Interesting, article. I believe that mental illness can be caused by two ways at least. One is moral failure like he said. The other is trama. My sister was rapped as a young girl by our cousin. She was ashamed and told no one, in her teens she developed bo-polar. She was a Christian. She married a Pastor who sadly was abusive, physically and emotionally. He in my opinion drove her to suicide.

My sister fault hard against her illness. The letter she left talked about how much she loved God. Someone saw her about 30 minutes before she died and he said it looked she was praying.

There is no doubt that giving yourself to sin and taking medication that warps your brain can indeed lead to mental illness, too.

As Christians, we should pray for those who suffer mental and emotional issues.
