Good Afternoon and Happy Friday,

Had the best Thanksgiving yesterday at my Daughter’s house. Her husband, daughter, and herself worked hard to produce a lovely meal. Our Son and his new Wife was there. It was a lovely meal with lovely people. I enjoyed it very much. I feel so blessed. We had fried turkey, baked turkey a fancy mashed potato dish, dressing and homemade cranberry sauce. Out daughter-in-law brought a delicious sweet potato casserole and a Swedish dessert. My daughter had made 4 kinds of pies. It was a wonderful time with our family.

Later we spend time with my sister, her husband, her son and her granddaughter. We had such a sweet day with family yesterday. I feel doubly blessed.

Last night I woke up twice and was awake for 2 hours each time. Fibro is acting up and I haven’t even gotten out of bed, except to get something for pain. Resting is okay and I do not even feel guilty. Our Son-in-law prayed before the meal and he thanked God for family time and I too am thankful to God for family time. Noting beats being with family.

Yesterday, was Thanksgiving Day, but we should be thankful every day. God supply’s so many blessings in each of our lives. Knowing how much Our Heavenly Father love us is the biggest blessing of all. God gives us peace and He fills our hearts with hope. What a wonderful blessing it is talk to God every day! To seek His guidance daily! Knowing that He never takes a day off nor does He every forget us.

I pray for everyone who reads this. That God will provide your needs. That He will fill your hearts with peace and joy.
Betty

Good Afternoon and Blessed Wednesday,

When I got up this morning and started doing my morning chores, thankfulness was not my guiding thought. My body started hurting in several areas. It hurt to walk, but I was reminded that I can still walk. Other areas hurt, but I can still take care of myself. Being thankful through pain is not always easy, but it is the right thing to do. No! This does not give us the license to tell someone that is in pain “it could be worse”. This does not help and will only cause hurt feelings.

What do we do when we and others are suffering? We pray. We pray for comfort and we pain for relief. We thank God for what we still can do and the many blessings we have in Christ. When we talk to God about our situation, we learn to be content and at peace. All of us deal with different issues and these issues are important to us. Remember if they are important to us, then they are important to God. When my hubby saw his eye doctor the next day after the surgery. Hubby reminded the doctor that he had said there would be no pain, but that night the pain level was high. The Doctor replied “I could care less about your pain, as long as the eye is fixed. Of course we wanted his eye fixed but that night he was real concerned about the pain. His surgeon has no bed side manner but he did his job.

God does care about our pain and needs and He can do all things. So why does God allow people like me to hurt every day? Just as Paul prayed for the thorn to be removed and God said no:

2 Corinthians 12:8-10Good News Translation (GNT)
8 Three times I prayed to the Lord about this and asked him to take it away. 9 But his answer was: “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ's power over me. 10 I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

There are many answers to questions we have, that we will not receive until we walk through the gates of Heaven. It must be enough that God’s grace will carry us through every storm and He will be with us until we join Him in Heaven.

Let us be thankful and trusting Children of God. Let us walk in the path that God has chosen for us without grumbling. We have not reach our destination nor have we entered Heaven. This suffering we partake in, is just a temporary hardship when we consider the length of eternity.

Betty
Still have a few tiny birds, visiting.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

We don’t always wake up bright-eyed and bushy tailed. Some days we crawl out of our bed feeling like energy level is close to zero and our mind is still in sleepy land. As much as we need our sleep, we do not always sleep well. Worries can keep you awake. Pain can keep us awake.

Life doesn’t stop because we are tired and appointments still must be kept. On days like these we can pray for a special touch from God. Pray for added protection. Pray for His guidance to keep us from making a mis-step. I believe God is pleased when we see our need and we ask for it.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

James 4:3King James Version (KJV)3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

God wants us to talk to Him. To share not only our needs with Him, but to share our feelings and desires. When we praise God, Jesus will shower us with his love and blessings. We can share our hidden needs and desires with Jesus. We can open up to Him about fears and our worries. A relationship with God is the most important relationship we have. Our we putting an effort into this relationship? Are we seeking ways in which this relationship can grow? Are protecting and guarding this relationship?

Proverbs 4:23King James Version (KJV)23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life

Philippians 4:7King James Version (KJV)7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

There are many important things we do but working on our relationship with God, should be #1.
We need to stop treating our relationship with God, like it is an afterthought, but guard it as the true gem it is.

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

Psalm 31:3King James Version (KJV)3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

Let us be honest with ourselves. We seek for God to guide us every day, but there are times we are tempted to go our own pathway and expect God to follow and protect us. We still want His protection, but for that period of time, we want to do our thing. We can even boast in our selves that God will see the wisdom of our decision that surely our way is much better. Again let us be honest with ourselves, has this ever worked out for our good? While our plans may seem the best. The path we have chosen may seem less dark and dreary and filled with flowers and nature’s beauty, but it doesn’t work out that way.

The path that God has chosen for us, may be dark and dreary. There may be hills to fall off of and valleys to fall into. So why would a God who loves so much choose the bitter path over the straight beautiful path? God wants us to grow spiritually. If we never go through the darkness we will miss out on the spiritual growth that comes from walking through the darkness with God. If our paths are always straight and wide we will continue to be baby Christians. We can remain baby Christians from the day of salvation until we die, yet there is a cost for that decision. When something bad happens we have no faith and no spiritual strength to sustain our faith and may be like the seed planted in rocky ground that blows away and forsakes God. Even if we manage to stay a baby Christian to the end, there will be much shame and tears for us, when we stand before Christ at the Judgement Seat of Christ.

If we truly love God we will want to obey Him. Obedience will cause us to choose to walk on the paths that God chooses for us. When we refuse to walk God’s path then we have become rebellious children.

Isaiah 30:1King James Version (KJV)30 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Isaiah 30:9King James Version (KJV)9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:

We do not have to walk in rebellion but we can be obedient children with hearts open to the call of God, willing to submit to His Ways and His Guidance.

1 Peter 1:14New King James Version (NKJV)14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;

Do we trust God? Do we trust God to take us down the path that is good not only for the Kingdom of God but good for our own spiritual health?

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,

Every day it seems as if a new celebrity has been revealed to be guilty of sexual misconduct. This kind of thing has been going on since Hollywood opened its door so why are we now hearing about these things? The Bible says our sins will find us out. For the guilty, this may be a good thing. They are forced to account for what they did. This exposure could also allow their heart to see their need not only for public forgiveness but most important forgiveness from God.

Do I see a mass of sinners calling out to God? Sadly, some have hardened their hearts to the point that their public apology is no more then a publicity stunt. Yet, at the same time, God is giving sinners a chance to admit their need for forgiveness from God. Whether we are the local garbage collector or a well known celebrity, our need for God and His forgiving blood is the same. God sent His only Son to die for all. God gives everyone a chance to see their sins and repent and turn away from sin.

As we look on from the outside, let us not be so quick to judge but quick to pray for these lost souls. Pray that their hearts would soften and their ears be quickened to the call of the Holy Spirit to seek forgiveness from God. As we see the age of grace come to a close, our hearts should yearn to see salvation come to men and women and their families. It does not matter how rich you are or how powerful you are, or how big a celebrity you are, eternity in hell will be hell.

Betty

Saw little birds at the feeder this morning. This brightened my day.

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

This has been a long week for me. Driving almost and hour and half each way three times this week and back to the VA. Squeezing in a Doctor’s visit for me and dealing with my health issues. Monday was an extremely long day at the VA and as I drove home, I prayed that God would protect me.

We all have long days that we struggle. It is tempting to become irritable and frustrated. When we begin to talk to God, He will calm our spirit and bring us peace of heart and mind. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, let us turn our situation over to God. One day I prayed most of the way home. Time, well invested.

This is not a peaceful world we live in. Even though we go about our business the same way in most circumstances as we did years ago. The fact is the world is changing and not for good. Random shooting and murder has come almost like the norm. Storms strength and damages grow stronger each year.

The world is growing closer to accepting the anti-Christ as a One world leader. Not only is the Pope calling for a One World Government and Religion but so are leaders of our Country and other Countries. This is why President Trump is under constant fire from Democrats as well as Republicans. He does not play into the hands of the agenda of those who agenda is a One World Government.

It was shocking to hear the Bush family talk publicly about voting for Hillary, but then pieces fell in place for me. The Bush Family is for a One World Government and have been working towards this goal for decades. They knew Hillary’s lust for power would cause her to do exactly what they told her to do. During the election period, George Soras ( One who is pulling the strings for a One World Government) bragged about owning Hillary.

Everything is not falling apart, my friends, as it seems. Things are falling into place for the One World Government. People know longer respect the flag, the National Anthem or our Country. 40% of Americans are now against democracy and welcome Socialism for our Country. These people who feel enlighten in their movement are working, unknowingly for Satan and they are helping him put his plans for this world into operation.

The answer for Christians is not to close our eyes and pretend we are living in the 50’s. It is to acknowledge that we are living in the last days and prepare our hearts for the soon return of Jesus for His Own. Do not allow any sin hidden or not to go uncovered by Jesus’s blood. Seek forgiveness of sin and turn away from sin. This is also not the time to become fearful. The times we are living in did not take God unaware. He warned us about these times in His Holy Word. Trust God live in His righteousness and look up for our redemption draws neigh.

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday,

Uncertainty

We live in a time of uncertainty. Random violence has happened so often, that if we are not careful we can become desensitized to these events. Wars and rumors of new wars are spoken so often that is tempting to just blow them off. God warned us the last days would be like this. He called these happenings: birth pains. The closer we get to ‘The Day of the Lord’, the closer and harder the birth pains will become.

God did not warn us so that we become fearful, but for us to know the times we are living in. Just as a farmer knows when to plant seeds, a Christian needs to be aware of the times they are living in. Knowing the we are living in the last days, should cause us to work harder for God, but also to stay close to God. These is not the time to allow our faith in God to weaken and our work for Him to cease.

When we leave the house each day, we do not know everything that will happen to us that day. We do know who are guide is and who are traveling companion is, and that is our Heavenly Father. There is no need for us to live our day in fear and apprehensive. We put our complete trust in God. God has already been in the future and the past and He is making a way for us. Of course we would love for God to give us an break down of what is going to happen, but that is not trusting in God.

We might think we can not live like that. Yet when we get on a plane and we trust the pilot to get us to our destination. How much more should we relax and put our trust in God! Even the pilot doesn’t know for certain how the flight will go. On the other hand God knows how today will go and how a thousand years from today will go. Our trust in God is in safe hands.

When tragedy happens pray for those involved and every day put your trust in God. He is coming for us soon and we can trust Him while we wait for His return for us.

Betty

I saw a video on Facebook yesterday that showed a cat, gently petting a bird. That was so sweet.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

The Daily Bread Devotional talked about using all that wasted time of waiting, for prayer and meditating on God. We seem to be living in a hurry up and wait World. Where ever your appointment is, they will insist that you be there at a certain time, only to make you wait 30 minutes are more. It is so tempting to sit there and fret and fuss in our heads and with others waiting. By the time we are seen, we are not in the best of moods, for sure. Of course we all spend a lot of time waiting in traffic.

Yet, there is a better use of our time. Look around the waiting room, and watch people. You are sure to see someone you feel led to pray for. When On the road, you can pray for other drivers. Talk to God about your feelings and ask Him to calm your spirit. Pray for your loved ones and friends. Praise God for your blessings. Spending time with God will give you peace of heart and mind. While allowing your mind to grow more angry by the moment will only agitate yourself and make you feel bad.

In the scheme of things, waiting while frustrating, is not the worse thing to happen in the world. There are so many tragedies and acts of violence that break our heart. We can not fix those personally affected by those things but we can pray for them. We need to remind ourselves frequently that prayer is not the last thing we can do, it is the first thing we should do. As Christians, we underestimate the value of prayer. Prayer is a miracle in its self. Talking to All Mighty God is a miracle and Him actually listening and reacting to our prayers is even a bigger miracle. So what do we do when something unsettling or a tragedy happens? We pray!

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

Walking One With God

3 John 4King James Version (KJV)4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

God wants us to live our life walking in His truth and on His paths. In the 50’s and early 60’s someone was admired for living a Godly life. Today things have changed, just as the Bible said it would. Living in a way that pleases God, no longer is admired. People either look at you as being naive or ignorant to the World’s idea of good. Having set morals is being closed minded, while being okay with whatever makes people happy is considered open minded. Instead of being respected for having principals, you are libeled to be pitied or hated.

God’s truth has not changed. We cannot please God and the world at the same time. God does not want us living our lives on the fence trying to please God and mankind. The closer you get to the fence the bigger your risk to backsliding.

Matthew 6:24King James Version (KJV)24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Today’s motto “I do my own thing and I am okay with people living the way that makes them happy” is not an admirable attitude, in the eyes of God. Our hearts should be broken as we see people living Godless lives on their way to hell. Abortion should break our hearts. The idea of innocent unborn babies being murdered in the womb should not be accepted, nonchalantly by Christians. While we can only do so much about it, like voting for people who are against abortion, we should not accept it as the way things are. We should pray for the people who no longer see babies as a gift from God, but as a inconvenience to be gotten rid of.

I am not saying go around with a frown and let others see how “godly” we are by looking down on others. This attitude of I am better then others is prideful and a sin. We should be walking so close to God that others will realize that there is something different about us without us saying a word. The way we live our lives should bring sinners under conviction. Even if we find some people avoiding us because we make them uncomfortable, on some level that see God in us. In their times of need, they will know that they can trust us to pray for them and help them as best we can.

If the love of God does not shine through us and people around us can not tell that we are different, then there may be something wrong with us spiritually. If we are trying to fit into the world, we may have stepped off God’s path for us.

John 17:16King James Version (KJV)16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

For a Christian, it is no compliment for someone we are around a lot to say: “I did not know you were a Christian”. If our lifestyle is no different then the world, we are not living righteous, Godly lives. If we tell crude jokes and curse, we are not being faithful to God. God did not save us from sin for us to live just like the world. God did not call us to impress the world by living in a way that the World approves of. We are to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God.

2 Corinthians 6:17King James Version (KJV)17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

We are coming to a point that we will have to choose God or man. Are we prepared to step up for Christ, or are we content to hide in the shadows so that people cannot see Jesus in us? If forced to declare in public our faith, can we do so without fear? The time to prepare ourselves to not be ashamed of our faith is now and not when being a Christian is illegal. Stop hiding your relationship with Christ. It is not about walking around thinking we are better then others. It is about living so close to Jesus that others can see Jesus in us. We are to be a walking testimony of the love of Christ. Our spiritual health should be so strong that our lives reflect God’s love to others. If we are hiding our faith to impress others, we are in danger of backsliding.

We need to choose who we are more concerned with pleasing, God or mankind.

Betty

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

It seems like in life that things seem to go wrong in bunches. My hubby had eye surgery yesterday, which means visits yesterday and today. He has an appointment Friday and two next week. My son is on vacation and my daughter is having health issues and now I need to fit in a doctor’s visit for me. I could not sleep very well last night because I was worried how I would fit all things in. I kept telling myself to leave it to God and go to sleep, but my mind just kept on turning.

Truth is we all have times like this. It seems there is more things there on are to do list and not enough time to do it. We try to relax, but telling ourselves to relax, rarely works. Sometimes trying to leave it in God’s hands doesn’t seem possible. After a restless night though comes the morning. With the morning we often find peace. Our brain that was so tired the night before is more relax and as we begin to relax, we find that we can leave our needs in Christ. The more we begin to rest in God the more at peace our mind becomes.

We will have times that we are overwhelmed. This is a part of life. The more times we take this issues to Jesus, the less time we will fret and worry. God sees our situation and He knows our concerns. He even understands our tendency to worry. Some people see worrying as a sin. I don’t really think it is a sin, unless we decide to camp in worry land. When we do begin to worry, we take it to Jesus. We trust Him to find away for us to accomplish what needs to be done. There will be times like with me last night that it takes a little while for our mind to be at peace. In times like that just talk to Jesus.

Have a blessed day. Talk to the Lord about your issues and take some time to rest your body and mind. God bless and keep you.

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,

This morning at 11:30, Churches are having a minute of silence for the people to pray for the Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. I believe this is a good thing. People coming together in prayer for people here in Texas who are suffering so. Prayer is such a simple thing to do yet, prayer is powerful enough to move mountains. We have a tendency to say “all I can do is Pray”. This should be the first thing we do.

Of course following prayer we should do whatever we can do help. The Bible says:

James 2:15-18King James Version (KJV)
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

We are God’s hands and feet on earth. If you know of a person who is hungry and you can take them some food, then prayer alone is not enough. Of course we cannot feed every person on earth. That is why we pray that God will supply to the hungry around the world. But if your neighbor is in need, God wants to use you, to feed your neighbor. As James said, works do not save us, but works is prove of our salvation.

God is working in providing for the Church in Sutherland Springs. The Baptist Convention is paying for the funerals and a man who makes coffins drove 100 miles to donate coffins. Of course when the physical needs are provided continued prayer is a important need. Anyone who has lost a loved one knows that the suffering of that lost does not end at the funeral. This kind of pain last a long time we as their brothers and sisters in Christ should pray for them often that God will comfort them.

Let us share God’s mercy with others by acts of kindness and a tender word to those who are suffering in so many ways today. Let us be a walking blessing to others. May God bless you and keep you close to Him, always.
Betty

P.S. please pray for my Hubby. He has eye surgery tomorrow. He has had a mild stroke so I am always nervous when he has surgery. God is good and I trust Him.

Good Afternoon and A Big Thank You! To Every Veteran,

A veteran is known for their faithfulness to this Country. We live in an age when faithfulness is not admired as it once was and is not practiced as often. I read of a Hollywood couple that have been married over 50 years. The wife said what made their marriage last was that it was an open marriage. They did not believe a couple could be faithful through out marriage so they acted on their lust for others. This made me very sad. They saw sex as an activity that was not based on love. They felt they could love one another and yet be intimidate with other people.
God says that when we are intimidate with a person we become one with that person. When you are intimate with other people out side the marriage, you are cheating your mate of a special part of yourself.

Faithfulness is still a great trait. Whether it is faithfulness to your Country or your mate. The most important relationship we can have is with God. Faithfulness to God should be the backbone of our relationship. God does not want a Sunday only relationship with us. Sadly, we can treat God like a stray dog, just throwing Him bits of what is left of us, at the end of the day. A quick prayer before we fall asleep. We all have done this. We get so caught up in activities that we do not even think of God, until we fall into bed at the end of an exhausting day. A mumbled prayer being all we can even stay awake for. May God forgive us.

God wants us to communicate with Him through out the day. No! He doesn’t want us to quit our jobs and move out to the woods and pray all the time. But, we can communicate through out the day. Thank Him in the morning for waking us up to a new day. We can talk to Him as we drive to work or to the store. We can pray for those we come in contact with throughout the day. When we communicate through out the day, even the quick prayer at bedtime has more meaning.

God is faithful to us, let us strive to be faithful to Him. The more we talk to God the closer our relationship with Him grows. The closer our relationship is, the more at peace we will be. The more at peace we are the more our hearts our filled with joy. Joy not based on our circumstances but based on our relationship with Christ.

Let us live our lives so that when we enter the gates of Heaven, Jesus will say to us:

Matthew 25:23King James Version (KJV)23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday,

Is my Ministry for God, more important then God?

Does that seem like a trick question? Can we become more involved in serving God then knowing God? Can we become more worried about impressing others with our Ministry then caring about God’s opinion of our work? There was a time that Israel just did the sacrifices to God as just a routine, while they lived in sin. This is what God told them, through Isaiah:

Isaiah 1:11King James Version (KJV)11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

Yes, they were doing the sacrifices that God told them to do, but their hearts were not in it. Our work for God and our financial offerings can become meaningless to God, if we are doing them only as a routine and not out of a heart of love. When what we do for God becomes more about appearance and ritual routines, our sacrifices, become meaningless to God.

How precious is our salvation to us? Do we rejoice in the knowledge that God sent His Son to die for us? As we become seasoned Christians, are we taking our salvation for granted? God forbid, but as we do more for God, do we become guilty of glorification of ourselves?

Luke 18:9-14King James Version (KJV)9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Of course we would never say the prayer that the proud man said, but is that our attitude? In our daily lives are we becoming more drawn to God? Do we love God more today then the day we got saved?

Revelation 2:4-5King James Version (KJV)4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Those are serious words. This should wake us up and cause to do some soul searching. There is no doubt that the work that God has called us to do, is important. God wants to reach others through our work for Him. Let us make sure we are doing our work for Him and not for acclimation from other people. This doesn’t mean we cannot accept a compliment. Just make sure your motivation for your work is pleasing God and not other people. In the end His opinion is what counts.

As we draw closer to the end of grace, we see evil abound. Let us not become slothful and less interested in pleasing God. Instead let us pray more and seek God’s Will more and more. Pray more for lost souls and share God’s love more with others as our time on earth, draws to an end. Work for the night is coming.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

I am sure it is the same with you as it is with me. The tragedy of the Church shooting last Sunday, still saddens me. Yes, we know they are with God now, but the senseless killing of babies, children, and adults makes us angry and we grieve. We look around and we see evil and we wonder where was God, Sunday? God was with those people as He led them into Heaven.

Life is hard and sometimes we feel as we have been slammed to the floor by tragedies and violence that is prevalent in our world today. The Bible warned us of the birth pains of this age and how they would come faster and harder as time comes to a close. Yet, it is one thing to read about it and one thing to live it. Fear can over take us and if we are not careful depression can send us to our beds. Remember God did not tell us to hide in this times or to just give up. We are warriors for God and it is time to make sure we are equipped with the amour that God has provided. Do not attempt to fight the devil in our flesh.

Ephesians 6:10-18King James Version (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

There is no shame in grieving over lost of lives. There is no shame in grieving over loss of our health. We need though to guard our hearts so the devil does not use our despair to cause us to question our faith in God. Take your pain and your fears to Jesus. He may not give us the answers to our questions today, but He will hold us and comfort us through our pains and our despair. Instead of allowing the devil to influence us to run from God let us run to God. When we go to Him, He will comfort us and give us the strength to carry on until He comes for us.

The people who passed away last Sunday have gone to Heaven and in time we will join them, where the devil and His demons can never touch or harm us again. Rejoice in this knowledge and pray for the wounded and the families that have lost loved ones.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

I keep a calendar on the kitchen cabinet to post appointments. I have this fear of missing one so the night before, I also put a note beside the coffee pot. As we get older, remembering day to day activities, is harder to do. I used to wonder why old people could talk about years past and what happened but could not always remember what they did yesterday. I am there, now. Trust me is it is quiet easy.

One thing we should never have to work to remember, is the we are a child of God. This should be so intwined within our being that the very presence of God leaks out into every thing we say and do. We should wake up with thoughts of our Heavenly Father and go to bed the same way. If we make a point of getting up with praise on our lips for Jesus and do the same before we fall asleep, we will not forget.

Of course life can side track us. Someone cuts us off on the road and let’s face it, what we are thinking about at that moment would not always be something we want to share in Church. What do we do in these moments. We ask forgiveness and then we pray for that driver. Of course we don’t always think the wrong thing. Sometimes we remember to do the right thing. When I took Hubby to the VA, the last time, an eighteen wheeler started over in my lane. I honked to get his attention and he moved back in his lane, quickly. I prayed for him, because I felt the man was tired.
In these times that people act unkindly or just make a human error, let us try to remember to pray for them. Only God knows what they are going through.

Our relationship with Christ is the most important one we have. Our love ones die and so do we and only the relationship with Jesus will last through eternity. Once we leave this life, there is not a do-over. What we did in this lifetime for Christ will be all that matters. Do not grief over your past. Yes, we all have wasted years that we thought only of our own needs. While there is no do-over there is a begin again. Start this day and every day going forward to put God first in your life. God should come before, family, jobs, and Church. Family members pass away. When you retire or move to a new job, they soon forget you. Sometimes we move and change Churches. The relationship that we can count on to last forever is our relationship with God.

Of course we should do right by people. Love others, family and strangers, but make sure our priorities are in the right order. There is no person on earth, worth going to hell for. When we put God first and love Him, He will help us arrange the rest of our lives. When asked if you are a Christian, there should never be an hesitation in our answer. We should proclaim our salvation with pride, not in ourselves, but the God whose mercy allowed His Son to die in our place to pay for our salvation.

Matthew 10:32-33King James Version (KJV)
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Betty

Revelation 22:20King James Version (KJV)20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Good Afternoon and Happy Tuesday,

Psalm 23King James Version (KJV)
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

God is with us throughout our whole life. He is with us when we are born and if we allow, He will continue to be with us till the day we die. Only we can hardened our hearts to the point that we no longer hear the Holy Spirit speaking to us. It is only at this point that the Holy Spirit will leave us.

Jeremiah 18:12 “But they will say, 'It's hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.'

Matthew 13:15 FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.'

Romans 2:5. But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Revelation 16:9. Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.

Revelation 16:11......and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.

Matthew 12:31. Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
32 And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come.

God wants His children to be humble and soft hearted. He wants us to keep our ears and eyes opened so that we are able to hear the soft voice of the Holy Spirit. Keep our heart open to the truth of the Gospel of Christ. Read the Word of God so that we can learn the truth of the Gospel. I have heard it said that the Bible is a Love Story Between God and Mankind.

We do not have to harden out hearts to God’s truth. When we sin, instead of becoming angry, let us seek forgiveness and bear the discipline with humble hearts. Just as a parent disciplines a child so they do not get hurt, the Heavenly Father disciplines His Children so we will stay on His path and not wander off like a stubborn lamb. Do not become puffed up by your successes, but stay humble and aware of the great sacrifice that Jesus paid for your salvation.

We are aware of the times we are living, bear in mind that so is the devil. He will seek to destroy you. Remember that your Heavenly Father has defeated the devil once and He will be the one that throws the devil in the lake of fire for eternity. Take your fears and concerns to God. Trust in Him, completely.

Betty

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

Broken Pieces

'Most of our church family is gone': Pastor's wife mourns shooting victims in emotional statement.

Today we continue to grieve with the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas, a community 30 miles southeast of San Antonio. Thankfully most of us can not relate to losing a member of your family and most of your Church Family. We often feel that saying “I am praying for you” sounds empty. It is only empty if you do not keep your promise to pray. When our area was effected by Hurricane Harvey, people were encouraged by a visit from the President. The truth was, even the President was limited in how much his position allowed him to help. When we pray for someone, we are talking to our God who spoke everything into existence. There is nothing beyond His ability. He can comfort hearts like no other.

Psalm 34:18 ESV The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Psalm 147:3 ESV /He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV / Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Isaiah 57:15 ESV / For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

The comfort that God gives reaches into the depths of our heart and soul. He , who calmed the storms can calm the storms in our hearts. God will bring peace into hearts that Satan can not touch. You may need a special touch from God today. Maybe you need peace to overcome the storms of your life. Call on God. He is never to busy to hear your prayers. It may take swallowing your pride, but what good is pride, if you are miserable.

Today as we pray for that Church Family, let us pray that God will search our hearts and make us clean of all sins. Pray that God will guide you and protect you. There is nothing that is going to happen to you, that will take God by surprised. We can put all of our trust in God without fear.

Betty

Good Afternoon and Blessed Sunday,

Another Church Shooting,

A shooting during a Church Service, should break the heart of every Christian. Church is our time to praise our Savior and be refreshed by the Word of God. If we are honest, a Church shooting chills us to the bone. How can we have our mind on God, if we jump at every sound? We remind ourselves that God is with us in our present bodies and He will be with us in death. When this shooter walked into the Church, God did not go back to Heaven and leave His people. He was there to Welcome the souls that died into Heaven’s gate and He is there with the wounded to comfort and heal them. Why did some die and some live? This is a question we will not know the answer to, till we get to Heaven. Fear not my friends! God is still in control. When it is our time to die God will be with us till we take our last breath and until He welcomes us into Heaven.

What should the Church do now? We pray for that Little Church in South Texas. Pastors around that area should offer comfort and aid to this Church. We remind ourselves that one day, we will pass from this life into Heaven. Yes, we cry for this Church Family, our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Then we press on for the cause of Christ. We work for the Glory of God’s Kingdom. We lay our pain and fears at Jesus’ feet and we press on. This should remind us that evil is abounding, but we know the ending of earth’s story. Jesus will win and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords on this planet.

November 4, 2017,

When I wake up, each day I walk outside and feed the squirrels and birds. As I walk around the yard, I pray that God will give me the words to say. Sometimes He will bring a scripture to my mind, or an event that has happened to me personally. Today,I have a brain with blank spaces and jumbled thoughts.

Times like this when our minds seem overwhelm or underwhelm. We can go to God and share with Him our concerns. As we pray to God, we will feel a peace that fills our heart and mind. A song of praise might enter our brain and if we sing praises to God, we began to relax in His presence.
The Bible says that when we do not know what we should pray for, the Holy Spirit will intervene for us.

Romans 8:26King James Version (KJV)26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

What a wonderful God we serve! He doesn’t tell us to come back, when we can make our petitions understandable. No! The Spirit of God will intercede for us. How blessed we are to be a Child of God! We can always come to God. Because He loves us, He listens and provides answers for us. We come to Go in our distress and our needs. Let us also come to God with our praises and thankfulness. Rejoice in the Lord and then spread this joy to others.

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday,

A Man After God’s Own Heart,

Acts 13:22King James Version (KJV)22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

David was what would have been considered runt of the litter. The youngest child. He was given the lowly job of the family, tending the sheep. Shepherds were looked down on in those days. If there was going to be a family discussion on a major family problem, chances are no one brought David into the meeting. His opinion did not carry much weight in the family. When Samuel came to evaluate Jessie’s kids to see which one merited being King. David was not brought in. After Samuel looked at every kid, and God rejected each one Samuel questioned whether there was another Son. Jessie’s admitted but had dismissed him as the shepherd boy.

Samuel looked at the strong and handsome brothers. God looked into the heart and it was David’s heart that pleased God. David was not perfect, he sinned, but when he sinned, he went to God for forgiveness. God can do His work better through an imperfect person who is willing, then a highly intelligent person who demands their own way. Have you ever met someone who is so arrogant that they would prefer to die then admit that they had faults? The world looks at a person like that and sees a self made man with the world at their feet. God sees the heart and sees an arrogant heart, who denies the work God has done in their life and instead takes all the credit.

Unless a person humbles them self before God and admits they are a sinner, they cannot be saved. Arrogant and stiff-necked people are hard to reach for Christ. They do not see their need of a Savior.

Rejoice in your salvation and be thankful for the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. Lay down self pride and only boast in the goodness of God.

Colossians 3:12Good News Translation (GNT)
12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

The Cost of Pride

Proverbs 16:18King James Version (KJV)18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

We were watching the World Series, Tuesday night, because we are Astro fans. After the game, the Coach for the Dodgers, told the reporter that they had the World Series wrapped up, by the way the Astros played that night. Immediately, I told my husband that he had just messed himself up, big time.

In 47 years of marriage, we have learned the hard way, that Proverbs 16:18, is indeed true. When we think that we are in control and everything is coming up roses in our life, God has a way of allowing us to see the thorns and thistles in our lives. Pride is a thorn that can grow below the surface, unobserved by us, for a long time. Then this ugly thorn pops up and we have a quick reality check. We find out that we are not as great as we thought we were. We find out that God has been helping us along while we boasted in our selves.

I love America, but she is in the verge of implosion. From Her very beginning America realized that Her birth was a gift of God. God watched over America and nurtured Her. Then in the 60’s, American voted to take God out of School and to make killing unborn babies, legal. I believe September 11th, was a wake up call. This was our chance to turn back to God and follow His Ways. Unfortunately, America was too proud. Instead of crying to God, confessing our sins as a Nation, and turning from our sins, we grew boastful. I believe it was President Bush who read these verses before Congress.

Isaiah 9:8-11King James Version (KJV)
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
11 Therefore the Lord shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;

This was read out of pride and just as God was upset with Israel at the time this Scripture was penned, God was not happy with our President. He thought he was talking to the enemy when he spoke of us building up stronger and better, but it was a slap in the face of God. Instead of our Country asking God to help us, we decided we could rebuild on our own and build stronger then ever. Since that time, as a Country we have lost the respect of our allies. We have weaken as a Country because of our pride and love of sin.

The proof of loving sin is, men and women taking pride in abortion. There was a time that women did not talk about having an abortion. Now celebrities brag about how many abortions they have had. Women who are celebrities and not, wearing T-Shirts, that have written on them about their pride in abortion. Women wearing hats and costumes, in public, that bring shame to themselves. The Women’s voice has become stronger in my generation. This could have been a good thing, if we had led our families back to God and taught our children to flee sin. Instead it seems many women are so full of pride that they do not want instruction from God .. Men have given up their place as head of the family, and following women into sinful lives.

Romans 12:
Serve God with Spiritual Gifts
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in ourministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

We should still pray for our Country. Pray that She will turn back to God. Pray daily that God will remove any self pride from our heart. Remember it is God who gives us our talents and pray that He will help us to use them for His Glory.

Betty

Reba Macintyre has a new song called “Back To God”. Also I admit I prayed last night the Astros would win. I am happy that we won.

Good Afternoon and Happy Wednesday,

Fears

Matthew 24:

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

We are living in this age, my friend and have been for awhile. Iran has been a thorn in the side of the world for years and North Koran is getting more bold then ever. We know all it would take, is for one person to push the button and send this world into World War III. Many people are fearful and we can all understand this. If we know Jesus and we trust Him, we can lay aside fear and pick up trust. We know that the world will not be destroyed for at least 1007 years. After the rapture there will be 7 year tribulation. The Second Coming will usher in 1000 year reign by Christ Himself. Yet, if something happens and causes our demise, we would go be with Jesus, immediately.

Paul said:
Philippians 1:20-21King James Version (KJV)20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

So see, my dear friends, we can lay our fears at Jesus and have complete trust in God. This world may look like it is off its track and it is, but God is in control. Why is God allowing these things to happen? God is allowing the devil his period to rule the world. The world as a whole, including, America, has turned from God. The tribulation will be a time of judgement for this world. This is why God is sending Jesus soon for His Bride (the Church). Sadly the Church is not everyone who attends Church or is a member of a Church. The true Church is those who who have trusted and serve Jesus as the God of their life. We must make up our mind to serve God completely. This is not the time to be a “Christian” on Sunday and live for the devil all week.

Matthew 7:21-23New King James Version (NKJV)
I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Sadly there will be those left behind who looked like Christians but were not. There will also be those who preach the Word, but do not believe the Word. Already we see preachers who preach from the pulpit that what God declares sin is not sin. Preachers who preach there is no hell, may sadly end up there. This is not the time to be a fake Christian. This is not the time to care more about what your friends think of you, then God.

2 Cor. 6:

Be Holy
11 O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. 13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[b]are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”[c]
17 Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”[d]
18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”[e]

My words are harsh and trust me they often hurt my own feelings, yet this is not the time to coddle those who want to live in two world. You can’t be a Christian only on certain days. I like that song “Walking in Memphis”. I don’t know if it is the words are the beat. There is a line “Sir, are you a Christian? he says “M’am I am tonight”. As soon as I heard those words yesterday, it came to me that you are either a Christian or you are not. There is NO being a Christian at Church and being a sinner at work. Judgement is coming soon. We are in a war. We must declare whether we are going to be a Christian or serve the devil.

Joshua 24:15New King James Version (NKJV)
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

We can trust God with our present and our future. What ever happens, we will be Christ. He is with us in life and death.

Betty

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

Be Ye Thankful

1 Thessalonians 5:18New King James Version (NKJV)18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Tonight children will be going door to door dressed in costumes. Not only will you see a variety of costumes, but a variety of attitudes. Some children will thank you and others will only grumble a thank you, if prodded by a parent. It is easy as adults to complain about ungrateful kids, but are we always grateful adults. When someone does something nice for us to we thank them and honestly appreciate their efforts? Are we thankful to God for His many mercies? Do we forget the past things God has done in our lives and question whether God is doing ‘enough’ for us now? Do we have a bad attitude towards God?

Respecting and honoring God, is praising Him before we ask for stuff. Of course there are times we need jump in with our request. If you were to see a car coming around the corner and children playing in the street, you would cry out to God to save them. This would indeed be appropriate. In our daily prayers, though we should start out with praise and thanksgiving. We thank God even if we are going through trials. Today’s present trials does not do away with all the wonderful work God has done in our lives. Even in our trials , God is with us. We praise God for giving us the faith and trust we need to endear the struggles in our lives.

Colossians 3:15“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”

A thankful heart brings peace into our hearts and lives. A thankful person is a joy to be around. An ungrateful and self centered person can drag you down with their poor attitude. Of course there are times that we are down and we need encouragement from loved ones and friends, but we don’t want to make a home in pity valley. Let us also be an encouragement to others.

Colossians 3:17King James Version (KJV)17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Be thankful people. Be thankful to God and to others. Appreciate what you have and do not envy others. When we live like this we can be at peace with God and man.

Betty

Yesterday evening I had a mama and baby squirrel eating in my back yard. Made me happy.

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

Guide Me O’God In Thy Pathway

Psalm 32:8King James Version (KJV)8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Do you every worry that you have wandered from the path, that God wants you on? I have. I think we all at one time wonder if we are on the right path. There are also times that we fear that God has mistakenly put us on the wrong path. After all, God could not possibly want us to be suffering so much!

Yet, we can be assured that God has not forgotten where we are or put us on the wrong path. We pray for guidance from God and we trust Him to guide us. If we have go off the path of God’s will, the Holy Spirit will convict us. When we are on a path that is frightening and painful, seek help from God. Do not allow pride to keep you from seeking help from God. Remember, God is not giving out awards for those “who do everything on their own”.

This should be a prayer we say daily:

Psalm 139:23-24King James Version (KJV)23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
If we keep our trust in God and pray for guidance, He will keep us on the right path. There are many Scriptures in the Bible about guidance from God.

Psalm 25:4-5
Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.
God wants to guide us. He wants to lead us in His ways. His ways are truth and sure. His ways will keep us from falling into pits of sins. His ways will protect us from false teaching. We do not always understand the path we are on and there are many questions that come up in our lives that we need answers. God has given us the answer to this:

James 1:5

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

We can go to God for answers. As the verse says, He will not belittle us for our lack of knowledge.
God wants to teach us His ways. We just need a willing heart open to God. There is no shame or reproach when we come to God and open up to Him about our concerns, fears and confusion.
Shame is not lack of knowledge. Shame is being to prideful to seek help from God.

Psalms 19:8
“The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.”

God is not going to tell you every thing in advance. Growing in the Lord, requires trust. We must trust that the paths He puts on is for a purpose and for the Glory of the Kingdom of God. We remind ourselves that our suffering is for a short time and eternity is forever.

Psalms 73:28 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

Psalms 115:11 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

Psalms 40:3 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Psalms 64:10 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Nahum 1:7 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Psalms 40:4 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Our trust, our hope, our present, our future is safely in the hands of the Almighty God. Turn your fears and concerns over to our Heavenly Father and walk in peace and trust. If we stumble He will guide us, if we fall, He will pick us up and if we stray, He will guide us back to the right path. Walk daily with Jesus with hope and trust and a song of praise on your lips.

Maranatha,
Betty

Good Afternoon and Blessed Sunday,

An series of errors, made me miss Church today. I thought this was the week of the time change. I set the alarm wrong. Then I fell asleep to wake up in a Colitis flare. I meant well but did not accomplish my intent. Have you noticed that sometimes when you are intending to study God’s Word, the devil plays havoc with your intentions? The phone rings. If you have little ones that fuss and fight with each other. Your pets make a mess or knock something down and make a mess or even break something. It seems that everything is against you studying God’s Word.

The devil is against us going to God’s Word. He will bring distractions. He will even start a fuss to keep you from studying God’s Word. Even when you do study, there are times you are reading and your mind will slip off to something else. Yesterday, when Ronnie and I read the Bible together. It seemed like everything went wrong. The program we used on His computer shut down three times. He got a hard copy of the Bible and then went to the wrong Book in the Bible. He remarked God was tempting him not to read the Bible. I reminded Hubby that God does not tempt us. The devil is the one that tempts us.

There will be times that you have to put off studying God’s Word till later in the day. When you are studying and you mind starts wondering about something else, stop and pray. Pray that God will help you stay focused. The devil fights us so much to prevent us from studying God’s Word because it is so important.

The Word of God provides us with the equipment to stay on the right path. The Word of God equips us to fight temptations. The Word of God prevents from being led astray by false prophets. Always remember a Pastor or teacher who is preaching the truth will encourage you to verify what they say with the Bible. If anyone says God told them personally something different from God’s Word- run from that person. God never changes. He did not give us His Word, to only give a different Gospel today.

Galatians 1:6-12King James Version (KJV)
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

We will not always accomplish what we intend. God knows us and He understands when we make mistakes. When we fall, we get up, dust ourselves off, and continue you to live for God. Pray for courage to speak the Word in season and out of season. The truth is not welcomed as much as it used to be. Pray that God will keep you strong, give you faith and courage. Press on to the finish line, my dear friends.

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

The cold font that came in to Houston, is a blessing. The air smells fresh and clean. A simple thing like a change in the weather can lift our spirits. Another good way to lift your spirit when you feel down is to sing praises to God.

Psalm 22:3King James Version (KJV)3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel

Although that promise was written for Israel, there is no reason why we can’t believe that God inhabits the praise of Christians. I don’t think God even cares if we get the words wrong, when our praise for Him comes from our heart. A little old lady who sings from the heart is more precious to God then those who sing out of obligation. God forbid, that we pray or sing out of obligation. Let us always seek to praise God out of our love for Him.

If you are over burden or you heart is filled with sadness and praise at that moment does not feel real-PRAY. Seek comfort, seek compassion, seek joy from God. Be honest with God tell Him respectfully how you feel. If you are mad at God tell Him. He can take it and then pray that God will forgive you and have compassion on you. Remember God is the one person we can talk about anything with.

2 Samuel 22:7King James Version (KJV)7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

Psalm 4:1King James Version (KJV)4 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

We can go to God with all our feelings. When we are angry, hurt, scared, or sad. He will never tell us to come back when we are in a better mood. No! He calls us to come to Him and be blessed.
People can change. They can be our best friend today and the next day that have moved on to a new friend who meets their new plans and desires. God is faithful. We can always depend on God.
Seek His face every day and trust in Him more and more.

May it not be long, I pray that Jesus comes for His own and we can see Him face to face.
Betty

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday,

Watching the news, we can get the impression that there is no good people in the world, yet Hubby and I heard a story that warmed our hearts on the news. A elderly man’s electric scooter was ruined during Hurricane Harvey. The man has been restricted to his home and Red Cross refused to help him. When this story aired a lady and Son donated their husband and father’s electric cart to this man. Their husband and father had passed recently. As most who seen the second news segment, we were blessed to hear people still care.

It is not uncommon for God’s people to feel that we are in the minority and the world has gone to hell in a hand basket. Elijah was used by God to preform wonders and miracles. Yet, Elijah had a lapse in His faith.

1 Kings 19:14-18King James Version (KJV)
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
15 And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

Elijah did not know the seven thousand faithful people, but God did. There are many Christians today who work behind the scenes for the Kingdom of God. We may not know them, but God does. He sees the deeds we do for Him and our sacrifice is not lost on Him. We may feel the little bit we donate to orphans and widows is too small to have any effect. God takes every donation and adds them up to feed the hungry and clothe those in need. When we give to God out of a cheerful heart, we bless not only others but ourselves.

God’s work is still going on today. Evil gets the media’s attention for the most part, but work done for God has value that will last eternity. There is so many needs and your mail box may be like mine filled with request for donations. I have to donate to different ones every month because there are too many request to do each one every month. I say this not to brag about my little bit that is donated, but to say every bit given in the Name of Jesus will be blessed and God will help each little bit to multiply for His Glory.

Don’t lose heart my brother and sister in the Lord, when the news fills you with fear and dread. Instead go to God and seek His refreshing grace and love to shower down on you and revise your spirit. Let us pray that we can bless others every day, even if it is just a smile or a hug. God is good! His light will shine for ever and no evil nor Satan can dim the light of our Heavenly Father.
Betty

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

I have a navigation system on my car. It is a must for me. I can barely read a map and my sense of direction is nil. My favorite thing of the system is no matter how lost I get, I can push the button that says home and it will lead me home. The Holy Bible is our navigation system. Many times when we lose our way spiritually, it is because we have neglected reading the Bible.

My car is older so the navigation system does not recognize new roads. On the other hand, the Bible is always relevant . It’s truths are the same yesterday, today, and forever. It will not change nor does it need to change.. I read about a popular singer who said that she used to like Jesus, but she doesn’t consider Him relevant to today’s world. She went on to say if Jesus wanted to impress the youth of the day, He would repent of His belief that homosexuality is a sin. She wants Jesus to embrace the beliefs of today.

The Bible says God made man in His image. Many people today want to remake God in their own image. They want a God who changes His beliefs to fit the times. How could we trust a God, whose belief system was determined by mankind? Man was born in sin and we are not Holy. Why would a Holy God want to lay aside His righteousness and put on a coat made my mankind, sewed with the threads of sin. A God who crawled into the pit of sin, would not be able to save sinners. A God who embraced sin could not cure mankind of his sinful nature.

Sadly people like this young lady do not embrace God’s Holy Word. They refuse to read the only book that can show them the say to salvation. Seeking not the truth they embrace teachings that lead people to hell.

2 Timothy 4:1-5King James Version (KJV)
4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

When we refuse to listen to sound Gospel and listen only to those who tickle our ears, we are missing out on the truth of the Gospel. If we begin to allow Preachers and teachers to preach to us a different Gospel then taught in God’s Holy Word, we are endanger of losing our way. We take the risk of becoming backslidden.

In these last days do not open your heart to false teaching nor stray from the truth of the Gospel.
The ticket into Heaven’s gate is given only to those who accept salvation through Jesus Christ. This is not a popular believe today. People want to believe we all worship the same God and that there are many roads to Heaven. This belief that many embrace is saying that Jesus died for nothing. That His sacrifice was offered up by a man who meant well but was confused. Jesus is God. He is not capable of being confused. His precious sacrifice is the ONLY WAY to Heaven.

John 10:1King James Version (KJV)
10 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

John 14:6King James Version (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

These verses teach us the truth that Jesus is the only way to Heaven.

Good Afternoon and Happy Wednesday,

“THE HOLY SPIRIT”

My thoughts today are not to argue the Trinity, although I believe in the Trinity. I am thinking about how Jesus and the Holy Spirit have existed forever just as God has. They are all apart of the Godhead and have always existed. This is hard for our feeble minds to grasp. We have a beginning and we have an end, but because of Christ’s sacrifice we will not end. Only our corruptible body will die. Our souls will either go to Heaven or hades.

Genesis 1:26King James Version (KJV)26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit is the least understood. Yet without the Holy Spirit, we would not get saved. The Holy Spirit is the person who convicts us of our sin. The Holy Spirit makes known to us our need of a Savior and then leads us to Christ. The Holy Spirit does not promote Himself but only speaks of Jesus.

John 16:13King James Version (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Holy Spirit plays a major part in our second birth of salvation.

John 3:5King James Version (KJV)5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Though it was rare, God did fill people in the Old Testament with His Holy Spirit:

Exodus 31:1-3King James Version (KJV)And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

Jesus instructed the disciples to wait to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:1-9King James Version (KJV)
1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Jesus knew that the Disciples would need the infilling of the Holy Spirit to give the, courage and power to speak the Gospel, knowing that they would die for the cause of Christ.

Acts 2:4King James Version (KJV)4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Holy seals our souls to the day of redemption, when we enter the Gates of Heaven.

Ephesians 1:9-14King James Version (KJV)9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom als0 after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory

The Holy Spirit brings us into the understanding of our need of salvation. The Holy Spirit bears witness of our conversion. The Holy Spirit keeps us until the day of our redemption. The Holy Spirit will change us from our corruptible bodies to our glorified bodies.

Romans 8:1-18King James Version (KJV)
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty

The United Methodist Hymnal Number 064
Text: Reginald Heber
Music: John B. Dykes
Tune: NICAEA, Meter: 11 12.12 10
1. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

2. Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

3. Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.

4. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity

Good Afternoon and Tuesday,

We live in a world with more stuff then any generation. More technology and more toys for adults then ever before. What this world lacks is hope. Fears of wars, local violence, financial loss and disease, are all taking their toll on people’s emotions. Christians are not immune to these fears.
These fears are rational. We live in a world where a crazy dictator could push a button and send us into World War III. What is a Christian to do? We go to the Bible for guidance.

2 Timothy 1:7King James Version (KJV)7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
We remind ourselves that this presence of fear does not come from God, but the devil. Yes our fears are rational, but God is in control. He hears the prayers of His children.

Psalm 34:17-20King James Version (KJV)17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

The Lord hears our prayers and concerns. We go to God for comfort and His assistance.

Philippians 4:6-7King James Version (KJV)6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

When you are overwhelmed by fears and concerns, do not pretend that you do not feel these emotions. Pretending to be strong does not make you strong. Take your needs to the God of Heaven. Sometimes God brings an answer immediately. Other times, God wants us to spend some quality time with Him, before the answer comes.

Isaiah 40:31King James Version (KJV)31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Time spent talking and resting in God is never wasted time. We become refreshed and filled with new hope when we spend quality time with God. Compared to eternity with God, Life is just a vapor that disappears in the wind. Admit your need of God and make your needs known to Him. Praise Him for His mercy and rejoice in God’s love for you.

In hopeless times, we find our hope in the arms of Almighty God. When fears over whelm us we take our fears and concerns to God.

Betty

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

There is a cool front coming in this week. The sticky hot weather will be replaced with cool, dry weather. When this happens, the air is so inviting and pleasant. It makes me think of the soon coming rapture. I can almost feel the air rustle as God prepares to send Jesus for His Bride. Though the world we live is chaotic at best, we can still feel hope in the air, as we remind ourselves, that Jesus is coming soon.

The world is becoming more and more sinful. People are more angry and filled with bitterness. Many do not even try to hide their hatred for conservatives, the President, and Christians. We stand against the evil that they embrace. No longer is sin committed, just in the dark hours where their actions can be hidden from the general public. No sin is committed on the streets in the middle of the day. People are no longer ashamed of their sins. Oh a few fake shame when they get caught, but many sins are done with pride.

A read an article that talked about how painful abortion is emotionally and yet you see women with t-shirts that brag about their abortions. I read about a comedian who bragged that she has had 25 babies aborted. I never thought I would live in a day when someone could take pride in killing 25 innocent babies. Can you imagine the out rage there would be if she had said that she had killed 25 kittens? Don’t get me wrong I love animals and killing them would be horrible. Yet, I cannot understand how in our world today, killing unborn babies is not only considered acceptable, but the women who choose to do so, are considered brave.

Some people wonder why America is coming under judgement from God. We have gone against the truths of God’s Word and embraced actions that only the devil should admire. Normal people should hate the very act of killing the unborn children, but they herald the act of murder as an act to make this world a better place. May God have mercy on lost souls.

Souls reject the God who died for them and embrace Satan. Satan doesn’t love mankind. He just wants more souls to steal from God-from Heaven-to-Hell. People have covered their conscious with steel so they do have to feel conviction. They have rejected God for so long that they no longer feel shame for their sinful acts. They no linger feel compassion for one another. A British actress bragged about how she would like to see euthanasia vans going around the world putting down old people, like we do very sick dogs.

Human lives have no value to the lost, whether it be the unborn babies or old people. Killing is just another way to help Global Warming. God is growing more and more angry at the evil that is running amuck all over the world. He is soon going to take the Church to Heaven and pour down his wrath on a cold evil sinful world. Now is the time to accept Jesus as your Savior, so that you can escape the wrath to come .

Luke 21:36King James Version (KJV)36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Let us as children of God press onward to the prize of Heaven.

Good Afternoon and Blessed Sunday,

Lying in bed, my pain level at least 8. I am reminded of the song that says: “If I could just sit with you awhile, I need you to hold me”. The pain of our physical bodies, can cause us to crawl back into bed and want to hide. Physical illness can limit what she can do and even lead us to tears.

Yet there is a sickness that is worse then physical. Jesus said:

Matthew 10:28King James Version (KJV)28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Sadly, we can be blinded to our own spiritual issues. We are quick to see mistakes, sins and spiritual failures in others but do not see our own.

Matthew 7:3-5King James Version (KJV)3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Luke 6:42King James Version (KJV)42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

This doesn’t mean we never counsel anyone. It means we ask God to search your heart for your own sins and repent before you counsel someone. Even then, you should spend much time in prayer before addressing someone else’s sin issues. Helping another person should always be done in love. If we can not see another person with the eyes of Christ, we may need to pray that God will send some one spiritually equipped with wisdom and love to help that person.

Never EVER take pleasure in another’s sin problems. Even if that person has hurt us in the past, it does not give us the liberty to take pleasure in their situation. If we feel joy when someone who has hurt us falls in the pit, then we have a forgiveness problem. We should pray and ask God to forgive us for holding a grudge. As children of God we should feel pain when another is suffering. We would not want God to say to us “You deserve what is happening to you, because of your sins”. We want God to forgive us and comfort us. Let us seek to do the same, for others.

The devil is seeking to destroy people. As God’s children let us remember to pray for one another, daily.

Betty

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

I am a thinker, even as a child. I don’t mean I am smart, but I always went over things in my head, analyzing them. I am also a bit of a worrier. So it is not unusual for me to worry about whether someone is upset at me. If I am not careful I can analyze something into I am all tied up like a ball of twine. This morning I asked God why do I keep sinning in that area? Why can’t I get victory over that?

It seems that God could just take out our areas of temptations or cure us of that temptations. God wants us to work on the area we have issues with. The more we work and seek God’s guidance, the stronger our faith and trust in God grows. Getting strong physically takes strength and body building exercise. The more we exercise our faith and truth, the stronger they both become.

We win victory offer a particular sin , each time we do not give in. We must remember the closer we get to they return or Jesus, the nastier the devil is going to fight us, BUT remember God is with us and when we do sin, do not make excuses. Ask God for forgiveness. The more we seek God for help, the closer we draw to God.

We need to stay close to God, especially in these days,

Betty

Good Morning and Happy Friday,

Our Pastor was teasing us Sunday, that the Church bumper sticker on his car has made him a better driver. I have to admit the same, about myself. I do not like it when people cut me off just to get one car link, ahead of me. I really hate it when they go around me and then slow down, forcing me to hit my brake and then to worry if the car behind me, will be able to stop.

One evening, I was driving from the grocery store when a car was determined to get around me. In my anger, I refused to let him in front of me, so he had to go back behind me. Imagine my surprise, when he turned behind me, in my little neighborhood. At that time, I did not have a Church bumper sticker but I did have a Christian radio station bumper sticker.

Needless to say God convicted me of my bad behavior. I knew that I was a very bad example of a Christian. Before I got out of the car, I prayed for forgiveness. I can not say I have turned into a perfect driver, but I have been more conscious of other drivers and their needs. I do my best to leave the entrance to restaurants and fast food places open so people can get in or out. In heavy traffic, if I can I motion for someone to come out in front of me, I do.

A surprising thing has happened since I started trying to be more considerate when I drive. I am feeling less stress. I can not say I have become a perfect driver. It still upsets me when someone cuts me off, but I am trying with God’s help not to spend the next ten minutes yelling at drivers. It doesn’t matter that they cannot hear me. When I lose my temper, not only does Ronnie have to deal with it but so does God.

Being considerate when we drive, is showing God’s love. Especially when we have bumper stickers that allow others know we are Christians. We should pray every time we get in our cars, not only for protection but that God will help us be an example of a kind and loving person behind the wheel. This is not a one time fix. We have to work on this every time we drive, but God will help us, if we ask Him.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

If Sunday Morning, the Pastors were to ask the Congregation, to raise their hand if they lived their lives under the Biblical Principal of :

“GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES”

How many of us would raise our hands? Sadly it would be an embarrassing number. Why embarrassing? That is not a Biblical Principal. I must admit a few years ago, my hand would have been raised. That saying sounds correct and sounds even good, but it is like saying: “God came to save those good enough to almost be saved”. The truth is those who live good lives are often hard to be reached with the Gospel, because they think that they have it made.

God came to save the sinners, the hopeless, and the lost. When we live by the Principal above, our attitude is: “God, I got this, but if I run into a problem, I will let you know”. God says for us to come to Him first and not wait until the water is over our head.

James 4:2New International Version (NIV)2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

We often struggle and fight our way through our days, because we neglected to go to God in prayer before we begin the day. So often, we go to God as a last result. If there is a two person job and your mate is in the house and you struggle until your hands are raw and you are covered with sweat before asking your mate to help you, then you are not utilizing your resources. Go first and ask your mate to help. If he says no, then do not do the chore. Let it go undone until he helps you or ask someone else to help.

In the same way, begin your day praising God and then ask Him to be with you throughout the day. Unlike our mates who sometimes can be a little contrary, God always wants to help us.

Matthew 7:
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

There is not going to be a crown given for stubbornness or self sufficient. God rewards those who come to Him in faith, expecting an answer. Our goal as Christians, should be to become more and more dependent on God. Contrary to the laws of mankind, this does not make us weak Christians. The more we trust and depend on God, the stronger our spiritual health, becomes.

2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

2 Corinthians 12:10 “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

God is not in the business of helping those who think they are beyond needed help. He helps those who humble themselves and cry out to God for help. Call out to God Daily and never feel ashamed of needing God. Remember God came to save us and to keep us living on the righteous path. He takes joy in His children who admit their need of Him.

When we become so prideful that we refuse to admit to God we need help we are indeed in trouble.

Proverbs 16:18King James Version (KJV)18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Seek the face of God every day in prayer. Learn depend upon Him to keep you walking in faith.

Betty

I need to clarify, I was not thinking of my Hubby when I wrote about unhelpful mates. Since my health has gotten worse, my Hubby does the vacuuming and does a good portion of the laundry. When I ask for help, he helps me.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

Awake and hurting, but hope to sleep later. As I lied in bed this morning, I was thinking of David’s Prayer:

Psalm 139:23-24King James Version (KJV)23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

There has never been a better time in History for us to ask God Daily, to search our hearts. This is the time to seek our hidden sin in our lives and seek forgiveness. Now is the time to make sure we are right with God. Ask God to check your motivations, also. . Are we working to please God or mankind? Remember pleasing mankind is only for a short while. Men may pleased today and turn on us tomorrow. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Pleasing God last for eternity. Pleasing mankind is fleeting as the leaves that fall off the trees in the fall.

Today is the day to seek forgiveness and positive change in our lives. When we leave this world it is too late to seek forgives of sin. It is too late to seek to work for God, after we are gone from this world.

As always work with a cheerful and grateful heart. Be blessed.

John 9:4King James Version (KJV)4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

As we wait for the blessed hope, let us not become complacent. Let us not forget the cause before us. Let us never forget to pray for selves, families, friend and the unsaved around the world.

Rejoice knowing through the guidance of the Holy Sprit we can work willing for the kingdom of God.

Good Afternoon and Happy Tuesday,

What God gives us to bear, He equips us to bear. Hubby asked the other day, why did God allow me to have 4 conditions that there is no cure and ironically all 4 has the symptoms of pain and exhaustion. My flip answer was “God knew I was strong enough to bear it”. The truth is God gives me the strength to bear it. This does not mean that there are no days that I cry from all the pain nor that the exhaustion is not overwhelming. Some days the pain is too strong for pain medication to do anything but make a dent in the pain, but as I rest in Jesus, He calms my spirit and encourages me.

As I look back on the last couple of years and the things I have written about, I marvel that I was able to allow self to stand aside and allow God to speak through me. There were times, that God led me to speak things that I knew would hurt feelings of others. All the time, I feel so unworthy to speak for God. Yet it is through my physical and emotional struggles that I have been given the strength to speak God’s truth and lay aside the fears that I could be upsetting people that I care about.

My physical pain and struggles have led me to grow closer to Jesus. When we walk close to Him, we can say what He calls us to say and He gives us the strength to bear the consequences.
The road God has taken me on, I would have not chosen and yet this road has led to spiritual victories. We can go much further then we have ever dreamed, if we are willing to say yes, Lord.

We are living in the last days and the devil is working hard to divide not only our Country but fellow believers. Christians can be divided over politics, personal freedoms, and even Bible truths.
The soon coming rapture is a big divider among the brethren. Instead of rejoicing in the soon return of Jesus for His Bride, some sadly will spend more time debating against those who believe in the rapture them spreading the Gospel. They have allowed the devil to side track them, in their Mission for Christ. The rapture should unite us in faith and hope. Sadly those who do not believe in the rapture or the pre-trib rapture have allowed anger to over come them. It breaks my heart that so many are hurting the cause of Christ instead of uniting together with fellow Christians in love for God and one another.

Let us pray for unity among God’s children and the ability to work together to spread the Gospel before the age of Grace has come to an end.
Betty

Last evening we went to the store. There were hundreds of birds on the roof of the store. Such a wonderful gem of joy for me.

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

The walk outside was pleasant this morning. A nice cool breeze and I found the pine cone I had fixed up for the squirrel was gone. It is always good to see your time and effort was appreciated. We can know without a doubt that our work for God, does not go unnoticed by Him.

Mark 9:41King James Version (KJV)41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
We do not always see the outcome, of our work. Some work brings results immediately, some work takes months and years. It may take years for the seed of the Gospel you plant in someone’s heart to produce visible growth. We spread the seed and leave the results in God’s hands. Of course there may be those seeds that never take root. Jesus talked about that in the Sermon about planting seeds. There are some that will never change. Why does God have us spread seed in hard soil? Could it be that when that person faces judgment and they challenge Jesus that had never been told the truth, God can bring up the times that Christians try to plant the truth in their life and they resisted the truth? Sadly there are some who are so hard hearted to the truth, that they are willing to rip out the bud of truth, with their own hands.

My dear friends, there also those wondrous times that the seeds we spread, grows into beautiful flowers and trees, that stand firm for the truth of the Gospel and go out to spread new seeds over new hearts. We can rejoice knowing not only have we reached that soul for Christ, but that soul goes on to share the Gospel with many. What a joy it is to be a part of the Gospel spreading across the world. Even our tithes and offerings are being used to spread the Gospel, by our Heavenly Father. What a glorious gift it is to be apart of the spreading of the Gospel, worldwide!

Rejoice my friends, for even in the dark world we live in, thousands of souls around the world are finding salvation in Jesus. Pray for those who live in areas that people are risking prison and even death to follow Jesus. One day you will see those souls who found salvation because of your willingness to offer up your financial gift for the Gospel to spread around the world. Remember the song that says: “Thank you for giving to the Lord, I was a soul that was saved!”.

The devil will try to convince you that there is nothing you can do. God says in His hands our gifts of money, time, and prayer multiply. Keeping sowing seeds until Jesus calls us Home.
Betty

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

I had a silly, Happy ever after dream right before I woke up. I went a step further and thanked God for the dream, because even though it was silly, it made me wake up happy. Although I often write about how more important the joy of the Lord is, then happiness. It is also good to have a moment of just silly happiness that makes us wake up singing.

Happiness is not in material things. It is birds singing, pretty flowers and watching nature at her best. Of course we should seek to have the joy of the Lord, in our hearts, but it is also good to look for diamonds of joy and happiness through out the day. Do not allow the cares of this world to blind you to the good that is still in the world.

Spread diamonds of happiness and hope to all you come in contact with today. There is always something sweet you can say to people. Even if it is I like your boots or you blouse is pretty. Perk up someone’s day with kindness. When we share joy and kindness we will reap joy and kindness. Let us as Christians, be not so easy to snap at people or be rude. Let us strife to be patient and kind.

Let others see Jesus in us. Some of us, including me, have to make a special effort when I am behind the wheel. I have a Christian radio and my Church bumper stickers on my car. It would be ashamed for me to allow road rage destroy my testimony. Let us try not to turn into monsters behind the wheel.

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday,

Every day it seems there is a new scandal. This newest one is a director who used his position to attain sexual favors and if the rumors are true, he may have not taken no for an answer.
Sadly, this is nothing new. The “casting couch” had been talked about for decades. Some men in positions of power, use their position to obtain sexual favors. It is easy for us to look at these women as immoral, but predators know their victims. They know who has no self esteem and who the promise of fame and fortune can be persuaded to prostitute themselves for it. Our heart should break for those who sold themselves for fame and fortune.

When you are young, you do not realize how fleeting fame is. You can be on the front cover of magazines today and tomorrow you are a has been. The man in question is a reprobate. He has given in to sinful desires and thrown away his soul to obtain them.

As Christians we should pity those who have chosen to fulfill pleasure of this life over their own eternity. By the time they realize they have sold themselves for a short time of fame, they have hardened their hearts to the point that they can no longer hear the whispers of they Holy Spirit calling them to repentance. This may be why so many Hollywood people are so angry and hate conservatives so much. When you cannot change yourself, it is easy to hate everyone who stands for good. The devil has convinced them that homosexuality is the normal. That abortion is good for the planet. That what is evil is now good and what was good is now evil. Just like the Bible said it would be in the last days.

Isaiah 5:20King James Version (KJV)20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

As we live for Jesus, let us live in a ways that are pleasing to Him. Let the desires of our hearts be to serve and worship God. Knowing a movie director, personally is nothing compared to being friends of the Almighty God.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

The Winner has Already Been Declared

If a football team where told in advance that they would be losing in the first half but come the Second half they would be victorious, they would be plying the game with victory in their hearts and not depressed.

We look at the world and see evil rising and we can be tempted to walk around defeated. Yet, God has already told us who win the battle between good and evil. We can be guilty of allowing the devil to give us a spirit of defeat.

Rev 19

Christ on a White Horse
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had[e]a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,[f] followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp[g] sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.

God does not leave us to worry and fret about who will win the battle between good and evil. So why do we live with our heads hung down and a Spirit of defeat? We are assured that God will win the final battle. If we are a Christian, we are on the winning side. Yes, there will be little battles that we lose, but the war will be won by Jesus our Savior and Lord. Pray that God will remove the spirit of defeat from your hearts and mind and replace it with Trust in God so that we can fight the little battles, knowing we are on the winning side. If we keep our trust in God, we can win these little battles.

Let us march, with pride, not in ourselves, but pride in our Heavenly Father. March Onward Soldiers, Of the Cross, we can walk in Victory when we put our complete trust in God. Do not become over come by the evil in the world, but keep your eyes on Jesus, your Lord and Savior.
We know the winner of the war so let us rejoice in that fact.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

This morning I woke up chipper, even singing to myself as I fed the birds. I had a bad night with pain and as usual I woke up hurting, but yet God put a song in my heart. It is a special blessing, when despite our circumstances, God puts a song in our hearts. We can trust God despite the circumstances we deal with. The joy that God puts in our hearts, circumstances and people can not steal from us.

Nehemiah 8:10 [Full Chapter]
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

The joy God gives, strengthen our spirit and our bodies. Rejoice in Him and be glad. Seek His face and every day ask Him to provide what you need spiritually and emotionally, to walk with Him, throughout the day.

It is time to worry less about politics and what is happening in the world. The world is getting closer and closer to the anti-Christ setting up his kingdom. Lay our fears and worries at Jesus’ feet. Keep your eyes on Jesus. We will soon be leaving this world. It is time to prepare our hearts and seek spiritual growth. Pray that our souls be over flowing with the Holy Spirit. Pray and ask God to help us be like the wise virgins and ready for the Groom’s appearance.

Live our life so that when Jesus comes for us, He can say “good and faithful servant”. Seek God and know His ways and His truths. When we keep our focus on God and not on this world, we can truly be filled with the joy of the Lord.

John 16:24King James Version (KJV)24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Good Afternoon and Happy Tuesday,

Some people judge art by the artist. The painting can be beautiful, but because it is not considered valuable, it is not worthy to be in their collection. Hubby and I are simple folks and we pick out pictures, not on their value but how the picture appeals to our senses.

When the world looks at Christians, they are liable to see us in a negative light. President Obama said that people in the South “cling to their guns, Bibles, and faith ”. He meant it to be an insult. We took it as a compliment. Clinging to our Bibles and faith is not a weakness. No one will tell a shipwreck victim to jump out of the life boat. Nor would they say they were weak to be in the boat.

Jesus is our life boat from the sea of sin. Yet, He is far more then our lifeboat. He is our friend, our brother, our Savior and through the Holy Spirit, He is our guide. Christians are not to be pitied, we are friends and children of the Most High God. When the world stands before the Throne of God and their names are not written in the Book of Life, they will wish that they had been weak enough to seek God’s face before it was too late. Serving the Lord God is not a weakness but a privilege that God has afforded us. His grace and mercy has saved us from a life with no purpose to a life with eternal value.

Weak! No my friends! Strong enough to admit our sins and come to Jesus to be saved. Pray for those who have allowed their pride to keep them from admitting their need for a Savior. When we boast, we do like Paul. We boast not in ourselves but in Jesus.

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

Well meaning Christians can make comments that they mean well, but can come out condensing or judgmental. Even when someone is trying to help us and mean well, they can stab us with a pin of judgement. There is a lot of things about us that only God knows. That is why we smile and say thank you for caring about us and then allow the comment to fly away. The devil would love to use those times to discourages us or allow bitterness to grow in our hearts. We must remind ourselves that there is no need for anger or bitterness, when someone is actually trying to help us.
What do we do? We forgive and we love one another. We can be assured as humans that we have said things to others, that we meant for good but actually hurt them. This is a good reason to pray each day for God to help us speak in love and with discernment.

We all have limitations. Whether they are physical, emotional, or mental. These limitations may require us to stay no, to doing work at the Church, at times. What do we do? We do what we can do and pray for those who have to take up the slack. Remember some handicaps are not visible, so when someone says they cannot help you, don’t be so quick to judge. Leave the judging to God. He knows everything. Also when a person is disappointed that you cannot help, that doesn’t mean that they are mad at you. Always remember to pray for one another.

Working for God is a blessing that He allows us. We need God but God could do everything without us. He uses us for His glory, because He loves us. When we do work for God, have a cheerful heart. Work done in anger and bitterness brings no glory to God and no reward for us.
There is great joy in working for God’s Kingdom. Our hard work will be rewarded.

Seek daily to grow in the Lord. It is a horrible thing for a Christian to become stagnant and stinky because we have stopped growing. Spiritual growth brings joy and contentment . We may walk through the flood or the fire, but when we come out on the other side our hearts will be filled with the joy of the Lord.

May God bless and keep you and may spiritual growth be present in your life.

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,

Do you ever wake up and feel that you are not up to the challenges of the day? Do you ever feel
that you are not adequate to the challenges that God has put before you? If you are like me, the answer would be a huge yes.

I get up and I look at a blank piece of paper and I have no idea how to find the words to fill the page. When I examine myself, I find myself inadequate and unworthy to speak to to others about God. Of course I could write page after page about my failures but who wants to read that? This would only depress me and you. Yet, God in His great mercy gives me the words. God does not called the qualified, whom He calls He equips for His Will.

Romans 8:30King James Version (KJV)
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

When God calls you for duty, He will provide the necessary tools needed for the job that you are called for. When we are willing, God can use us for His Kingdom. When we give Him a willing heart, He will take us places we never dreamed of going. The biggest battle is being willing and then trusting Him.

When we work for God and leave self out of it, we do not have to worry about critiques. Our Job is to work for God and do His will. Leave your work in God’s hands and allow Him to work through you. When we do our work for God and not for others, we can take corrective criticism, and work harder and ignore those who did not like what you did. If you do your work for God and His Glory, then you can be at peace.

What does God want you to do? How do you find out? Seek His face and then be open to His leading. He has a job for everyone. Even when I have times that I cannot leave the house because of health issues, I can pray for others. Never underestimate the power of prayer. So often we say: “all I can do is pray”. This is the first thing we should do: Pray.

God has done so much for us, the least we can do, is seek a way that we can work for His Kingdom.
We are in the last quarter of the game. The devil would like us to just coast into the finish line. Let us be willing to work for our Lord and Savior. Yes we grow weary and tired, but pray for strength. Pray for a spirit that grieves over lost souls and prays for them. God’s love is enough for us.

Psalm 36:5-10King James Version (KJV)
5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

The devil will seek to get you to question your salvation, doubt God’s love for you, and convince you that God has forsaken you. The devil is a liar.

John 8:44King James Version (KJV)44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Romans 8:38-39King James Version (KJV)38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The devil cannot pull you out of the hands of God. Sleep well knowing that you are secure in the hands of your Heavenly Father.

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

We got up early for us, and went out for breakfast. It is good for your health to do something different occasionally. Getting out and enjoying nature is good for us. There is so many beautiful gifts from God in nature. Sadly many people worship the creation and not the creator. This not new to God. He told us in the Bible that people would do that.

Romans 1:25King James Version (KJV)25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

We should give thanks to God for His many gifts that He created for mankind to enjoy. We can become so harried that we take for granted the beauty of nature. When we do we miss out on so much, by not taking the time to enjoy the beauty around us.

Another thing not to take for granted our family and friends. We are blessed to have people care for us. Let us let them, know that they are precious to us. Take time this weekend to enjoy nature, family and friends. Remember all the many blessings from God.

Good Morning and Happy Friday,

Who Can Separate Us From The Hands of God?

We are secure in the Lord’s Hands. No person, no angels, not even Satan can remove us from God’s hand. God is not going to drop us out of His hands nor is He going to allow someone else to remove us. We may choose to backslide but only ourselves can choose to do that.

Romans 8:31-39King James Version (KJV)
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We can sleep at peace knowing we are safe and secure. Our salvation was bought and paid for by the precious blood of Jesus. This should bring us great comfort. When we accepted and repented and turned from our sins, we have put our past, our present, and future in the hands of God.

2 Chronicles 7:14King James Version (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Acts 3:19King James Version (KJV)
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

There is more to salvation then going to the front of the Church and shaking the hands of the Pastor.
There must be rebirth of our soul. There must be a change in our hearts.

John 3:1-7King James Version (KJV)
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

There must be a rebirth of our soul, or we have walked up to the front a sinner and came back to our seat a sinner. Where there is a rebirth, there must begin a change in our heart. If we keep sinning and do not feel any guilt, perhaps we should go to a knees and pray for a new birth of our soul and spirit. I am not saying salvation brings perfections. We will not be perfected until we receive our glorified bodies. If we can sin and never feel guilty, we must revisit our salvation.

If we continue to sin over and over, after salvation, we will hardened our hearts. They may come a time that God will stop dealing with us. Whether He gives over to Satan, or takes us to Heaven early, because our sins are an embarrassment to Him and His Kingdom, I do not know. There is scriptures for both.

1 John 5:16King James Version (KJV)16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Romans 1:28-32New King James Version (NKJV)

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[a] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they arewhisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[b] unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

We need not fear either, if we listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit when He convicts us of our sin and ask for forgiveness and stop sinning. You might say God is harsh. Really? If you stoled from your boss and he forgave you and you stoled again, would he not fire you? There is consequences when we allow our hearts to grow as cold as stone.

If we stay true to God and respect the cost of our salvation, we will enter the gates of Heaven. God is able to keep us safe until our salvation is fulfilled, when we enter Heaven.

1 Peter 1:3-9King James Version (KJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

There is NO SIN on earth, worth going to hell for. Let us pray for a soft heart that is willing to listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Stay close to Jesus. We have come too far to quit, now.

Good Morning and Happy Thursday

America hasn’t been this divided since the Civil War. Even tragedies like Sunday Night no longer brings us together as Americans. The Democrats seem to hate Conservatives with a passion. They hate President Trump and find fault with every thing he does. Even having fun with the people in Puerto Rico, by throwing paper towels to the people, was considered a hateful act, in the video the people seem to be having fun with the President. The Democratic Mayor of Puerto Rico called the President an insult to her people. The truth is there is nothing that the President could do that would cause those who hate him to give him a chance.

When I see the division and hate it makes me sad. It is not just politicians that are filled with hate towards the President. I have lost two friends when I defended him and have talk to others who have lost friends over our opinion of President Trump. Unlike the Democrats who are blinded by their hatred, conservatives realize that the President is not perfect, but we see that he is trying to fix this Nation.

Sadly, he is mounting a losing cause. I believe every day our Country is getting more and more prepared to accept the anti-Christ. The more people who hate our Flag, our Constitution, and our National Anthem, the closer we get to become to accepting the anti-Christ, who will do away with all three. He wants all Countries to accept His government and to pledge allegiance to only Him. I have heard people say that America will never do this, It the Bible makes it clear that she will along with every other Country.

My friends, while it makes us very sad to see our Country brought down by hate, remember our Country has allowed babies to be slaughtered in the womb for decades. All this hatred that is growing is being allowed, in part because of the sin of our Country. America is coming into judgement.

What do we as Christians do? We pray for our Country and our President. We pray for lost souls. We prepare our hearts for the rapture. Every day we are getting closer to the time that Jesus will come for His Bride (His Children). We put in the whole armor of God so that we are not overcome by the devil. We as children of God, do not need to hide no tremble with fear. God will protect us and even if the devil would slay us, our soul is secure in the hands of God. Yes we grieve over those who are killed by people who are filled with hate, but we put our fears aside and we trust God. He is still in control. Yes, He is allowing hate to grow and haters to act but remember the world is preparing herself for the anti-Christ and His earthly Kingdom. As Children of God, we are preparing our hearts for God’s Heavenly Kingdom.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

Every day is a new day. A new page in our life to do what we did not do yesterday. A new day to tell someone we love them, that we haven’t told in a while. Every day brings it’s own little diamonds of joy, challenges, and even troubles. It is how we prepare for the day that determines in many ways how the day will end.

For many years, I pick out my clothes the night before and get them together in the bathroom.
I set up the coffee pot the night before to come on in the morning. Little things like these can get the
morning started off better. Yet, there is another step that I need to do more often and that is talk to God. As you shower and get dressed, talk to God. Tell Him your plans, but ask Him to have His will in your day. Yes, God may have little detours for you, so that you can accomplish His purpose. Remember that anything that God brings in your day is for a reason. We can trust Him each day of our life.

Also, the devil may throw things in to your day, that are disruptive and frustrating . If we begin our day talking to God, we can deal with those interruptions with peace, knowing that God is with us every day and through every circumstance. God is not an old man, nodding off while sitting on His Throne. He is ageless. He does not grow weary or tired. He does not take catnaps on the job. He is always alert and The Holy Spirit, a part of the Godhead, is living in our hearts. He is with us always. We can go about our day in peace and trusting God to be with us, always.

We all have an appointed time to leave this world. Christians will either leave by death or the rapture. We need not fear death. If God takes us in death, He will walk across the Jordan river of death, with us. God is ALWAYS with us, even in death. We can trust God in death and life. Remember the more we talk to God, the stronger our trust in Him grows and the stronger our faith grows.

Romans 10:17King James Version (KJV)17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God

1 John 4:18King James Version (KJV)18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We spend time with God so that we know Him. God allows trials in our life so our trust is tested. If we fail the test, we should not blame God but study His Word more and pray more, so that our trust grows. The more we trust Him the more our fear weakens. We can either feed our trust in God or feed fear. We have to choose for ourselves. The devil will gladly feed your fears, but repute the devil in the Name of the Lord.

Rejoice in the Lord, by friends. He is with us and He will guide us. Pray for one another. May God grant you a blessed day with little diamonds of joy.
Betty
