PORNOGRAPHY

What is pornography? It is any graphic or written material that appeals to prurient interests, and generally designed to produce lustful thoughts and arouse sexual desire.

People who produce pornography are demonized and are powerful tools of Satan. Those who read or look at that filth can become demonized and be in bondage to or "addicted" to pornography. This article is to address the increasing number of Christians who have given in to looking at or reading pornographic material, many of which are in bondage to this sin. In fact, from the reports I have read more than 25% of pastors and church leaders today have become addicted to pornographic material.

The proliferation of pornography is unprecedented in the history of man. The liberal Supreme Court of the United States opened the door for the wide distribution of the vilest filth, including through the U.S. mail. What once was a crime punishable by imprisonment is now a guaranteed right of the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution, notwithstanding the fact that the writers of the Constitution never even imagined including the production and distribution of all that filth.

Pornography opens the door to other sins such as fornication, adultery, child molestation, rape, homosexuality and other related sins. But one does not have to physically commit, for example, the sin of adultery to be guilty of adultery. Jesus said even if a married man looks at a woman to lust after her in his heart, he is guilty of adultery.

If you are a Christian and you read or look at pornography you know that you are sinning and you hope that your sin will not be discovered. You must repent of your sin, forsake it, and ask God to forgive you. If you are in bondage to pornography, if you just can't seem to resist the temptation to look at it, then you probably are demonized. You need to repent, forsake the sin, ask God to forgive you and deliver you from demons. If you are still in bondage (demonized) you probably will need to seek help from a Christian who has had experience with casting out demons.

If you are not a Christian and are reading this article and are in bondage to pornography, this is only one of your many problems. You should repent of your sins, that is, turn from everything that you know is sinful, ask God to forgive you of your sins, and ask Jesus to save you. If you truly mean this with all your heart Jesus will save you.

Anyone who has a problem with pornography, even if you have been set free, must not make provision for this sin. If you are tempted to read or look at pornography you must not even use the Internet. The Internet is one of the vilest sources of pornography. If your eye causes you to sin it is better to pluck it out and throw it away than for your whole body to be thrown into hell (Matthew 5:29).

If you are tempted to look at pornography and must use a computer "pluck out" the modem and stay off the Web. It simply is not worth it, my dear friend. If you are a Christian you grieve the Holy Spirit in you Who must look at that filth with you through your eyes. It brings reproach on the name of Christ among the holy angels and among other Christians when you are caught---and you can be sure your sin will find you out! (Numbers 32:23).

Christians should not watch television for this and other reasons (please see the article titled Should Christians Watch Television?). Get rid of your television whether or not you have a problem with pornography.

This may sound extreme, but even the department store catalogs and many mail flyers have pornographic material in them. Don't even bring them into your residence which should be a holy sanctuary. These and similar materials are dishonoring to a holy God who saved you from your sins if you have been born again.

We are living in the very last days and we have good reasons to believe that the Great Tribulation is on the horizon. Christians will go through that terrible time, and power will be given to the Antichrist to overcome the saints (please see the article titled Pre-Trib Rapture---Fact or Fable?). But many of the saints are already overcome by the spirit of Antichrist by pornography. If one of four church leaders are in bondage to this sin, then how many Christians in general have been overcome?

Pornography is an addiction, but it can be treated and cured by the Spirit. Anyone caught in this addiction can erect filters on their Internet services that can block such material. They can be installed from various security programs or even some internet services. Using such filters should be viewed as a wise decision, just like using sun screen when going out to the beach for some innocent fun in the surf or out on the lake for several hours of fishing. And it helps to stay away from the places where such materials are displayed and sold. Buttons are on TV remotes to allow viewers to control what programs are displayed. Although standards for what is acceptable TV displays of flesh and erotic scenes have drastically changed in recent years, the viewers are still able to reject what they don't want to see. A more disturbing trend in TV programming is the extensive display of physical violence against women in many crime and law enforcement programs. I have a post on my blog that invites viewers to talk with me and others about this problem of violence. It can be seen here: http://christianityetc.org/blog/violence-against-women And there are other posts that invite viewers to comment on "what is good" about TV entertainment and generally what they see. But I'm not getting much discussion regarding these matters from my viewers. I invite your comments. These are serious problems, particularly for an emerging generation of young people who have more easy access to displays of such material in a culture that seems less willing to discuss or to consider the harm of such displays. It will take more than laws to clean up the media.

2Cr 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
[Select for Copy; Double click to (de-)select all] Eph 1:13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
[Select for Copy; Double click to (de-)select all] Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

WildB is correct. A Christian cannot be possessed by a demon. A demon can influence a Christian but not possess his soul.

Yeah i think that one can be demonized [influenced, harrassed,] not possesed if you are Born Again, and are Full of the Holy Spirit.

Matt: 12

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
