Perhaps I am being too cynical, but these are the facts: 1. An Arab American walks into an LA airport, and commences shooting at an Israeli ticket booth 2. The intended victims were those at said ticket booth...workers and passengers. And the FBI is cautious about not calling this a terrorist attack? What else does it take to call it that? Is this political correctness gone too far? Will President Bush now visit another mosque to reassure that we love muslims despite another attack by one of them?

Special Jerusalem Report - #2 APPARENT TERROR IN LOS ANGELES Barbara Richmond Jul 4, 2002
THREE DEAD IN L.A. ATTACK - APPARENT TERROR ATTACK
A gunman opened fire Thursday at Israel's El Al airline's ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport. Three people were killed, including the gunman, who was shot dead by an airline security guard, authorities said. Seven other people were reported wounded in the attack. Israeli Transport Minister Ephraim Sneh said one of those killed was a passenger, apparently an Israeli, Israel Radio reported. Two suspected accomplices in the attack were being questioned by Los Angeles Police, including one seen accompanying the assailant before the attack, media reports said.
In Israel, several government leaders including Foreign Minister Shimon Peres have declared there is no doubt this was a terror attack. Police are on the alert in Los Angeles for the possibility of further attacks.
The gunman who carried out the attack was carrying a handgun and a knife, Israeli Transportation Minister Ephraim told journalists Thursday. According to Sneh, the shooter opened fire at a line of passengers at the stand, killing one. He was subsequently killed by an El Al security officer.
Sneh consistently referred to the shooting as a terrorist attack. When asked if he had any information on which to base this claim, he said: "We don't have information concerning any specific terrorist organization, but have every basis to assume that it was a terrorist attack. When somebody opens fire at El Al passengers at an international airport," Sneh said, "you have to assume it's a terrorist attack."
Israel's Consul General in Los Angeles, Yuval Rotem, told Israel Radio: "It seems like a terrorist attack, although we don't have any confirmation for this. We, the Israeli people, are unfortunately too familiar with terror," Rotem added, "and from our experience it looks very much like a terrorist attack." He said that discussions he had with Israeli security personnel at the terminal after the attack corroborated media reports saying the shooter was identified as an Arab, or Middle eastern, male.
