There are certainly endearing gestures from our loved ones, including winks.
These in Proverbs don't sound very loving though!
Proverbs 6 (NLT)
12 What are worthless and wicked people like?
They are constant liars,
13 signaling their deceit with a wink of the eye,
a nudge of the foot, or the wiggle of fingers.
14 Their perverted hearts plot evil,
and they constantly stir up trouble.

People who wink at wrong cause trouble,
but a bold reproof promotes peace.

What does it tell you when a person winks at you?
The winks that meant the most to me are those that have come from those that I have loved, admired and looked up to... such as my Grandpa or Uncle...it meant(from them)that I was precious in their site.
Is it not what's behind the wink?
