For the LORD had sent Joseph ahead of his father and ahead of his 10 half-brothers and ahead of his one full brother Benjamin, because they were going to live for now in the land of Goshen which was a district in Misr Egypt.

Because there was usually grain and fodder in Misr Egypt even when there was a drought in the east Meditrreanean countries like Syria, Lebanon, and Canaan. And the reason why there was usually grain and fodder in Misr Egypt is because Misr Egypt got its water, not from the sky as rain, from the Ethiopian Summer Blue Nile river and from the Ethiopian Summer Atbara river and from the Ethiopian Summer Sobat river and from the yearlong equatorial White Nile river.

So even when there was a drought in the east Mediterranean countries which depended on its water as rainwater from the sky, the LORD wanted to multiply His people of Shemite Jacob-Israel among the Hamite Misr Egyptians.

And so through a series of miracles, the LORD of Jacob-Israel had sent Joseph ahead of his family and this Joseph became Vice-Pharaoh at age 30. And God workd in mysterious ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. Had Joseph not first landed in prison for several years, Joseph would not have met Pharaoh's chief butler and Pharaoh's chief baker who were also cast into Pharaoh's prisonhouse.

While in prison, Pharaoh's chief butler and Pharaoh's chief baker both had a dream and the God of Joseph interpreted the dream for Joseph, in that the chief butler would be restored to his position with Pharaoh but the chief baker would be hanged. Were it not for those dreams, Joseph would not be standing at age 30 before Pharaoh, as the new vice-Pharaoh over Egypt.

And so it occurred just like Joseph's interpretation of the dreams, there were 7 plentiful years in which the ground brought forth abundantly, as is recorded in the Jacob-Israelite tribal writings at Genesis 41:47:

47 And over 7 plentiful years, the ground brought forth [grain] by the handfuls.

48-49 And [Vice-Pharaoh Joseph] gathered all of it up during the 7 years [of plenty] ... and he laid food also up in the storecities ... there was so much [grain] that he quit counting ...

And during the 7 years of plenty, 2 sons were born to the Shemite Jacob-Israelite Joseph and to his Hamite Misr Egyptian wife Asenath, as is recorded in Genesis 41:50ff:

50 And to Joseph [and Asenath] were born 2 sons, before the years of famine began ...

51 And Joseph called their firstborn Manasseh ...

52 And he called the second-born Ephraim ...

Now Joseph and Asenath have 2 very young sons and the 7 years of plenty have come to an end, as is written at Genesis 41:53ff:

53 And the 7 years of plenty ended in the land of Misr Egypt.

So now this Jacob-Israelite Vice-Pharaoh Joseph is 37 years old, because he was 30 years old when he stood before Pharaoh at the beginning of the 7 years of plenty, as was rccorded in Genesis 41:46:

46 And Joseph was 30 years old when he stood before Pharaoh...and he went out and went throughout the land of Misr Egypt.

So at this point, Joseph’s father Jacob is 128 years old and his twin brother Esau is 128 years old and Jacob thinks that Joseph, his son by Jacob's favorite wife Rachel, was torn to pieces by a wild animal when Joseph was 17 years old or thus 20 years ago since Joseph is now 37 years old when the 7 years of plenty end.

Joseph's father Jacob is now 128 years old at Hebron in the land of Hamite Canaan, and if Jacob’s twin brother Esau is still alive at this time in his har or mountain of Seir, his twin brother Esau would also be 128 years old in Seir.

And when Joseph is 37 years old, Joseph’s grandfather Isaac has been buried in the cave of Machpelah in the valley of Hebron for 8 years already (because Jacob and Esau buried their father Isaac when Jacob and Esau were 121 years old).

And Joseph’s full brother Benjamin is now 31 years old (Benjamin is 6 years younger than his full brother Joseph), and Joseph is 30 + 7 years old = Joseph is 37 years old when the 7 years of plenty end, and Jacob and Esau (if Esau is stil alive) are 128 years old when the 7 years of plenty end.

And none of his magicians and wise men could interpret this dream. And it was only then that the chief butler remembered Joseph who in prison had interpreted their dream and how all came out just as Joseph had said, and the chief butler now recommends the Shemite Israelite Joseph to Pharaoh, as is written in Genesis 41:12:

Genesis 41
12-13 [Then the chief butler said to Pharaoh], “There was a young man with me in prison, a Hebrew servant of the captain of the guard, who interpreted our dreams for us. And [the dreams] came to pass exactly as he had interpreted them to us.”

14 Then Pharaoh sent quickly for Joseph...and [Joseph] came up and appeared before Pharaoh.

And Pharaoh said to Joseph in Genesis 41:17ff:

17 “In my dream I stood upon the bank of the river.”

18 “And out of the river came up 7 very good-looking and fat-fleshed cows; and these [fat cows] fed in a meadow [along the bank of the river].”

19 “And 7 other cows came up after them out of the river, bad-looking and and lean-fleshed; and [these lean-fleshed cows] stood by the [fat] cows on the bank of the river.”

20 “And the lean and bad-looking cows ate the 7 good-looking and fat cows.”

21 “And when the [lean] cows had eaten up the [fat] cows, it wasn’t possible to tell that they had eaten them, because they were still bad-looking as at the beginning. And then I awoke.”

And then Pharaoh says that, “I fell asleep again and dreamed a second dream,” similar to the first, as is written in Genesis 41:5:

5 “And [I] slept and dreamed a second time...

22 “And in my [second] dream I saw 7 full and good ears of grain come up on one stock.”

23-24 “And after that came up 7 ears withered and blasted by the [hot] east wind. And the 7 blasted ears ate the 7 good ears.”

25 “And I told this to the magicians, but none of them could declare its meaning to me.”

15 “...But I have heard say of you, that you can understand dreamed and interpret them.”

16 And Joseph said to Pharaoh, “It is not in me; God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”

25 And Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dream of Pharaoh is one dream; God has shown Pharaoh what [God] is about to do.”

29 “There shall come 7 years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt.”

30 And after these [7 years of great plenty] shall arise 7 years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt, so badly shall the famine consume the land.”

32 “...This thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.”

33 “Now let Pharaoh therefore look himself out a discreet and wise man, and set that man over the land of Egypt.”

34-35 “Let Pharaoh do that, and let him appoint officers over the land and take up the 5th part of the [plentiful grain] which shall be in the land of Egypt in those 7 plenteous years. And let all the food of those good years be gathered...and lain up for grain under the hand of Pharaoh; and keep also food in the cities.”

36 And that food shall be stored in the land against the 7 years of famine which shall follow these [7 years of plenty] in the land of Egypt, so that the land [of Egypt] doesn’t perish through the famine.”

39-40 And then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you these things, there is none so discreet and wise as you are. You shall be over my house and according to your word shall all my people be ruled; only in the throne shall I be greater than you.”

42 And Pharaoh took his ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and he clothed [Joseph, who was earlier today in prison] in fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

45 ...And to Joseph [Pharaoh] gave Asenath, the daughter of...[the]
priest of On as a wife...

46 And Joseph was 30 years old when he stood before Pharaoh of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout the land of Egypt.

So here we see that Joseph is 30 years old when he becomes Vice-Pharaoh of Egypt. His father Jacob is still at Hebron in the land of Canaan and Jacob is 121 years old and Jacob's twin brother Esau is also 121 years old and together they just buried their father Isaac (who is also Joseph's grandfather Isaac) at age 180 in the cave of Machpelah in the valley of Hebron.

And Joseph’s full brother Benjamin is 6 years younger than Joseph, so Benjamin is 24 years old and is also still at Hebron in the land of Canaan, while his full brother Joseph has just become Vice-Pharaoh of Egypt at age 30.
