A school for witchcraft and wizardry has opened in Austria.
Pupils of the school, which is located in the mountains of Klagenfurt, can take classes in potions and spell making.

[WOW]

Sorcerers' diploma [eek]

This year up to 15 apprentices will also be taught astrology, magic, the history of magic, and meditation.

If they complete six terms successfully they will be awarded a sorcerers' diploma.

The school director, Andreas Starchel, who's also known as Dakaneth, said the school's aim was to teach about the history of witchcraft. [Bang Head]

Nature studies and Celtic and druidic teachings are also likely to feature strongly, but the Harry Potter books are not thought to be on the school's list of recommended reading. [mad2]

"You've got to be kidding", came to my mind at first. I shouldn't be surprised.
As a mother I was wandering if anyone out there has problems with their children and Harry Potter?
I have to admit, I watched the movie and enjoyed it. I watched because I want my children to know what's out there in this world. I want to be there when they see it so I can tell them the truth.
Does anyone know what religions are involved in this school, and if children are the primary targets? [tears]

A 4-year-old girl was critically injured after she apparently tried to fly after watching "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" movie, according to a Local 6 News report.

Authorities in Shelby, N.C., said that the girl watched the movie and then crawled onto a kitchen counter, straddled a broom and then jumped off.

The injured girl was at a neighbor's house when she tried to fly away on the broom.

Her mother reportedly left her in the care of a 14-year-old boy for less than an hour while she went out for food, Local 6 News reported.

The victim was listed in critical condition this weekend, according to the report.
