While reading today readings. The below stood out to me.
Genesis 30:22-24 ((KJV)
And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach: And she called his name Joseph;....
I have read this before but it did not dawn on me that the reason Joseph was Jacobs favorite son making the other brother dislike him was because his mother was Rachel. Rachel was the one Jacob loved and wanted marry to start with, but she could have not children. So it just now stood out to me that this is why Joseph was special from the start.
