Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. . . .What happened?
All this is part of the lust of man.
Sinful longing; the inward sin which leads to the falling away from God (Rom_1:21). “Lust, the origin of sin, has its place in the heart, not of necessity, but because it is the centre of all moral forces and impulses and of spiritual activity.” In Mar_4:19 “lusts” are objects of desire.
Plus let us not forget that there is almost 6 billion pepole on this earth at this time, and this is to establish Gods purpose to bring a great number of saints unto Him.
Many are the one that He will bring IN than the ones that where cast out.
Praise God for He know all things.

Sin happened, man happened, humanism happened. I was talking about a similar thing in the women keep silent thread with primoa. And I think Conner has stated part of it here, women stayed home to raise children and run the home.
The change in this is the same change that has resulted in all of these taxes. It isnt really a change at all but a progression of sin, a progression that caused the God to destroy the earth by flood, the progression of Man's exhaltation of self against God. A desire for man to do things his way and not God's way.
I know that sounds bizzare but what is at the heart of that change that took women out of the home? Man trying to improve on what God has ordained as should be so. God intended women to manage the home and man to provide for his family. God intended that man work or he doesnt eat; this has been so since the fall. But man doesnt want to work and man nor women want the simple life that God established, but just like those that tried to reach the heavens with the tower of Babel, we try to reach the Gods with our stuff.
Our children are not satisfied with toys of wood, they want plastic and silicon. We are not satisfied to walk, we want to drive and we are not satisfied to drive but we want to drive a porche. Women are not satisfied with the roles God ordained nor are they satisifed with a life that is simple. Just look at any women's magaizine and you can see that!
We (men & women) want so much Stuff that women have to work and when they do the family falls apart and when it does the government steps in and when they do the taxes go up.
And knowing that still doesnt send us back to farm the land to feed our famiies and educate our own children and chop wood to heat our homes and be satisfied by God and the family he blesses us with.. Because we like the stuff and because we think we know more that God and can do all things better than God, all the while claiming that God gave us the knowledge to create the stuff in the first place.
So what happened?? Man continued on the course of trying to be God and exhault himself against and above God. That is what happened it is called sin and it will continue until He comes again and God's wrath is poured out the final time. Until then I guess we render unto ceasar that which is ceasar's and pray that God give us wisdom to render unto him those things that are God's that we might escape this rat race.

The "church" gave away its responsibility to the government....
Use to the church took care of the widows and orphans, took care of thier neighbor, gave God the glory:
Nursing homes were almost non-existant.
i think mostly what happened was US!
