This morning I spent my morning listening to four lectures done at Dallas Theological Seminary. Mark Devers was the guest speaking.

I choose to quote something he said because I am familiar by my own experiences with with flavor of it.

He said "Don't mistake orthodoxy with Spiritual vitality".
quote:
Don't mistake orthodoxy with Spiritual vitality.
Adding to this quote, I will post a scripture which may add to the flavor.

quote:
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 2 Cor

You see, there are plenty of people, even demons, who can quote the bible front to back, they have studied the fathers of the faith, they may even know Greek and Hebrew. They may even try to make sure that you know, they know it. Yet. In all their knowing, in all their doing, In all their pious living and Pharisaical following, If they do not have The Spirit of God

They are nothing.

Food for thought

You kinda missed verse 37. Its who 38-39 was addressing.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Please learn how to rightfully dived the Word.

This is the word of faith, which we preach

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
