This is sort of difficult for me. How do you please evreyone? You really can't. Actually, you could by eliminating the prayer, wich really serves no purpose in city affairs.
I didn't know some cities opened town hall meetings with prayer. I'm guessing this town is somewhere in the southern states? We don't really worry about that sort of thing up here in Wisconsin. We keep church and state pretty separate because not evreyone follows the same religion in evrey town. Theres jews, hindus, muslims, wiccans, christians and catholics in our town, and we pretty much get along. So there is a very formal, professional atmosphere at our town hall meetings.

Wicca high priestess battles town on prayer - Charlotte Observer
Wicca High Priestess, Darla Wynne, is a New Age spiritualist who has filed a federal lawsuit accusing the council of violating the constitutional separation of church and state. In what may be the first case of its kind in South Carolina, she wants the court to stop the council from using the words Jesus Christ in its prayers, and employ a more generic term such as "Our Heavenly Father."
