect books, but I often look at my collection and think Oh, if there were only enough time to read all the books I would like to read! I usually have 3 going at one time, and I read in the car when I have to wait on the girls for something, and I read when someone runs me off the computer and I cant get to my online Bible, but there are not enough hours to read like I would like. Plus my sight is going and I hate to have to wear my glasses, so with the computer I can make the text bigger. That helps.

I would love to hear about this book; it sounds very interesting.
