Right you are, Carol.
God gave me the inspriation for this parable when I read your other post.
It is amazing how quickly we can get wrapped up in the going on's in our "play-Pen" -- Earth -- and not notice the divine things going on outside of it.
The devil "the older brother" is so ready to distract us.
-------------------- With you I rise, In you I sleep, kneeling down I kiss your feet, Grace abounds upon me now, I once was lost but now I'm found. The gift of God dwells within, To this love I now give in.

Very nice parable!
Satan is always willing to tempt us with lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life. Worldly things can distract us from the love of our Father. We must wear the armor of God to stand against temptation, and trust in His love. He is not unaware of us, but ever near and ready to respond.

A young child sits in his play pen, shaking a blue plastic rattle that has a bright yellow star painted on its side.
He is easily fascinated by his entertaining toy – not paying attention to the world and activity beyond his play pen.
Soon the toddler grows tired of his pretty little play thing and stands up.
Pressing his chubby little feet down on the padded mat of the play pen, he peers over the top – curious about what is going on around him.
He sees his father sitting in his leather rocking chair – and wants affection from him.
The toddler opens his little lips to let out a squeak.
But, his older brother – who is jealous of his fathers love for his younger brother – sees his younger brother baby pleads and quickly runs to his room and grabs another baby toy.
Before the father can take notice of the young toddler in his play pen, the older brother rushed back and threw the new toy into the play pen.
Easily distracted, the toddler sits back down and begins to play with the new toy – forgetting what he really wants is the love of his father.
Because of his desire for entertainment and temporary satisfaction – he forgets again that the love is father is the only thing that can make him truly happy…
Please explain what you think this parable means.
