I want to promote the prophets understanding of Israel and the way their prophecies were declared fulfilled by the apostles. The benefit of this is that the relationship between the people of Judah and the Christians is made very clear.
For instance, consider this prophecy that was made after the return of the house of Judah from Babylonian captivity.
Zec 11:14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Most people believe that every reference to Israel concerns the Jews. This passage makes it clear that God does not think that way.

Did you realize that Jacob had sons by four different women? Did you realize that two of the tribes of Israel had a mother who was Egyptian, the daughter of the priest of On?
