be a good listener, the world is full of hurting people....Yahshua felt the pain of the people around Him and ministered to their needs....hungry people always welcome a hearty meal...your heart and Yahweh's heart are one , just wait for the opportunities, they will come if you truly love the people Yahweh puts in your path.

BurgerGirl, The best way to "promote an environment of kindness" is to demonstrate it. See my statement on the "Virtue of Kindness" here: http://christianityetc.org/kindness.php

Hey Mary,
The best thing you can do is to think about what would Jesus do and put him in control. But do not become a spiritual snob. Let them know your human and you do make mistakes. And in all things show forgiveness. Paul spoke it best in the book of Phillipians.
(Php 4:8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The Bible is more then a book of rules, it is about love, unconditional love. Usually if you can identify the news of today with the bible most people will eat it up. Meaning alot of non-christians are talking about the end times. Some times just leaving a little booklet laying around can be a good conversation opening.
