That was certainly irreverent. Have you really put your faith in Christ?

John 14:16-17 (NASB)
16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

Unbelievers do not know the Holy Spirit.

Christians do not "summon up" the Holy Spirit for He is the Spirit of God and of Christ and He is Holy beyond all human experience. We are blessed to be in His presence. We are blessed that the Father sent Him to be with us forever.

Hi wincam,

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. " Romans 9:8

Man and GOD coexist in Jesus. Like this the body with its nature and the Holy Spirit giving life to our spirit coexist in us.

"16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." Gal 5:16-17

The unbelievers can't understand or experience this. That is why we "Turn from your sins. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved."

of course all this and much else is sheer blasphemy and unforgiveable to claim that the HS via inspiration is responsible for the divergence, differences, divisions, contradictions, confusion and chaos - this is truly unforgiveable since it is not going to be readily repented in the short or long term - wincam

Hi Wincam,

Man is fallible, God is not. The Holy Spirit lives within to lead and guide us into all truth, but when our fleshly desires come alive, we veer off from the truth of the gospel.

Who is claiming that the Holy Spirit is responsible for divisions, contradictions, confusion, etc?

He, the Holy Spirit only leads us into Truth, Jesus is the Truth. He reminds us all of what Jesus said/says.

If man is acting out of the carnal flesh, it is not the Holy Spirit's lead, guidance or action.

When you are born again you then will receive the Holy Spirit.

These verses are telling us that the believer in Jesus Christ has the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, living in him. When an individual accepts Christ as personal Savior, the Holy Spirit gives the believer the life of God, eternal life, which is really His very nature (Titus 3:5; 2 Peter 1:4), and the Holy Spirit comes to live within him spiritually.
