I agree that Mr. Hinn needs to repent if he is not following after God's Heart. I know that men of faith will fall, look at Jimmy Swaggert, he did the right thing, asking for forgiveness from God first then the rest of the world, I do admire him for that [Smile]

Betty:
I agree about the healing; God sometimes heals in this life, but sometimes it does not come until the next life. That is sooooo important!

Sometimes too God uses man to be the one that gives or tranfers his healing power, but God heals when he chooses, whom he chooses and through what ever means he chooses.

I also agree with Deb that it is sad that some will not be phased by these things and will continue to seek Hinn for healing and continue to support his "minstry". This is not the first time Dateline has covered him. I think that it was 2003 when I saw their last program that dealt with who gets to see Hinn and who does not; it was equally sad.

I would never second guess what God can or may do in the life of Benny Hinn, but I have no problem stating that at this present he teaches heresey and false doctrine and that can be proven scripturally. And God has given the scriptures that we may do just that and in the Revelation, the churches are chastised for failing to do just that and praise is given to those who have done just that.

I have no problem saying that his cursing of anyone including a saint who would come against him or the crouch's is wrong and I heard him speak that one with my own ears.

I believe that we certainly should pray for Hinn as we should pray for any man...that God would show him where there is error and bring him to repentence and forgive his sins and use him to bring about HIS perfect will in the earth.

I also believe that we should pray for this body that they be able to discern that which is of God and that which is of flesh,or worse that which is of Satan and even more that we should pray for the world that they not be lead astray by the apostate, or deceived by Satan, but that the Holy Spirit would lead them to the Truth that is Christ.

"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
(Matthew 24:11)

"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
(Matthew 24:24)

"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "So then, you will know them by their fruits.
(Matthew 7:15-20)

"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
(Matthew 7:22-23)

IF there is ANY fear of God in him he'd better be REAL REAL nervous about judgement day

Don't wish for a better day
Be glad and use the one you're in
Fear God and do exactly what He says
That's what matters
All else fades like the flowers

Yes, I saw Dateline last night and I am not going to make a comment either way about the programme.

I know in my Spirit that God has given Benny Hinn an anointing, and I don't want to tamper with God's property in case I bring judgment on myself.

Now this anointing may have gone awry, but all I can do is pray for Mr. Hinn, and if he is guilty, pray that he steps forward, speaks up and asks for forgiveness. The true judgment is between him and his Master. I refuse to cast the first stone.

James 5:9
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

Interesting... very interesting (about Hinn that is).

What is truly sad about this is that there will be those who refuse to believe this report (even if they saw it with their own eyes). They will continue to send him money even if they can't afford it. They will continue to follow this mans heritical teachings (e.g., "I am a little messiah") and will believe that it is ok for a Godly person to pronounce a "Curse" on his enemies instead of following Jesus' command to "Love your enemies and do go to them who use you."

I pray for the people who follow Hinn, that the Lord would remove the scales from their eyes and turn their hearts to HIM instead of this false teacher.

I'm not judging his salvation (as Linda said), but I do judge his teaching and false prophecies (e.g., Jesus will appear bodily at one of his cursades - didn't happen, and it won't).

Y'all knew I couldn't resist this thread... [Wink]

Betty, I'm in Total Agreement with you that the Lord Always heals. Rather it be here on Earth, or by taking the one in need of healing Home to be with HIM [Smile] Sometimes the latter is the bigger blessing!

I believe God heals. But, I don't think you have to go to someone special. Over 35 years ago, a Pastor we had (not then but later, [Big Grin] ) was healed of cancer. The doctors said no hope. The Church prayed together all night. The next day they did surgery and the doctor said it was a miracle, no cancer. Today that preacher is almost 80 and is cancer free. He gives God all the glory.
The problem with people like Benny Henn is he does not tell people that God sometimes heals on this earth and sometimes he does the healing in heaven. When my dad died I was very angry. My mom and dad had spend the last 25 years of their marriage caring for loved ones (sick ones) in their home. We three girls always prayed that God would give mom and dad some time together to travel and have fun before they died. Never happened. Dad grew ill and died before the last relative they were taking care of died. I was so mad at God. My sister reminded me that God did heal dad but in Heaven. I don't understand why God did not choose to give mom and dad some fun time. But, one day, I will. For now it is trusting in HIm. But, for those not a Christian, they drag their love ones to one of those meetings and the person may not get healed, what does that do them? We had a realitive that was a preacher that had a daughter that was brain damaged since a baby. They drugged that poor thing from healing meeting to healing meeting for over 20 yrs. Ironcally she passed away recently at the age of over 50 and she had alot of people from the special home she was in after her parents died that came to her funeral and talked about how she was such an insperation to them of God. So maybe that was her ministry on earth. I just don't know

Yes, God will certainly deal with him! What is sad to me is the damage that this kind of thing does to the Gospel for the unbeliever and the stumbling block that it causes for the weak of faith.

I do not believe that we can judge Hinn's salvation because God could tomorrow turn his lif upside down and inside out and bring him to repentance of all his sin and we do not know at this point if God will or will not do this. The rapture could happen tomorrow and Hinn could be left behind and wash his robes in the blood of the Lamb and lay down his life in the Great Tribulation for the witness of Christ. We just do not know.

But we certainly can judge the errors in doctrine that he speaks today; we can certainly judge the poor stewardship of spending 11,000 dollars on a night's hotel stay. We certainly can judge the lies he tells of healing that did not happen; we certainly can judge the cursing of God's people that he does when people oppose him; we certainly can judge the lack of Godly piety we can see in his life or the lack of spiritual fruit that we can see in his life.

This is true for any of us; It is not wrong for me to look and say I do not see meekness or I do not see patience or I do not see whatever....

Paul certainly did this when he told the Corintians that they were yet carnal.

Additionally, I believe that God does give the power to get wealth for HIS purpose. I believe that God does give some power to get great wealth, again for HIS purpose; I do not be grudge any man for wealth... but I do take issue with how a Godly man spends his wealth and How he gains his wealth and I think that this is right for us to do.

They had documentation of Benny Hinn spending thousands of dollars on the most expensive hotel rooms in resorts towns, on what his people called lay over trips in-between preaching. They had prove he stayed in one hotel that was almost 11,000 dollars a night. Private pool, spa, Turkish bath, etc.
They showed a little boy that was on his show years ago that was supposed to be healed of eyesight problems. One the show, he promised the boy that he would take care of his financial needs including money for school. Sadly, the boy is still ill and Benny never gave the family any money but Benny is showing the tape on his show in an effort to raise money. It made me sad to watch that show.
They had documentation of extravagant meals of almost a 1,000 dollars. It made me so sad because there are people who give to him, who can’t afford to go out to eat at Dennys.
I never watch his show because frankly he makes me nervous. But, I never judge him. I am still not going to say yea or nay. But, if those allegations are true, then I fear for him.
