I looked up all the scriptures stating that Jesus is the Head of The Church... very interesting! I especially like the following:
Eph 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
ty!

I really enjoied this post -- I'm just sorry it took me so long to read it and respond.
SO SO many are making up their own decisions, my self included.
WE are such sinners -- we need to always remember to look to Jesus/God for advice and guidance.
-------------------- With you I rise, In you I sleep, kneeling down I kiss your feet, Grace abounds upon me now, I once was lost but now I'm found. The gift of God dwells within, To this love I now give in.

Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
In a human body, the parts of the body do nothing until the parts are commanded to do something by the head.
Likewise Jesus is the head of the body, the church, and so no one in the church should be thinking anything or doing anything until he or she is told by the head what to do.
That is, the members of the body the church need to stop doing their own thinking, what the Bible calls "do not lean on your own understanding" and "cease from your own works" and "no longer devising one's own ways", etc., and that Christian begins to listen to what the Head Jesus is telling this body to do or say next, by way of the implanted Holy Spirit.
Every morning when we get up we should therefore say by faith, "Thank You God for guiding my steps today", and then that Christian keeps his mind quietly waiting on the Head's counsels and thoughts, believing by faith that if God said that He would guide my steps after I was saved, God will actually guide my steps because I am believing in Him and I have, in anticipation, stopped devising my own ways.
The church is compared to a human body, and Jesus is compared as the head of the body. In a human body, NO BODY PART EVER DOES ANYTHING unless it is first commanded to do so or say or BY THE HEAD.
We need to therefore also "no longer lean on our own understanding" and we need to learn that "man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God".
Body of Christ, are you listening to your Head or are you making up your own stuff?
love, Eden
