Great stuff Caretaker!!

This is an interesting article:

Dinosaurs and the Bible

An aura of mystery surrounds the dinosaurs. Where did they come from? Did they evolve? Did they really live millions of years ago? What happened to them? Are there any living today? Has any human being ever seen a live dinosaur?

Children and adults alike are absolutely fascinated by these mysterious monsters. Numerous books and movies have been produced to satisfy a seemingly insatiable hunger for information on these puzzling creatures. The truth of the matter, however, is that there are no real mysteries at all, once you have key information that is not generally known and is withheld from the public.

Come with me as we take a walk through history and uncover some amazing facts that will answer many of your questions about these “terrible lizards.”

Exactly Carol!!

A brief summary I wrote for Dr. Gish's Apol. 250 class at Liberty:

quote:

Summary of Origin Models

Introduction:

Within the hallowed halls of higher academia one hears the term, “The Theory of Evolution”, in regards to the origins of life. One also, though less frequently hears the term, “The Theory of Creation”, though spoken of in derogatory terms. It seems rather a shame that with the single word, “Theory”, places the debate outside the realm of empirical science and into the realm of the philosophical.

Although seeking scientific credibility those using the term are outside the scientific method of analysis.

In the words of a noted Evolution apologist:

“These evolutionary happenings are unique, unrepeatable, and irreversible. It is as impossible to turn a land vertebrate into a fish as it is to effect the reverse transformation. The applicability of the experimental method to the study of such unique historical processes is severely restricted before all else by the time intervals involved, which far exceed the lifetime of any human experimenter. And yet it is just such impossibility that is demanded by anti-evolutionists when they ask for ‘proofs’ of evolution which they magnanimously accept as satisfactory.” ( T. Dobzhansky, American Scientist Vol. 45 p.388 1957)

Evolution and Creation are neither theory nor hypothesis as neither can be tested experimentally for confirmation. They can however be formatted as models to be contrasted and compared in regards to observable data. The model allows the data to be organized and a systematic series of questions asked which can then be researched. The most correct model would be that which fits known facts with the least number of contradictions and inconsistencies.

Summary:

The logical first step in a summation is to define the concepts, which are being systematically examined. Evolution is the gradual development of all forms of life by natural processes from a common ancestral form, which had arisen from the primordial “soup”. Creation is the special creative and integrative processes, which are no longer in operation, which brought all forms of life into existence by acts of a supernatural God.

The two models are diametrically opposed to each other on every point. Evolution places the origin of life in the nutrient enriched primordial sea. The conditions were right for an ever increasingly complex build-up of compounds. At a certain point the common ancestral cell was formed from which all life on earth can trace its origin.

Creation places the origin of life under the operational intelligence and energy of a supernatural God with the appearance of all specific “kinds” of life appearing contemporaneous with each other.

Each “kind” is an interfertile group which is not related to another interfertile group. All organisms of one “kind” can be traced back to the original created “kind”.

A “kind” is limited to those able to produce zygotes from the union of sex cells, which is the ability to produce viable offspring. There is a genetic boundary separating differing “kinds”.

The evolutionary model contains no genetic boundary as there has been an on-going continuum of organisms, with new kinds appearing. This is why mutations are beneficial to the evolutionary model while being harmful to the creation model. The evolution model shows man as having ape-like ancestors while the creation model shows man as having no ape-like ancestors, with civilization contemporaneous with man. Evolution shows the origins of civilization as being a slow and gradual process.

One of the differences between evolution and creation not found in the particular models are the respective philosophies:

“Sir Julian Huxley, British evolutionist and grandson of Thomas Huxley, one of Darwin’s strongest supporters when he first published his theory, has said that, ‘Gods are peripheral phenomena produced by evolution.”

In essence the evolutionist has man creating God and the creationist has God creating man.

Conclusion:

The use of models in presenting origins is the fairest and most logical methodology in differentiating between evolution and creation. The arrogance which propagandizes evolution from the hallowed halls of higher academia and which relegates creationism to the realm of superstition and anti-intellectualism is a grave detriment to the honest examination of origins. To indoctrinate young teachers with the dogma of humanism, which in turn further perpetuates a societal bias, undermines the scientific education of our nation’s youth. Our students deserve a true education free from indoctrination and with the opportunity to examine scientific models with honest methodology.

quote:

In the interest of clarifying the intelligent design debate, let me offer a bare bones description of what makes up a scientific model:

In science, the term “model” refers to the schematic description of a system (or set of phenomena) that accounts for its observed and inferred features as well as its origin and complete history. A model is much more than a mere idea, inference, method, hypothesis, or rudimentary theory. It’s a scenario that offers reasonable explanations for the entire scope or history (origin to ending) of a particular system in nature, as well as for its relationship to other phenomena.

Using a model approach supplies researchers with enough detail to assist in further study. It offers explanations for how, when, where, why, and in what order a phenomenon takes place. It anticipates or predicts discoveries that could either verify or falsify the model’s explanations. The best models also yield specific suggestions for how near-future research may help improve understanding of the systems or phenomena they attempt to explain.

Do real scientists believe in Creation?

quote:
"Scientists who utterly reject Evolution may be one of our fastest-growing controversial minorities… Many of the scientists supporting this position hold impressive credentials in science."

God commanded Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply.

Genesis 1:26-28

26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

But they did not have their first child until they were expelled from Eden.

Genesis 4:1-2

1Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, “I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD.” 2Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

It is unreasonable to think that Adam and Eve lived for many years in Eden without bearing children as commanded by God.

Am I correct in understanding that the figure of 6000 or so years was arrived at by adding the ages of persons listed in the Old Testament? If so where can I find the age of Adam at the time of his expulsion from Eden? Since we understand that Adam's sin brought death into the world wouldn't it follow that aging also did not exist prior to his sin? The Bible does not say so, but rather infers, that Adam was created as an adult and did not 'age' up to the point of his expulsion.
What's your take on this?
Your brother in Christ, LeRoy (thefixer).

God bless you Brother Fixer. I merely take God at His Word.

Genesis 5:
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

All of creation was created in its maturity after its kind, including Adam. So the first man would have been one day old but physically a mature man.

The phrase "evening and morning" used to denote each day of Genesis 1, is the same as throughout the Bible to reference a "day", a 24 hour period of time.

So many elevate secular science and its theories to an equal or higher level then the Bible and God Himself. Bottom line is that secular science uses the unprovable "eons of time" theory to explain what they observe with physical characteristics dependent upon the observable remaining constant, such as the radioactive absorption rate in living tissue, and the half life of radioactivity. All dependent upon an observable constant, with theory extrapolated out over an adequate amount of time to allow for "natural" environmental changes.

Science discounts the supernatural in creation in its maturity including Light. It discounts the worldwide cataclysm known as the Flood, whereby the crust of the earth was literally ripped-open as the fountains of the deep spewed forth, and the canopy of waters from Heaven rained down. Science discounts the worldwide levels of silt and the fossil record beginning suddenly from the Cambrian era.

The mythological secular theory of evolution is totally dependent upon a multitude of the most radical mutations, that the mutations would have occurred simultaneously in multiple pairs and that a radical mutation could then reproduce, after its new kind, and that this could accidentally occur millions of times.

It takes far more faith to trust in the scientific mythology then it does in the record God has given us through Moses. God spoke, Moses wrote.

There was no death prior to Adam's sin. The eons of time theorized by secular science is false, and disallows the flood of Noah and its resulting physical evidence.

The Word of God declares you to be in error:

Romans 5:
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Their bones are dated from being here millions of years ago.

Only thing is, the bible timeline link only shows a world 6,015 years old.

1) The dating of the fossil record is based upon a geologic column, and the theories of scientists which add eons of time to allow for the mythology of evolutionary origins. Their pet theories disallow a worldwide deluge, and such evidence as would be the result of the flood of Noah. Carbon dating is only accurate to 50,000 years and dependent upon a consistency with our current conditions.

2)Man and dinosaurs were contemporaneous with one another as we still are with such dinosaurs as alligators and crocodiles, amphibians and reptiles. That is evidenced by the footprint of man superimposed over the footprint of a dinosaur in rock strata in Texas.

3) The world was far different prior to the Flood, with weather mild into the north pole regions as evidenced from the plants in the bellies of Wooly Mammoths frozen in the arctic. It was the deluge judgment which changed the weather and the topography of the earth as the crust was ripped open and the fountains of the deep sprung forth, and the overhead water canopy poured down. The earth was changed forever by the Flood Judgment.

Job 40:
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Job 41:
1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?
5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
7 Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?
8 Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.
9 Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?
10 None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
11 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
12 I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.
13 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?
14 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.
15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.
16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
17 They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.
18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.
21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
22 In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.
24 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.
25 When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
26 The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
27 He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.
28 The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
29 Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.
30 Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.
31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.
33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
